"Time heals all wounds, eh? Then perhaps I should have stayed away for good..."

Slowly, almost painfully, a man clad in a tattered red cloak and black robes walked past the drawbridge gate. In his right hand, a staff on the verge of falling apart. It had seen one too many battle. At his hip, a long, curved blade rested in its sheath, edge down as always. "But perhaps its best that I do return. Mend the wrongs I caused instead of waiting for the current generation to pass on. What say you, demon?"

You know I have nothing to say, boy. You helped instigate a war. Then, you cowardly ran off and waited for it too end...

Sovelis nodded at the voice that only he could hear, the companion he had carried all these years that had forced him to remain alone. "Even so, I know not what to do anymore. Even my knowledge and powers are nothing. Its like I've taken three steps back without even moving an inch forward...." Silence was the reply, silence and the steady murmur of the people that bustled the streets.

Perhaps time was the best medicine after all...

OOC: JUBILATIONS! :D Sovelis, one of our own, hath returned! -Parties erupt all over Hyrule- One question, though: By the tone of your post, I am led to believe this is after the War of Hyrule. Please tell me if it is or not, for that will affect the rest of my posts. For now, let's include those who survived, just in case.

IC: Two shadowy figures stood in an alley not too far from Sovelis. One was almost familiar to him; he had fought him before. The other might be completely new. The first was a Rito by the name of Rimnos Alfiey, one of the Seven Stars who battled Sovelis. The other was a man dressed in all white and icy blue apparell. His name was Jack, and he was a man less trusted in this land. Everywhere he went, he spread a chill on the air, even freezing things that touched him.

"Should we approach him?" Jack said in his low, icy voice. "No, not yet. He may still be powerfull. Let's wait to see what develops." Rimnos replied.

On the other side of the street, unknown to the two watchmen, a girl appreared. Now, this one should be recognizable by Sovelis anywhere, it was Aria Gobi, someone he had once trained for a short time. "Sovelis!" She called, and started running to him . . .

OoC: Hmmm... not sure if its after... is the war over or not?

IC:

"Hmm?" The Tempest's attention turned from his thoughts to Aria, apparently running to great him. "Well well, looks like I get a welcome part after all." Sovelis beamed at the girl, leaning haphazardly on his staff. His eyes had lost most of the brilliance they once held, but for a brief moment they shone brightly like rough emeralds. "You've grown some since I saw you last, Aria." His smile faded a bit as he looked around, half expecting boot to meet his face. "K-kasei wouldn't happen to be near... Would he?"

OOC: Based on a Yahoo! Messenger talk I had with Cody, this topic is post-war.

IC: "Kasei?" Aria repeated, rather solemnly. "No, he's not around at all. He's rather. . . gone." She answered, a sad look in her eyes. It was then that Rimnos and Jack both burst from the shadows, and jumped behind Sovelis. "The Tempest . . . Sovelis." Rimnos said, while Jack mearly stood there. Aria looked up at the two imposing figures. "Do not be alarmed. We won't fight you today. The streets are crowded and, as of five months ago, your ties with the Dark Armies have been severed, correct? We have no need to battle you now." The Rito said in a cool voice.

"Thats . . . . good, I think." Aria said, then smiled at Sovelis. "Isn't it good that you don't have to fight?" She asked, rather innocently.

"Personally... I'm not in the mood to fight anyone on your levels today, thank you very much." even after being gone for so long, Sovelis was every bit as cocky as before. He drew his cloak around him a little bit, his hand tightening on the faded fabric. "And what do you mean' He's gone', Aria? I expected to see him around here if I showed up again. What did he do? Sleep in? Get drunk? Fall off a cliff?" The Tempest had a tired look now, as if just standing was draining his strength away. "Never fails... I show my face, and he's too lazy to even say hello..."

"Indeed." Rimnos said with a look, then he and Jack turned to depart.

"No, Sovelis." Aria said, sad. "Kasei's gone. Dead. He died at Death mountain, along with the armies and Gobi." She said. This was odd, she would have thought that the Tempest would have known about Kasei's demize, it was widely publicised, after all.

"In the meantime, how are you?"

"Impossible... He... he couldn't..." Sovelis leaned against the nearest wall, visibly shocked. "He couldn't have died. Your lying." His eyes looked up, following Jack and Rimnos. "Tell me she's joking! Kasei can;t be dead!!!" The Tempest yelled at them, his finger pointing. "Even I couldn't kill him! There's no way that he could have died!" He gripped his cloak tighter, shaking. "No... he couldn't have died... couldn't..." Coming to grips would take time for Sovelis, the news of the death weighing heavily on his mind.

OoC: I'm gonna butt in now. :D

IC: Keychain stared. She blinked her bright blue eyes once. Twice. Thrice. She had never seen the person before, being greeted by Aria like an old friend. Maybe they were old friends. She didn't know. Of course she wouldn't know at all, since she was still pretty new in the area.

Someone bumped into her harshly, almost sending her to the ground. The person glanced at her and quickly muttered, "Sorry" and took off, but not without a second look at her, an odd look on his face. She didn't even need to say how it didn't matter and it was alright. All she was doing was being lethargic, hanging around the buildings, moving slower than normal, and staying invisible.

Of course, that seemed to be the best thing she could do. Be invisible. She was there but no one noticed her. Even though dark red hair swept down her back in an odd color. Too dark to be considered a real red color, but too red to be considered brown. It was like blood that refused to dry completely, those brown specks showing where it had dried.

She was hanging around Aqua too much.

Keychain pulled her shawl closer to her body. Aqua had taken her warm cloak and went off to who knows where and she was left with a thin shawl over her light cotton blue dress. Her pale skin didn't stick out so much with the light coloring of the dress. And, like usual, her feet were bare, a thin layer of dust scattered on them. She had shoes, somewhere buried in her room at the Inn, but she liked to not wear her shoes, since they squeezed her feet too much and always flew off her feet when she tried running with them on. Sure she had a few cuts here and there on the bottom of her feet, but it was worth it, really.

Staring a bit more, she decided on one thing, if she wanted people to know her and finally be liked, she had to approach people first instead of expecting someone to approach someone that seemed like the wall. Her feet moved swiftly from under her.

She stopped close by. Now it was clear he was upset. Maybe this was a bad time . . .

"She's not lying." Another, familiar voice called out. It was Denkou, Lightning Thief, who now stood next to Sovelis, suprisingly, he was missing his left arm. "The dude went out in fire and flames in Death Mountain." He said. "You couldn't kill him, yeah, but you aren't the strongest out there now, are you?"

As he talked, Aria noticed Keychain approaching. "Hello, Key." She said sweetly. "Where are you off too?" Came a question. "Come with us."

OOC: Hooray for Quicky posts!! :D

" I won't believe it unless I see a grave, coffin, and corpse." The tempest mumbled darkly, staring at the thief before him. "Unless you show me those, I won't believe that Kasei is dead." He turned and started walking away, aiming his direction towards the closest Inn. It was now his intent to go start drinking, and in his mind, lure the Rebel Flame out to prove that he hadn't been killed. I'll prove them wrong... Prove them all wrong... A strange smile started forming on his face, one that looked to split his face from ear to ear.

Perhaps these past few months had been... detrimental on the Tempest's state of mind?

Keychain smiled softly at Aria. She nodded her head slightly to her, and then turned her attention to the male she did not know. Frowning, her eyes darted up and down, examining him. She didn't know why, but there was something about him that made her step back a few steps.

Breathing in and out heavily a few moments, Keychain finally made it her goal to speak with him. Tapping him lightly, the touch of a feather or a light breeze, she tried to catch his attention.

"Hi," said Keychain. Her voice was too high pitched then what she wanted. Clearing her voice, she spoke more like herself instead of a rat, a sweet, gentle voice with the shyness she couldn't rid of, "My name is Keychain. I don't believe we have met before. Even though I was pretty much going to be lazy today, I decided that I've been here long enough so I should try and get to know some people. Since you seem to know Aria I thought I just might talk to you."

She forced herself to stop talking. Either she talked too much or she was so silent she could have been a statue instead of a person. She gazed at him, then, with her bright blue eyes, wondering what he was going to say, or do, maybe even see what he wouldn't do.

"Well," Denkou started, "A grave, yes, a coffin, perhaps, a body? No way. He was cremated, you know? Kinda ironic if I do say so myself." The Thief explained. "Go ask anyone who saw the funeral, eh?" Then, he glanced at Aria and Keychain. "Why hello there." He said.

"Oh, hi Denkou." Aria said with a look of hate. "Sovelis, he's right. Kasei's gone. No ammount of beer will bring him back."

"No. Ironic would be having your spine ripped out then shoved back in place through your..." Sovelis stopped, and leaned on his staff. "I don't need to finish, do I?'' he chuckled lightly, as if his own demented humor was funny. He dug in his satchel and pulled out a thin tube of paper, lighting it with a flick of his thumb. "Besides... I reckon that Kasei'll find some way to bug us from beyond the grave. Look at me, I do it all the time!"

Taking a deep hit, Sovelis blew a lazy smoke ring above his head, and guided it at Denkou's face. "Death is only the next step in a never ending journey. Its a road we must all pass once... or twice."

"Sovelis!" Calls a voice from the shadows. A tall figure emerges, dressed in a brown tunic and a dark colored cloak. He had a mess of dark hair on top of his head, and a short ragged beard. "I haven't seen you in quites some time!" Said Leth, clapping his hand on his friends back. "Where have you been?"

OOC: Yeah short post but I'm not sure what else to say...
