Lovely red roses bloom across the courtyard.
They were spread with beds in the most particular of shapes, yet blending perfectly with the other plant life across the court. It invited visitors to come marvel at the castle's garden.
Azador was no stranger among these parts, he would often come here to ponder upon personal matters. This time was no exception as he was sitting on bench in the shade. Whilst gazing upon the fountain he held in his hands a rose of a different color, a pale white one that could not be seen growing in the rest of the court. He seemed to oddly caress the flower petals with his finger tips while his thoughts had drifted away. With faint smile he closed his eyes, much like he was trying to recall a memory dear to him.
“ Dear... I got you present...although it isn’t much. I think it will brighten your mood. “
“White.. Roses?”
“Yes... I found them growing nearby... I hope you like them...
“They’re beautiful...”
“I’m glad you like them...Azador...
“Yet... they pale in comparison....”
“....In comparison to what...?”
“To your smile....
it is more beautiful than any flower in full bloom...”
With this memory in mind Azador’s face was released from his usual stern expression, in favour of a smile. An honest happy smile he hasn’t shown to any adventurer across these parts. Even though it lasted for just a moment it had a definite impact in his mood, he felt more determined than ever before.
“Hmmph....How pathetic...I’m turning sentimental...” He muttered and opened his eyes, as did his smile turned into a regular grin.
“A rose for a rose perhaps?” A familiar voice could be heard behind him.
“I wouldn’t trade this white rose with a red one, not even in million years.” Azador replied with new found confidence.
“Much like you my ‘dearest’ Azador.”
“Sit down, Edward...” The mage said as he pointed to the empty place beside him.
“An invitation from YOUR side, now that is quite unique. I will oblige before you change your mind again.” Edward said in a flamboyant manner, something he had come known by.
the gentleman in red sat down. In his hands the red rose he was talking about.
A moment of silence passed by as both gazed around the garden.
“And why would that be?” Edward suddenly spoke, still referring to the white rose.
You couldn’t tell if the man had been pondering on that question all this time, or just asked to start a conversation.
“Your red rose.” Azador began.
“Is quite useless to me, this white one is precious, not because of it’s color, but simply because it holds a memory dear to me.”
“I see... Well does that memory have anything to do with the lady Jormun?” Edward asked, even though he knows the answer himself.
“Take an educated guess, my objective hasn’t changed Edward.
We will be united...in one way or an other... by the gods I swear it!” Azador skipped to subject entirely and instead began speaking about the lady in question. Azador’s voice changed from confident to slightly irate. Yet his eyes still sparked with the same passion.
“If you think I came here to pursue you to abandon your ideals than you are quite mistaken, master Miguel merely ordered me to make sure you would be alright, whether that means taking you back to Irenisval or helping you in your quest....”
“Which will it be Edward!? Drag me back to that hell hole where war and thievery is as common as daylight, or let me continue my research here in Hyrule!”
“ So...that is why you tried to escape from me.....
Azador you are all I have left.... it is ludicrous to assume that I would ever stand in your way.”
Edward spoke in a honest manner unlike what he had shown moments before.
It took a few moments for the mage to reply, but I began to realize the nonsense he had been assuming all this time.
Azador sighed in response. “I don’t known Edward....
I have so much to think about these days....that my mind goes awry.”
Followed with a faint grin.
“Although I cannot blame you for that, Azador, I still feel rather offended...”
“My apologies....
“Now do not fear, Azador- dear. Let us make a promise....A memory if you will, upon that red rose.” Edward held the flower high up in the air, as far as his arms would let him. Azador did much to same.
“Repeat after me....”
“We will do everything to achieve our own and each other’s goals and will see them reached whether that is in this life time or the next... We will fight together!”
With the last words spoken... the flowers were let lose to drift upon the wind.
The wind will carry them all across the fair court, the town, and even beyond the vast fields of Hyrule.
When they return to the earth like a living things, their promise will not have been broken.
But both tell of a journey and of friendship.
OOC: Finally some character development!!!
I would like everybody who reads this through to leave some critique, although the story might be boring or simplistic as it is... it does have a very important meaning. And with your critque in mind I hope to one day write it like it should be writen... beautifully.
