The Mayor shakes his head at the throng assembled before him, "The North-South Passage will remain closed. These are dark days, unfortunately."

The popping sound of cork escaping the lips of a new bottle.

"A horrible creature named Gohma has taken up residence in the tunnel. Until the Hylian Knights can ride against her and her hordes, I am keeping the tunnel closed."

The pouring of a freshly bubbling liquid.

"If only there were others who could do stop the vile monster..."

The rush of booze through teeth and gum.

You are crazy, Mr. Mayor. In your presence are many fine fighters, mages, and other people who could help defeat this Gohma creature. Yet somehow, you did not think that we were those who you are looking for. I know that I for one would gladly take up arms to defeat the vile Gohma.

"I volenteer as well, mayor. My skills as a healer could very well come in handy."

"You think you are strong enough to fight a giant spider? Ha! Perhaps a test is in order... leave me now, and I will come up with something. If you can pass my test, you may face Gohma while flying the banner of Ruto Town."

"I shall take this test up,as well,"Leon replies with dignity."My master has faced far worse than an oversized arachnid and her puny hench-arachnids.The worst it could possibly do is spew a tight web,which I doubt is difficult to dodge.I volunteer.".With one last bow,Leon clamly walks out of the presence of the Mayor.

"As you wish, Sir Mayor..." The Deku says before turning and beginning to exit. At the door, he looks back at the Mayor "Do you know when this "test" will be?" Thinking about how nonsensical this test is, he realizes he may first need weaponry, he calls out "I will be back, get ready."

"Bah, I whatever you throw, us Deku can handle it!"
(In Deku): "As long as fire isn't involved."

Pende follows Grenada.

(In Deku:) "Bah, I can't belive that drunk is making us do some stupid test after i went through all that trouble getting that trophy. I thikn we could take on an overgrown spider. I could probably smush it with my mere staff. I wouldn't be surprized if a good smack on the head is all it really needs. Of course, that wouldn't really work, it was just hyperbole."

""Im in for a chalange! I remember hearing stories that Gahoma is weak to slingshots."

"I also think Gohma would be weak against fire,"said Leon thoughtfully as he returns.But as he was about to lit up a fire,the match did nothing...the box and its contents were soaked and muddy!"Argh,I should've watched my step!No fires now,"Leon mutters.

Sheng Long looks up at the mayor, his eyes alight with adreniline. A wide smile crosses his face.

HA! Battle! Finaly a chance to hone my skills! I am ready to face any challenge.

The hall has become very loud, with only a little mention of a battle.

Motionlessness from Arco indicated that he was processing this thought. He chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment, and then froze again.

But some of these are not so strong as a monster arachnid who's size has been magically and exponentially increased over time! How can they be sure about a creature that they've never seen before? What if we should be as spiders to this spider?

His unimpressive stare was pulled across the crowd. Fighters, strong and lithe, and weavers of magic. His leaden gaze stopped on one of them.

"Skills as a healer"? But how many heals until this fellow is rendered... exhausted?

Similar thoughts came and went. A few times Arco would fidget in an expression that was ready to shout, "But, but, BUT!" But... nothing. He stood up and relocated himself to a... darker table. And farther away from the Mayor. The trophy pile gleamed, nonetheless.

The Mayor of Ruto gives almost an excessively wide grin as he scoops up the trophy. His mouth opens and his thanks tumble out. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Arco has earned one TP.

"A test? If it is nescessary for us to prepare and under stand what we are dealing with, then we shall take it. One way or another, I will help you rid of that... creature."

'Giant spider?' Raven echoed quietly.

Ever since he woke up to see a spider directly in front of him when he was younger he has been afraid of them and that fear was now present in his eyes. He took a breath to compose himself before saying:

'Giant spider? No problem! And your test will also pose no challenge.' Raven said with much gusto.
