OOC: How do we do duels on this site. Just take turns, or what?

"Well, here and know? You can start."
OC: We take turns typing our attacks. The either defend or get hit.

"Alright, if you say so." In the time it takes to blink, Alpha dashes forward, staff suddenly appearing in his hands. His breathing quickens as he brings the Deku Staff around his back and swings it forward, aiming for Denning's stomach.

Alpha sees the attack coming, but is unable to avoid it fully. He leans to the side so that it is only a glancing blow to his calf that helps propel his sideways flip. In the space of three seconds, he lands on his feet, seemingly unscathed, though there is a slight pain in his leg, jumps with his other leg, brings his staff up, and aims a powerful blow at the back of Denning's head.

Alpha watches as Denning flies to the ground, then gets up and goes on the defensive. 'Hmmm...he expects that I'll attack now, so I won't. Instead..." He leaps away from the entrance into the shadows, and suddenly disappears from sight. The only sound that he makes the entire time is when he says "Shadowmeld."

Well, so were playing it this way? Fine by me!
"Playin skills Alpha? Well two can play at that. Shadowmeld!"
Denning slips into the shadow. He then acreates five sheilds all in a line. He is in one.

"Well, well, well...an interesting counter, Denning," Alpha comments as he returns to visibility. 'Five shields...20% chance of hitting him...not too good. I need a plan of my own.' He smiles as an idea hits him. "Alright, let's see how my counter works." He jumps up against the stone wall farthest from the shields to prevent any attacks from behind. Keeping his senses tuned to every sound, he lifts a nearby boulder onto his shoulders, then flings it at the rightmost shield.

Internally, Alpha sighs. He had hoped that with the boulder taking up his time Denning would attack him. He isn't surprised at all, of course; Denning’s much smarter than that. So he simply picks up another boulder, throwing it this time at the left-most shield.

Alpha senses the attack coming, but it is so swift that he cannot avoid it. He flies to the ground. "Good hit, Denning..." he comments as he tries to regain his breath. With rage fueling his abilities, he suddenly shoots up like an arrow from a bow, staff aimed for Denning's stomach.

Alpha steps back in the shadows, up against the wall farthest from where Denning lies. His life's experiences have taught him to never assume an opponent is down. And what's more, he doubts that an attack that weak could have defeated his fellow Sheikah.
