After quietly padding a long behind the group, Ryou slid his sword out of the sheath with a smirk. With much anticipation, he prepared to shed blood. They aren't even human...this will be enjoyable... With a swish, he flicks his blade into the air, then brings it down, to cleave the bleeding bulbin into neat pieces. Eyes alight with anticipation, the feel of combat infused him with new purpose, something to fight for.

He could almost taste the adrenaline in the air, or maybe it was just sweat. Whatever it was, he was ready to deal out death. As his blade sunders the air, his thoughts fragment into pieces, then reform with a clear picture of the world. Within the frame of a millisecond, his brain shuts down all extraneous functions as his training kicks in and his muscles go through the motions of combat. It was a good feeling to have purpose, very good indeed.

It was good to see her blessing do some good. It was a decent start to the battle, and Aria intended on improving their advantage.

Bombs were tempting, but perhaps a poor choice with those oversized larvae. The two Bulblins were being taken care of. The Armos, on the other hand, looked like it was still being held together. Yes, the Gerudo would help Alpha with the statue. She swung out with her spear, praying that the stone won't break the naginata's blade.

Not for the first time in this battle, Eberron peered round from his hiding place before quickly putting his hands over his eyes and curling up out of the way again.

"No no..."

This was ridiculous... he had to find a way to build himself up. It was just a statue. Just an animated statue that moved and was staring at him constantly whenever he looked it could be right behind him now...

"AHH!"

Eberron let out a rather high pitched squeak and jumped up, looking around wildly. No, the monster was still far away. He was still just here. Letting out a quiet sigh of relief, Eberron slumped back against the wall and sobbed quietly to himself. This was silly. Thinking of all the things he had fought and overcome so far, this was just a minor hurdle.

"Get yourself together..."

Struggling back up to his feet, Eberron brushed away a few stray tears and looked straight at the Armos.

"I really hate statues."

Well, that was a start. Eberron let out a guttural cry of rage as he charged straight at the statue, trying not to think too much about how creepy it looked while he let his fists free of any real control.

"DRAGONBANE"

His fists pounding into their target, Eberron wasn't even really aware if he was hitting, his wild flailing arms spinning around at a speed and force born of his fear.

"Hmph." He mustered, weary from having to meet with such monsters once again; it really didn't do much for his morale, having to deal with monsters that looked more or less the same.

Rosen waddled around the perimeter, feet leaving chicken scratch footprints in his wake as his eyes lied near the irksome silence that draped the maderpillars. What a shame. That his first attack wouldn't do much but nudge the creatures from their defensive slumber. Hopefully though, he'd at least help the others out with some of their burden at least.

Fingers dancing around the corners of his satchel, he found what he was looking for. A bomb. Sure, it wasn't the most powerful of tactics but all in all, those bugs would need to be poked and prodded in order for anything to pierce the glistening coat that armored them.

"Bombs away!" He muttered aloud, letting it tumble across the ground like a weed and into the foray of monsters and allies alike, surely the lights would kindle nicely through the reflections of armos and weaponry he thought.

A sigh broke through his maw, cascading from the banality of having to exert anymore of his strength after this...as he surely would once those two bugs have their own anger kindled by the fiery lights.

"What are you doing?" Darilan shouted at Rosen, "We should have only provoked one and dealt with the other after the first one was dead. Now we will have to angry bugs to fight at the same time." At least the bomb would help finish off the Bulblins, but the Goron had just created an unnecessary problem. The scribe lifted his staff and swung it at the Madderpiller's body, wishing he could squish it's guts out and end its life [Staff on Madderpiller #1].

kagari took in the pain, not trying to fall in battle. He jumped back away from the monsters and started to speak. " Remember this well. There are two types of fights. As we have put our lives in battle, we must be able to distinguish between the two.
The fight to protect life, and the fight to protect pride. This is a fight for life! Shield," He said to both his companions and to the beast as a type of warning. [sheild lv1]

"Aha!" came an unexpected burst of relief from his lips as his staff collided with the Bulblin hard enough to send it falling in a heap of filthy skin and rags. He jumped out of the way as the beast's club came flailing back in his direction. Maverick had narrowly avoided that one, to say the least. He beamed with good fortune having landed a hit and escaped one simultaneously.

The adventurers seemed to have things well under control as well. Maverick looked around at the destruction of Ganon's forces throughout the room. The Madderpillers had not been touched. This was good.

The Calatian surveyed the battle for a few moments, deciding on the best course of action. It was certainly not the time to use magic - those enormous insects wouldn't have been phased at all. It really wasn't worth it.

Or so he thought, until he turned back in time to brace himself for the terrifying explosion of Rosen's well-aimed bomb. He felt his bones vibrating as the noise subsided. It would be most unfortunate if all the bomb-tossing resulted in the entire cavernous lair coming toppling down on top of the liberation force. What really upset him was simultaneous attack on the Madderpillers. "Would have been better to take them one at a time..." he spoke blandly, adding to Darilan's sentiments. Just like a Goron to bomb first, ask questions later. It was sort of amusing, really.

However, the time for amusement would come later. Angry Madderpillers were notably painful contenders. Maverick grinned and raised his staff. The time had come, it seemed. A great surge of power erupted from the wooden gateway of his magical pool. A terrific plume of flames exploded mercilessly around the remaining baddies. Maverick was happy to help. Even despite the numerous blessings placed upon the party by Alpha, Aria and Simon, Taint is unable to hit the targeted second Bulblin a second time. His rusty iron sword nearly cleaves the wretched creature's throat, but at just the right moment the Bulblin escapes. It taunts him foolishly, obviously taking for granted the life that has been spared. It lashes out at the Zora with its club, but fails to hit the supremely agile swordsman.

Alpha is, as always it seems, much more fortunate in his offensive strategy. His staff hits the Armos with a blunt crack that echoes throughout the dimly lit underground chamber. The Armos lets out a throaty "Aaaah" and starts hopping around in a blind, surreal rage. Smashing its body weight towards Alpha, it misses altogether and ends up halfway across the room. (Armos -13 HP)

Ryou is just as unfortunate as Taint, his finishing move coming far from actually finishing off the near-dead Bulblin. Even on the verge of blackout, the vile soldier is still able to defend itself. Its club comes up in front of its torso and deflects the sword with relative ease, but knocks the Bulblin off guard. The second Bulblin comes to his ally's aid, thrusting madly at Ryou with its gnarled club but also finding it difficult to hit.

Aria, on the other hand, is the first to find true victory in this battle. Her spear hits some sort of terrific pressure point in the Armos Knight's stone build, and after cracking the exterior of the enemy, the entire weapon passes directly through to the other side. An unreal groan comes from within the animate statue as it crumbles to pieces and Aria's spear is set free. (Armos Knight Defeated)

Of course, Eberron will be surprised to see that while his attack misses its intended target, it is simply due to the fact that in his frenzied offense the statue has already been taken care of.

Rosen's explosives do a decent job of trimming down the competition. While the Madderpillers are unaffected by the blast, both Bulblins are lost in the colossal explosion resulting from the Goron's overly-effective use of a bomb. As the blast clears, all that remains of the two enemies are a pair of battered clubs and a handful of Rupees. (Bulblin 1 & 2 Defeated; Rosen +10 Rupees)

While the Madderpillers are not harmed by the blast, they are certainly not amused by it. Both insects charge up and enter a phase of absolute rage, their agility and strength doubling. The first instantly sets its sight on the elderly Rosen, however even for its increase in speed it is unable to hit the Goron. The second is also unable to hit. For all their anger, they are still nothing in status after the grand buffs given by Alpha, Aria and Simon.

Darilan's staff smashes past the defenses of the first Madderpiller. His Sheikah speed proves better than the insect's poor temper, and a hefty blow is dealt to the angry beast. It retaliates, but for a second time it is proven the slower of the two. Its attack misses completely. (Madderpiller 1 -13 HP)

Kagari was wise to learn to shield himself, especially with the threat of Ganon still lingering over Hyrule. His spell effectively grants him an addition to his defense. (Kagari +25% DEF)

The bad fortune of the Madderpillers continues as Maverick steps up to show off his fully honed Elemental Explosion. Neither of the two are able to resist the Calatian mage's show of pyrotechnics, and both are swallowed by the powerful, blazing explosion. As it clears, both Madderpillers are severely damaged. (Madderpiller 1 & 2 -24 HP)

The first Madderpiller lingers at death's door, and attempts to attack the mage who caused it such grief. As before, it is unable to do so, and Maverick escapes without a trace of damage. The battle appears to be going wonderfully in favour of the adventurers. Valens confirms this himself as he finishes off the weakest Madderpiller and also avoids retaliation from the remaining foe. With his foe defeated by someone else, Taint quickly searches around the room for something else to swing at. As the smoke from the bomb clears, there is one weakened enemy left. With all he's got left, the Zora took off in the Madderpillar's direction, sword in hand. When he came close enough to the creature, he swung madly, keeping as much distance between himself and his foe as he could.

Realizing he was pretty much all but superfluous in the current conflict, Sabertache retired to a corner as the others swamped the Madderpiller. It wasn't going to make it out alive, and he may as well get a start on investigating the place.

Aside from the painfully obvious corpses and adventurers in the room, there had to be something else of interest. Monsters seldom hung out in ordinary, empty rooms. There must be a chest or switch or locked door of some sort around the premises, and getting it taken care of now whilst the others overkilled a lone madderpiller would mean a swift transition to the next room. Alpha grinned as he watched Aria's naginata shatter the statue, but quickly reacted as he felt the hair on the back of his neck prick up. There was some powerful magic being readied - stronger than any he had felt coming from an adventurer. He almost wondered if a Wizzrobe had emerged and started attacking, but then his eyes fell upon Maverick on the sidelines, charging up a truly powerful spell - he could sense its strength from across the room! Almost not willing to trust such a spell, the Sheikah glanced about and then simply dodged for the floor as the flames erupted outward - the man had found himself too close to one of the Madderpillars, and only barely avoided being fried by the massive - and rather impressive - blast of energy.

Rising back to his feet, he saw a number of Adventurers already charging for the sole remaining monster in the room. No doubt they could finish it off with ease; he, like Saber before him, decided that there really wasn't any reason to bother with the creature, and instead began examining the various parts of the chamber, especially looking for anywhere that a key could be hidden to open the locked doorway. Aria did not expect her spear to actually pass through the statue, but she couldn't let her surprise distract her from the battle. However, none of her foes had decided to attack her, and someone's bomb had efficiently decimated the Bulblins.

But the thing that did freeze her in mid-battle stance is the magic that man, Myron Rockefeller, wielded. Such awesome power....The Gerudo felt an urge to learn how to master a spell like that, but she immediately repressed it. No, she wouldn't, couldn't, learn any thing like that. Not until Aldrea could guarantee that their fellow Gerudos would no longer persecute witches among their own race.

The female ranger tore her eyes away from Rockefeller. Several others were aiming to kill the final Madderpillar, and she wouldn't probably only get in the way. Saber and Alpha seemed to be looking around the room for something, and it looked like something that was a good idea to imitate. Not quite sure what to look for, she let those two search the room while she used her foot to move around the rubble from the Armos she destroyed. [Awareness Check]

Eberron clapped his hands together enthusiastically, a happy squeaking noise escaping his throat as he watched his allies finish off all but the last scary insect monster. Still, no where near as scary as the statue. Smiling warmly, Eberron felt a deep feeling of satisfaction. The group seemed to have split off into those exploring and those dealing with the remaining threat. Considering his current experience of exploration, and his rather large and clumsy frame, Eberron decided that he would have to stick to doing what he knew how to do. Smashing things. Running towards the remaining foe, Eberron laughed merrily as his fists came crashing down to crush whatever would be left of the bug after his allies had dealt with it.
