She listened to him as he explained what he knew about the Kokiri. He was correct about all that he said. She didn't know what to do and she thought that if he knew the real reason as to why she wanted to know about the Spiritual Stone of the Forest, she knew that he would understand Why this was so important to her.

She took a deep breathe and then began, "Well I'm one of them. I lied saying that I was looking for my mom. I'm one of the Kokiri and I am on a mission from the Deku Tree to look for the Spiritual Stone. My home is dying." She looked down. Reti felt ashamed for not telling Thealter the truth. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to lie to you. I just didn't know what to do. My home is at stake and I was the only one that was chosen for the job," she said. She hoped that Thealter would understand what she did.

Reti looked down at the ground and felt tears fall down her face.

OOC: Sorry this reply took so long, I've been a tad bit busy.

IC: Theater looked over Reti sympathetically, seeming to finally grasp the desperation of her mission. "I can see the concern. I forgive you for lying to me; in today's world one can never be too careful. You are not only traveling alone, but your objective is imperative. I probably would have lied myself in your situation. Well, knowing that you need the Stone to save the forest, I'd say that the Royal Family will likely shell out the Stone to save the forest.

"Deku are a large part of the population that live in the forest and depend on the forest for survival. And they actually interact with the kingdom, no offense to the Kokiri. I just think that on the risk of losing the support of vocal citizens, the Royal Family cannot afford to deny the Great Deku Tree. Perhaps you don't get the politics, being so far secluded, but even if the Kokiri didn't all come out of the forest to protest, to Deku's public outcry alone would probably be sufficient."

Thealter gave her another apologetic glance. "However, that does raise the question as to why the Deku Tree tasked you with this job, versus a Deku who was more experienced with the outside world. I suppose that having always been forest spirits, your tie with the Tree was such that the Tree would trust the Kokiri more. You were probably chosen because the Deku Tree had the most faith in you. I'm sure that if the Deku Tree trusted you, you have the capability to retrieve the stone, no matter what." Thealter smiled at the Kokiri as they continued walking.

"So, how old are you really then?" he asked, looking back ahead as they trekked the path before them.

Reti realized that she had no idea as to why she was trusted with this mission. Out of all the Kokiri she was the the least strongest, but she also had the closest relationship with the Deku Tree. Even when given the task to save her home, the others still put her down. They all had given up on her before she had even began.

She was hit by the question of her age. She hadn't really thought about how old she was in a long time. It didn't really matter to her. She began to think about this for a moment and she finally got her answer. "I'm around 80," she said. She knew this was just an estimate.

Reti looked at him and then began to explain, "I know I really don't look like much and at home I'm always seen as the weakling, but the Deku Tree has faith in me. He believes that I am the only one capable of getting this done. I know I don't know much about the outside world, but I know that saving my home is the only thing that I can do." She felt like she was going to cry. She wasn't sure if he would believe her or not, but she had told him everything.

"Well now, Reti, I'm positive that you'll succeed in your endeavor. After all, you did a fairly successful job of conning me, when you had too. That shows how dedicated you are to your objective," Thealter noted. "And, indeed, the Deku Tree must have sent you because he knew you'd be the one who could retrieve the Spiritual Stone of the Forest. The Deku Tree is wise and knowing, and I believe he must have have known what he was doing. I'm sure everything will work out just fine," he finished.

He reached to pat her on the head - not unlike comforting a sad child, before he remembered that Reti was older than him. It was bad policy to treat those older than you as children. Even more so, it was probably a racist way to treat a Kokiri. Instead, he moved his hand back up to his own scalp, smoothing out his hair which had started to fall from where it was parted into his eyes. Once he finished straightening his hair, he looked back at his new traveling companion. He sincerely hoped she could get her hands on the Stone. Not only did he not have the stomach to see her disappointed with herself, but the entire forest depended on her objective. Thealter only hoped that if things went wrong and the Royal Family could not help them, that Orpheous could be found in North Castle with some sort of remedy for the solution.

Reti looked at her new companion. She felt truly felt sorry for what she had done, but she was grateful that he realized that it was her only option. She felt a small smile raise her face with hope. When Thealter came up to her she was worried at first, but when he began to pat her head she realized it was in comfort. Out of all the people that she could have met on this journey, she was happy it was Thealter. She smiled at him and said, "Thank you. I truly am grateful that you are here."

She looked over at Taver and then at Thealter. She was happy that she had the two of them with her. She smiled at Thealter and began to walk forward. "Come on, we have a town to get too," she said with new hope and started off with a pep in her step

Thealter simply nodded at his traveling companion, realizing that anymore words would be a waste to her new found energy. They still wouldn't reach the Village of Mutoh until it was near sunset though. Thealter conserved his might, realizing that there may be unexpected obstacles on the way though. They shouldn't have to worry about monsters in the daylight, if they stayed on the main road - he hoped. But, perhaps more dangerous were those others on the road. The world was full of dark things, Thealter remembered. There were those who would see the Kokiri fail her mission, should they be made aware of its existence. They might not be many, but such people and beasts were out there.

Thealter gripped his staff just a bit tighter and glanced around shiftily, his mask hiding his concern. They'd be safe for now, but who knows that lay ahead of them. Even with his slower and seemingly more relaxed walking pace, his height allowed him to be moving at the same speed as his companion full of determination and her fairy partner. Thealter looked over at her and gave her a reassuring smile, although one he himself didn't accept.
