Crowds of people gathered around a brilliantly decorated platform, worked up by a cloaked mage, hooded enough to make his face half-shaded. His hands waved about in steady, yet expressive motions as he told an exciting tale. Unlike most hooded folks with that look of mystery and ill-intent, his volume and sheer willingness to speak openly of his past. The crowd cheered over something you failed to hear, so you went closer, to get a better look.

"... and it was for that reason the fiend leapt from his chair and bounded down towards us. Erik beside me drew his bow, and within an instant, he shot a silver arrow into his heart. But it did not stop..." the crowd held its breath. "I had no answers yet as to why the very arrow that is the bane of demons failed to finish him... but I had another way in mind. I drew Maugath!" - at that moment he drew a wand from a small scabbard like a pouch that seemed to fit it perfectly. The people wooted and clapped, recognizing it. The mage smirked, and with a fire in his eye, he continued: "And with an elemental explosion that drained me severly, derived from both desperation and confidence, a blast of grey light, bright shadows, winter-cold flame, burning-hot ice, boneless chunks of earth and thick gusts of wind, I demolished the demon Skorm, the third successor of Ganon!" Again the cheers returned. Really, the better number of them wouldn't be cheering unless they knew it was true... it sounded at first like rubbish...
"Remember, my good people," continued the mage with a lowered voice, raising a hand to a glowing red scar, clearly not done by a sword of axe, going from his forehead to the side of his mouth - "Even at this time, Skorm is not dead. He will be back. We both are scarred from that battle... no single Hero could truly defeat him... only a True Hero such as Link could ever dream of such an accomplishment... however..."
He raised from his pack a fire-red sword, so massive that it was clearly magically transfigured to fit the small space of his pack - "I have his sword. He will not be doing much without such a powerful relic." More cheers.
"Let all remember to pay a visit to Erik's grave in the Guild Courtyard. His soul was given up to keep your lands safe, and your lives. The Three bless him." And with a bow he stepped down from the Platform, passing you. He smiled grimly and nodded.
Some audience left the room after that, but many stayed to hear who would be next.
A stalky man in a suit and a top hat stepped up and called out, "Thank you, Adhamar the Grim! Are there any other folks who would like to tell their tales? Anyone! Guild Heroes, Apprentices, adventurers - I'm sure you all have very interesting tales! Come on up and tell us yours!"

OOC: Talk of your own stories and adventures with any of your characters if you'd like. The better the telling the more renown points you get. Win their hearts, or just do it to save up for a statue in the Hall of Fame XD. More than anything have fun.

And you don't always have to make them happy in order to win renown ;).
