OoC: I guess I'll join in. Better late then never, right?

IC: "No."

Aqua pouted. She saw the cake and wanted some so badly. "But Keychain--"

Crossing her arms, Keychain glared darkly with her bright blue eyes. Seeing such a look on such an innocent face made it almost funny, but Aqua knew better. "I said no. We just can't waltz up there and--"

"It's free," interrupted Aqua.

Keychain paused to think over it. Uncrossing her arms, she sighed. "Okay, only one piece, you got that?"

"Yes, yes, I'm not a child. In fact, I'm older than you." Grabbing her best friend's arm, Aqua strutted over to the cake and grabbed herself and Keychain a piece. "Oh, this looks good."

Keychain nodded her head, admitting defeat to the sweet treat.

Chisalu gazed, her eyes wide as saucers, her breath quicker. For this was momentous, truly momentous. It was a large, delicious looking cake, and there for the taking really! She looked left, right, her face betraying vividly her intentions, but she didn't mind. She would not be here long, at least not visible.

She stepped into the shadows, letting them shiver around her, disguising her naturally. An instinct, a natural occurrence to vanish into them, with a flash of her eyes, that told how hungry she was, she completed the shadowmeld, darting forward, hardly there, even in her own body, and swiped some cake.

Darting backwards, her cloak of shadows falling, as she curled into a small corner, licking her fingers, and eating as hurriedly as she could. Her small belly squealing and shrieking for more. "Mmmhhm" She hummed and ahhed to herself expressively. "Mhhhhmmmmmm delicious~"

The adventurers who braved the perilous journey through the crowd to reach the cake were well rewarded for their efforts. As the delectable baked good slides down their throats, they are filled with an incredibly sense of power. It is clear that, like all its predecessors, this cake is filled with mass loads of TINGLE-Juice, or whatever that crazy dude puts in his cooking.

Hithos smiles warmly as they devour it. "Good, huh? Powerful stuff, that."

Powerful stuff indeed, powerful enough to make the defenders of Hyrule that much more formidable as they begin a new year of defending the Kingdom from those that would wreck it.

Royal Guard wrote:Standing two stories high and requiring the entire consolidated efforts of the Lon Lon Ranch, the Olive B. Ranch, and a host of fairies, the annual Grand Celebration cake stood in the same place as always, towering above the festivities. Children crowded around it, begging for a piece or twenty. Only two Knights were on guard this year, and they simply weren't able to patrol the whole cake at once, so several grubby brats were able to swipe a finger's worth of frosting now and then before running off giggling with their hand in their mouth.

The only one who seems really perturbed by this is the main architect of the baked good--a certain full-grown fairy in green clothing. Tingle stomps his feet angrily at any child who comes near, the task of handing cake out to the festival-goers slipping his mind. Luckily, Quartermaster Hithos is standing by--hands scrubbed clean of all soot and other undesirable stains--cutting the cake into pieces and handing them out to the neverending line of people.

With a kind smile, he eyes the next person in line--you. "Ah, there you are. Was wondering when you'd show up. You know, it's because of people like you that we have this Celebration. Feel free to have as much cake as you like."

The delectable slice sits there on a plate, mere feet from you. Can you possibly deny such a treat?
Nogare became first in line, and immediately greeted the Quartermaster heartily. "And to you as well," he replied, grinning broadly. "Good to see you out of that dark smithy for once. Actually, I didn't come by to have a piece of cake - though I wouldn't mind a piece. I'd like to thank you for apprenticing me as a grunt. Three years ago I was training to become a vassal. If you hadn't apprenticed me, Blade or not, I prefer our side against the dark. Thank you." He accepted the cake, and with a nod, disappeared into the crowd.

During the time that everyone in front of him was receiving cake, Havoc thought back to last year when he met some loony who continuously yelled "The cake is a lie!" However, Havoc was not sure of the sanity of the being, as he really didn't know what cake actually was, and it was going to be that way until he stepped in line. But once he reached the front of the line, his eyes confirmed it; The cake was not a lie. He had never seen anything so beautiful, so delicious looking, his eyes and mouth were watering at the mere sight of it. As a piece was handed to him, his mind paused. He could not think of anything to say, and when he did say something, he thought he said "Thank you, kind sir", however, in reality, he said something completely different, and nobody actually knows how to think of it, and try to understand what it means, let alone pronounce it.
Havoc gladly excepted the piece, and gladly moved on.

Darting out from a side alley, Ryou emerges in the Courtyard. Hmm, What's this...a pastry? So many people.....doubtlessly some strange Hyrulean custom..... Pushing his way through the crowd, he spies a suitable vantage point. Bounding nimbly up the small stack of boxes, the focal point of the crowd is clearly visible. Ah, now this is interesting, a treat in fact. With a newfound desire to taste the delectable goodness, Ryou begins nimbly weaving through the crowd. Finally arriving Ryou takes his slice of the divine smelling cake, and slowly eats it all, bite by bite.

Hiro shifted quietly through the crowd around the enormous cake that lay in the middle of the courtyard, disturbing not a soul in his foodward trek.

Hmm... What a large cake. It seems to be free, and I seem to be hungry. A match made in heaven.

Hiro takes a slice of the delicious pastry for himself, and leaves while enjoying its taste.

Inco had never tasted cake before.

He had just wandered through Castle Town, looking for a respite against the harsh wilderness. He heard raucous celebration down near a side alley as he was walking through. He entered and soon found himself in the middle of a great festival, with a masterpiece of a confection, as tall as himself, standing in the center of the room.

A great big man was standing near the cake, doling out pieces to children and adults alike. Inco recognized him as the shopkeeper he visited earlier while looking for a weapon. He found himself swept up in a line towards the behemoth cake, and he thought to himself how cake would taste. Inco was used to the meat of animals and plants of the forest, not the sweet frosted treat in front of him.

"What is sweet?" Inco wondered. He had never had it before. As he made his way to the cake, he noticed a small man, dressed in an absurd green tunic, running around scolding children who managed to swipe some of the frosting.

"I hope I don't have to meet anyone like that in my journey" Inco thought. Finally, he was in the front of the line, with the shopkeeper looking right at him.

"This piece is just for you". The shopkeeper said. Inco was awash with fear.

"How does this man know me, do they know I am in Castle Town? Is this a trick?" Ingo thought in panic. "Do they recognize me?" Inco instinctively moved his hand down his belt where his dagger used to be sheathed, before he lost it evading a royal guard patrol.

However, the shopkeeper just handed him the cake piece and moved on to the next person.

Inco sighed a breath of relief when he just realized the shopkeeper was telling everyone the exact same thing.

Inco walked over to the side and took a bite into the cake.
Inco had never tasted cake before, and after that bite, he never wished to again.
The sweetness in his mouth haunted Inco for hours, feeling as if there was a sharp pain on the tongue.

Inco gave his cake to a child in the back of the line, and swore to never eat this "cake" again.
