Hyrule Adventures 2

Alpha enters the next room, glancing this way and that to see if there is anything interesting in sight. The rain hinders his sight slightly, but he can still spot something in the distance. Wary that it may be another foe, he draws his staff before cautiously walking forward.

As you approach the center of the room, you notice a large pit. It appears to be circular, and in the middle you notice a patch of land that is higher than what you are on. A chest is seen because it sits on this side.

Raven walks cautiously into the new room. Knowing that such a place isn't without it's traps. Judging by the pit this place was no exception.

At the sight of a chest, Victor quickly becomes excited. But before he can run to open it, he notices the pit. Falling down that wouldn't help the team much.

Turning to Alpha, Victor queried his friend:

"What do you think we should do, Alpha?"

"Well," Alpha says slowly, "it would probably be to our advantage to somehow get over there. The question is 'How?'" He considers for a moment, then says, "I'm going to try and circle around the hole, and see if there's an easy way up." He begins walking slowly to the right, sticking to the edge, and looks around for a way to get over to the chest.

"Seems logical."

Victor nods at Alpha's suggestion and then begins to go around the pit as well, but to the left instead. He chose to keep his distance from the pit, so as not to fall in accidentally, but he kept a sharp eye out for any kind of catwalk to the chest...

Surprisingly, on the other side, a wooden bridge leads the way up. It looks rather new, as the brown isn't faded and it is missing no boards or anything.

As Victor reaches the opposite side of the pit, he sees the bridge. Still feeling brave, he decided to cross the walkway. But before getting on, he called out to Alpha:

"Alpha! There's a path over here!"

Satisfied that he quickened Alpha's search, Victor began crossing the bridge, chest in sight...

Alpha eyes the bridge warily. "That's way too easy," he thinks aloud. But, like it or not, it does seem to be the best way to get across. So, cautiously, he puts one foot on it, carefully listening for the tell-tale *CRACK!* that will let him know the bridge is breaking. He waits for Victor to finish crossing. 'Too much weight could snap it,' he thinks. So he silently watches as Victor walks across, waiting for the bard to finish his trek so he may begin his.

As both Victor and Alpha walk in opposite directions Raven makes a random choice between left and right and decides to take the left path, and makes his way to where Victor had found a path leading to the chest. To see him already walking across what looked like a sturdy bridge.

Victor successfully crosses the bridge, not even a sway. He is left standing on a circular pad that is not very big. The chest is straight across from the end of the bridge.

Seeing Victor successfully cross, Alpha begins walking as well, and soon joins the bard on the other side. He looks at the chest, and waves a hand towards it. "Would you care to do the honors, Victor?"

A smile now stretching across his face, Victor moved towards the chest.

"Don't mind if I do!"

But on his way there, he had the same thought Alpha had had: it was too easy. Therefore, the bard unsheathed his dagger and held it at the ready, just in case.

When he reached the chest, he bent down and tilted slightly to match the chest's overturned postition and attempted to open it...

As soon as Victor slits open the lid of the chest from the base, a large crash comes from behind them. In addition, the sound of churning is heard and a rumbling underneath their feet is felt.

For the second time since the start of the quest, Victor's shoulders sagged. He knew it was too good to be true. He yelled back at Alpha:

"What's going on?!"

As he was waiting for an answer, Victor searched the inside of the chest in desperation, looking for some kind of treasure...
