Raven stands up still wondering what might be in the water depths, there would be that much water in a room for no reason - would there? He walks to center ring and stands at the juction where the walkway to the second door meets the ring at the center of the water filled room.

Underwater, Alex beamed at his discovery, and he instantly rocketed his way back to the surface to tell the others. His head poked over the water and he tread in place while he spoke. "Hey, Shada! There's a grate about fifty feet down. It's rusted over, but I bet I could open it if I tried." The Zora did not see any reason why this might be necessary, but perhaps there would be some use in emptying the room of its fluid.

Blank smiled as he watched Arco checking over the room's details, noting that his exploring seemed to be the exact opposite of the bard's. He grabbed the door's knob and turned it, testing to see if it was locked. He noticed that Tayro had not managed to find anything significant about the door, and so he was not entirely sure if anything bad would happen. Nonetheless, he turned the handle and attempted to open the door. He almost laughed thinking about how he was the only one reckless enough to this. Or maybe the only one stupid enough.

OOC: I've noticed that we're ahead of the other event already. Maybe we should resume that one, as well.

OOC: I wish we would Blank. I sure wish we would...

IC:
There was a very good reason that Tayro's check fail to return any results. He was too focused on the door.

As Blank steps up to grab the handle, one of the blocks in the marble flooring gives way, sinking only an inch. Before Blank can move out of the way, something forces him backwards, nearly falling into the water himself. As he watches on, a bit of chilly water quickly spreads from the cracks in the doorframe to completely cover the entire doorway in a thick, impenetrable layer of ice.

The door they came through does nothing so dramatic. It gets the old, but still effective, metal bars treatment.

The same rumble that Arco had felt earlier shakes the room, this time a little bit louder. If Alex had remained down by the grating, he would have seen it slowly opening up. His suggestion of opening the grate was a very foolish one indeed, for soon it rises from depths...

Alex is hurled from the pool as the water shoots up like a geyser, and the Zora collides with Blank, knocking him to the ground. The geyser slowly dies away, revealing the hideous creature lying beneath it. It looks like a giant squid, only it is pitch black, with blood-red eyes and several dark purple boils covering its upper shell. Six long, armored tentacles rise out of the water as well as the beast floats up to its full height. It takes up the entire center of the room, a full seventy feet in width, and it floats nearly two hundred feet tall, almost touching the top of the dome.

Rose gasps at the beast. But she quickly pulls out her boomerang and throws it at the giant squid.

OOC: Scientists spent how long looking for a giant squid when all they had to do was get captured by the Hakiems? :D

OOC: Well HNS, if they want to see this one, Zaboorak will be more than happy to let them be devoured.

IC:
Rose's boomerang flies towards Dyquis, a certain hit (18+3[Roll+AGI]). But then one of the tentacles comes and wacks it out of the air. It is knocked straight back to its owner, but no DMG is done.

OOC: Dyquis, being so powerful, attacks a bit differently. Once six of you have attempted to strike it, it will get its vengeance.

Blank had fallen backwards, but at least his hand had not been encased in ice. He jumped up jovially, shaking his head. He turned around, and instantly performed another terrified leap. Flying at him at a swift pace was Alex, who had somehow been propelled from the water. Blank could not see what it was, as he now had a Zora laying on top of him. The nomad grunted and shoved Alex off of him and stood yet again.

It was then that he noticed this new monster. When did this get here? he thought in shock, instinctively drawing his sword (as one could assume by this point, it was a habit of his) and stepped back. Directly into the ice. He gave a surprised yelp and leaped forward, his back freezing. He shuddered at the sight of the horrible beast. The tentacles alone made him feel tiny and helpless, but he managed to summon the courage to attack the closest one.

In his usual manner, he strafed along the marble walkways until he was close enough, and when he found he was close enough to the deadly tentacles, he struck, bringing his Deku Sword upwards at his target, preying that he would not miss.

Raven crouches as the geyser of water drenches him once again. Seeing the creature up close he finds it had not to be repulsed by the sight of it. His feeling of repulsion are soon over taken by feelings of anger as he rushes towards it, holding his dagger high, he brings it down hard at one of the purple boils covering its shell. 'I hate getting wet!' he roars.

OOC: Oh, damn it. I'm in for a world of pain now, huh? Maybe I shouldn't have been so cocky. :( And is anyone else putting on some battle music for this? :D

Blank's strike pierces the tentacle's soft underside (16+2[Roll+AGI]) and deals 11 DMG to the beast. Immediately one of the crimson pupils that the beast sports fall upon the Nomad, angrily choosing him to be the main target of its attack.

As Raven flies at Dyquis' boil covered head, the creature's tentacle slaps him out of the air. The Sheikah's armor buffers the light tap, so he suffers no damage, but it becomes increasingly obvious that the tentacle's speed is great.

And indeed it is:
Tentacles: 2 STR, 3 DEF, 10 AGI, 0 INT, 0 SPI, 0 SPL, 15 HP

Tentacle 1: 4 HP
Tentacle 2: 15 HP
Tentacle 3: 15 HP
Tentacle 4: 15 HP
Tentacle 5: 15 HP
Tentacle 6: 15 HP

Raven lands heavily and realises that if he wants to do any damage to the thing the tentacles have to go. He grips his dagger tightly and waits for a tentacle to get close enougth so he can return the slap with one of his own.

As the rumble commences, Arco's body seems to snap into a ready stance--legs slightly bent, arms defensively stretched to his sides, head looking this way and that--it's very stereotypical "what's that noise" behavior, all in all.

Once Dyquis fully emerges, Arco hesitates and moves back closer to the wall, his eyes deepening. A pause...

Tentacles... hard shell... huge... purplish, probably poisonous?...

...The Bard sprints to the center of the room with a gasp of "Everyone spread out!" Or did he just say it in his head? Spread out... watch the poison... only counterattack on the tentacles if you can take one out with a single hit...

He then sheathes his dagger, his left hand re-emerging, holding his hurdy-gurdy. The Sheikah glances quickly around the room, noting that everyone seems to be close enough, and with one knee propping the instrument up, he begins to turn the crank as the fingers of his right hand start to fly.

The light in the room changes, seems to ebb and flow, and then turns a dim green shade. Something like a small, greenish raincloud forms over each party-member, and then, a soft mist of a rain begins to fall... a rain of leaves, ginkgo and lilac. And, as if it were just a mist, they disappear like snowflakes when they hit your skin.

And then, the music. It seems to enter you and mix with your blood, increasing your strength from within, from everywhere but your ears. What your ears hear is singing. A vocalise. Wind. The clamor of a forest. And the hurdy-gurdy's persistent, circular rhythm. Agitato! Devenstrenet! Crescendi'att! It's the recognizable strains of the Will of Farore.

Finally, you realize, with some satisfaction, that your body is enveloped in the faintest glow of light green. The strange rainclouds peel away, and the light returns to its former strange brightness, but the effects of the song continue to stir within you.

OOC: There's your battle music, Feet ^^. Will of Farore, L1. +4, 3 rounds (not sure how you'll do rounds though XD), 7 SPL.

OOC: To HNS, I have my good old Dave Matthews Band playing, that's all the battle music I need :P

And Alpha... didn't you say that attacks on the tentacle for this turn would get 2x damage? I may have misunderstood...

IC: Blank was relieved that his attack had made its mark on the tentacle, and he sneered condescendingly at it as it singled him out as a target for its attack. Not wasting any time, the nomad swung his sword again, this time directing his attack at a different tentacle. It became painstakingly obvious after Rose's and Raven's failed attacks that the Tentacles would have to be removed before the head could even be touched.

Alex picked up on this, and leaped at a third tentacle, swinging his dagger madly at it as he homed in for a quick thrust. (OOC: I really don't have time for detailed descriptions of Alex's attacks, unfortunately :P )

OOC: Off to work now, see you guys later, perhaps much later, we'll see :)

OOC: Ummm...Weien, it's +3. But whatever.

No, Blank, you only get the double DMG after they attack with the tentacle strike.

IC:
Blank's second strike misses (2+5[Roll+AGI*]), but Alex's hits home (18+6[Roll+AGI*]), dealing 7 DMG.

Shada launches herself at one of the tentacles as it gets close enough to her. Twin daggers flying, she manages to take a sizable chunk of the tentacle's stamina away from it (9+10[Roll+AGI*]), doing 11 DMG.

Dyquis, having entertained these small creatures long enough, raises all six of its tentacles high into the air, then spins around like a rocket. Blank, Arco, Alex, Shada, Raven, and Rose are all hit, taking 8 DMG each.

Arco: 23 HP, 8 SPL
Shada: 33 HP
Blank: 33 HP
Rose: 23 HP
Raven: 23 HP
Alex: 24 HP

Tentacle 1: 4 HP
Tentacle 2: 15 HP
Tentacle 3: 8 HP
Tentacle 4: 4 HP
Tentacle 5: 15 HP
Tentacle 6: 15 HP

Dyquis: 100 HP, 20 SPL

OOC: Now you do x2 DMG. But only to the tentacles.

Rose was sent flying. "That's it," she mutters. She draws her dagger and inches to Dyquis and attempts to attack a tentacle with it (1st tentacle).
