before cloud can activate the spell, zori grabs the staff and destroys it...

Staff broken, oh well.

Cloud picks up the pieces of his staff and waved his hands over it. The staff instantly repaired itself and Cloud cast Elemental Explosion. But not before turning his staff into his (Indestructible) Doom Bringer.
