Beg pardon, Madam Sage, but I wonder...how do Rito earn their wings? My cousin, an archmage, says that according to the old legends, the blessings of the dragon god Valoo were required to give your ancestors their wings.
(Aside) Since Valoo is a god (at least he's described as such in TWW) he could technically still be around unless (like Kami, the Guardian of Earth in DB and DBZ) his lifespan was finite.

Dogura is amazed by her elegance... he bows to her and begins to speak. I must thank you, for when i was just a boy, my village was saved by you and some ruto soldiers... if you have a favor to ask, or an errand to be run, i will be glad to assist you... Dogura waits for a response

OOC: Hmm, no responses in a while. Perhaps if someone were to ask about the history of this Hyrule?...

IC: Lady Rose pulled her cloak tighter to herself. She knew that it became cold high up in the mountains, but even with her winter clothes and her cloak on, she was frozen to the bone. It seemed that this mountain was higher than even Tarm Mountain back in her homeland, if she could even call it that. Even so, Tarm Mountain was taller than Rolling Ridge.

Lady Rose saw the Rito in purple clothe. In Holodrum, purple meant nobility. If it was different in Hyrule, or this alternate Hyrule she was sent to, or even for the Ritos, she knew not. All she knew was that this female Rito looked important and quite knowledgable, if not wise. She approached with caution and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, madam Rito," she said, "and sorry if I do not address you correctly. I know only that you are of the Rito race, but I thought Ritos lived on the Great Sea. What is a city full of Ritos doing this far into the mainland, if you do not mind my asking?"

OOC: Sorry guys. Looks like this is just another topic that we mods have been neglecting...our bad. :(

IC:
Adali turns to face Lady Rose as the chilled woman approaches her. Upon hearing her questions, she grins. "We Rito long ago spread out over the entire world. At least a few of our number now populate every country and nearly every city on the planet. As you can see," she says as she holds up a wing, "we have certain traits that make us quite helpful as messengers or mailmen; not just on the Great Sea, but everywhere.

"As for this city of New Peaktop, it is just a city of our own design, built for our winged race to congregate within."

Lady Rose nodded. "Everything here is different," she mutters. "Ritos are on the mainland, the Sheikah are alive, and the Hylians seem to be friendly. How can this Hyrule be so different from the one I grew up knowing?"

OOC: I know, but Lady Rose doesn't. Man, I love being a writer. :D

Adali gives the woman a confused look. "I'm afraid I do not understand what you are saying. We Rito came to live on the mainlands long ago. While the Sheikah population has always been rather small, their existence has never been questioned. And the Hylians have always been known for their kindness and hospitality. Hyrule has been this way for countless centuries; how can you say it is different?"

OOC: Great, isn't it? 8)

Lady Rose's head snapped up. She didn't think anyone had heard her. "The goddesses came to me in a dream and told me that there were many versions of Hyrule. Then they sent me to this one. I wish they had told me why they did so. The dimension I come is different. Ruto remained on the Great Sea, the Sheikah died out during the Imprisoning War, and the Hylians attempted to conquer Holodrum, the land I was born to." I have go to stop lying to myself, Lady Rose thought, still hating her parents for how they treated her. "Although that was about a hundred years ago, I've been told they were still cold-hearted. Whether this is true, I don't know. I have only been to Holodrum and Labrynna before I came here. Well, thank you for your time, ma'am. I'll head off now if there is nothing more to do in New Peaktop." Lady Rose waved good bye and headed back down the mountain.

OOC: Let's hope everyone either reads this, the explanation I gave in North Forest, or in my profile. I'll explain it again in another topic if need be. By the way, I noted that someone (Kasei, I believe) had mentioned something about the goddesses being seen in Hyrule again. I will not be using the goddesses as NPCs in any storyline I come up with.

"Are there going to be any shops here soon?" Sovlis boldly asks the Rito Sage.

Adali simply stares into the oncoming wind, allowing it to blow her hair along with it. "There are already many shops in this area, my friend. But few have any importance to you on your adventuring."

" Oh... Ok, Sorry to waste your time, ma'am.'' Sovelis replies as he leaps from the cliff, landing on the ground below. *SMASH* "I'M OK!!! I LANDED ON MY HEAD!!"

OOC: Uh... I'm a zelda expert, and I know that, in order for a Rito to be the Wind Sage, it would have had to be part of the Kokiri bloodline. She could be the Earth sag, but not the wind.

OOC: Well, a sage could be any person who has awesome magical powers, such as Saleh in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. A Sage of Wind doesn't necessarily have to be descended from The Sage of Wind. Also, I looked up sage, and as a noun (and not meaning the herb) it means one distinguished for wisdom; it says nothing about magic. Of course, this is good old Webster, and not some encylcopedia of magic terms, but still.

OOC: Well, Jack, a.k.a. THE GREAT AND ALMIGHTY NARRATOR, originally made this topic. It could be (though I'm not entirely certain about this, as it's been a while since I've read his Compendium) that Jack works under the assumption that each Sage is 'related' only by the fact that they are chosen by the goddesses to be Sages, rather than blood.

Narrator wrote:A short Rito female, wearing elegant purple robes (and thus betraying her status as a Sage), stands ahead.
The rebel flame, Kasei, is visiting new peaktop, as there are some herbs here that only grow in the mountain soil, and he was low on medicine. Once his bag was full of the small plants, Kasei was heading to the exit of the tower city. He then spied on the Rito sage, and faced her. "Hail, sage of winds! How goes your day?" He asked politely.

Adali turns to the approaching Sheikah, giving him a small smile as his kind greeting reaches her ears. "The wind blows calmly today, my friend, and what a blessing that is," she says with an upbeat voice, belying her happiness at the peacefulness coming over Hyrule, while still managing to retain her elegant nature. "And you, good Sheikah? How is this day treating you?"
