For his year in the REF,Gorjak was thinking his foes as trainers. He would only slightly grin and trudge on if they die,and grit his teeth in frustration if he was beaten. He hated theives to a degree, but to a degree because they did help big-time in the Quests while he was part of the REF.
However, once, while walking through the streets Gorjak saw Leon, and thought that the young man had to have at least some potential to become a decent warrior for the King, just like he is now. So,taking the delighted boy into his training,Gorjak taught him all he knew, and strained Leon's skills to the maximum to test his potential during hand-to-hand practice combat, leaping on stones over a river, running and rolling to dodge swinging axes he placed in his training "cave",etc.
Finally, after he had seen Leon's full potential,he said that Leon has the potential to become an even better warrior than him,and he added that now there was nothing more for Leon to learn from him,and that he should seek training by slaughtering monsters and beasts of Hyrule.Leaving the disappointed young man,Gorjak wanders off...
Gorjak is now running through the countryside, killing all monsters and hostile animals he finds in his way.He hardly stops at towns and if he did,it was only to rest and buy a meal. Now he has strained his skills past his former maximum, and is still fighting and racing on the countryside to further hone and sharpen his skills. He almost always rode on his strangely-coal black,ice-blue eyed,auburn-maned-and-tailed stallion,Shadow Wolf,to see how many enemies he can lance down while riding a high-speed horse that is almost always on the run.
