A solemn samurai that hails from an unmentioned land far east of Hyrule, Kenji Murasaki has recently journeyed to this land in search of work, and the hope of outrunning his past mistakes and those he once loved. In his youth, Kenji was the apprentice to a Samurai by the name of Kawakami Gensai, who was known as a hitokiri.

When Kenji was of the age to receive his first sword, he was given his father's sword, a blade known as Juuchi Fuyu, or 10,000 Winters, that had ben crafted by a master sword smith by the name of Muramasa. This blade was a blood-thirsty weapon, and cut anything that touched it's edge, even with the slightest pressure. This sword was latter shattered and re-forged into Angoku Dama, the Jade of the Abyss, and is the sword Kenji wields in his right hand.
