Sheila Rantil was born to Ichiro and Elizabeth Rantil in Saria Town. Growing up, she shared her father's interest in plants, spending most of her teenage years helping her father with his floral shop. But then one day, she met a Sheikah warrior and became fascinated with the entire race. She then decided to emulate their combat style, and she figured the best way to do that would be to join the Hylian Knights and become an apprentice to one of the Shadow People in the Hyrulean Army. She journeyed to Ruto Town to train under her uncle on her mother's side before applying for the Hylian Knights.

A few years after arriving at her uncle's house, a gohma entered the Ruto-Saria Pass. After learning that no Hylian Knight could defeat it, she decided to kill it herself, believing that if she could succeed where the Knights have failed she would be guaranteed a spot among the ranks of the brave men who defend Hyrule.

However, when faced with the giant spider, she froze up and it bit her, injecting its poison into her bloodstream. While trying to run away from the gohma, she ran into her father and another person, but she had fell unconscious by then.

When she awoke, Sheila was greeted by her father and uncle, who told her what happened. After she has rested up, she planned to go find her savior, one Rose Hillmound, who was making her way to North Castle. Having found Rose, she talked to her about her goal to become a Hylian Knight, but she wasn't allowed in because she was a Hylian woman and not a Sheikah woman. Rose suggested that Sheila try to get into other Hyrulean military academies until one of them let her in.

After a few weeks of traveling Hyrule and failing to get into an academy, Sheila returned to North Castle in a foul mood. There, General Garcia Himoke found her. After hearing why the young Hylian wished to become a knight, he suggested she head to Saria Town and look for the Swordmaster of the Shadows, a Sheikah bounty hunter.

Born to a merchant and his wife, Sir Seth Aestas did not display the magical prowess that his grandfather did. Instead, when Seth had enough of his parents trying to force magic out of him, he ran away from home and joined a group of nomads, where he discovered his skill with a bow. At the age of twenty, his parents were finally able to track him down. They apologized and begged Seth to return to North Castle. He forgave his parents and returned with them. Soon there after, he joined the Hylian Knights. Within ten years, he rised through the ranks slightly. He is known as the Bow Lieutenant of the Hylian Knights. His back up weapon is a rapier, and he shows decent skill with it. He is a friend of Hyneria Ikana, and he is always willing to veer the Hylian Knights away from her unlawful activities. First stationed in North Castle, he was transferred to Ruto Town after nine years with the Knights. He is a cousin of Sheila.
