OOC: WOW...we're on PAGE 60!!! I have to admit, I never expected this would be so long. I LOVE IT!!!

IC:
Rose's sword drives deep into its target (9+4[Roll+AGI] vs. 10), and the Kroperg lets off a shocked squeal as it actually does some damage! 7 DMG to be precise.

Shada leaps out from behind the beast and rips apart some of the boar's bare skin with her twin daggers (9+7[Roll+AGI]), dealing 11 DMG to the Kroperg.

In a vicious rage, the Kroperg turns around and gallops straight towards the first target that its eyes fall upon: Blank. Ramming the Grunt with its full force (10+10[Roll+AGI]), Blank is dealt 15 DMG from its Wild Charge.

Kasei loses 3 HP to poison.

Blank: 26 HP
Kasei: 20 HP, poisoned 2 turns

Kroperg: 179 HP

Alex: Only if you guys decide to remember what I said near the beginning of this fight...which, I must say, you're proving to be a very difficult task for you guys...

...I expected better of you all...which leads me to another question.....

Weien: Where are you? I trust you've already figured it out; it's not against the rules to post the answer, you know.
OOC: Somehow, I still doubt we're entirely... on the right track... That was mentioned after you guys started pelting it with seeds, and now it appears we're in the clear. So what happened to the "mystery strategy?" I guess we'll see soon enough :P

IC:

Blank grinned as he watched the explosive tool flickering on the floor, indicating that it was only seconds away from going off. As it did, Blank was able to catch a glimpse of the intended target. Oh no... thought Blank as Kasei's bomb exploded, sending a small bit of mud from the floor hurtling through the air at his face. He wiped the mess away; that wasn't what bothered him.

What really bothered him was the fact that the floor remained exactly as it was, the bomb had achieved nothing. Seeing that his spontaneous tactic had failed, the Hylian decided that an explanation was in order. Although the battle was still in fast-pace motion, he was able to speak his mind without the Kroperg interfering. "Alright... well darn. What I was hopin' for was a good sized hole for that... thing to fall through. Everywhere we've been in this place has been water, water, water. So if it's wet upstairs, who's to say it's not wet downstairs, too? Right?" Clearly, his plan had not been as valuable as he had intended. Not that it mattered, for at that moment he turned towards the boar, only to be covered by the soaked, filthy hair of the wild hog. Brushing every strand off of himself, Blank clutched is sword, twitching. Now was the opportune moment for a good game of stabbety-stab, and while the boar had regained ts excellent agility, its defense was... not going to be sufficient for that purpose.

Blank raised his arms, left and right. Gazing at his empty left hand, he scowled and threw the limb behind him, bringing a battered chunk of soaked Deku Wood with him as the arm returned to his torso. It was just that; a handy plank of wood with an odd red swirl marked on its front, although the insignia had faded and had lost most of its recognition. In fact, the nomad was not entirely sure that this shield was capable of defending anymore. As the water that had collected in its cracks filtered out and dripped to the floor, he almost thought of using it as a sort of projectile. But then he would have nothing to occupy his left hand with. As soon as he escaped from the lair of the Hakiems, he would have to go out and buy that second sword.

His right arm still holding the wooden sword, a grin crept back onto Blank's face as he stepped cautiously over the the bald - and now even more hideous - Kroperg. He stood still for a moment, but then decided that he was easy prey, standing so close to the boar and yet not moving. He took a wild charge as punishment, and stood, gasping for air. The horrible odor pressing against him was probably the greatest factor in the horrendous damage toll. But now he was thoroughly enraged at the beast. He probably stunk, and this would not do. Gripping the one-handed sword tightly, he thrust it into the creature's side with all his might.

OOC: EDITED because I'm too slow XD

OOC: Kasei, that was great! I knew you had it in you somewhere! :D Just keep that up, and we can get along with your posts! And great to see Kroperg is finally falling! Great idea Dream illusionist! And i cant belive Dogura hasnt even ben hit! Maybe its because ive been using a dodge check every turn. Ill give the poor thing a chance to hit me this time

IC: "Its about time!" Dogura said joyfully. "Its armor is finally gone! Great one Tayro!" He says, patting Tayro on the back. Dogura dashed around side the beast, and instead of attacking, leapt back, putting distance between the beast and himself. He shot his hands up in the air, and called upon the favor of the godesses. The godesses prepared to work their magic on the vagabond, before he cried out in prayer, "Its not me!" Dogura said virtually unscathed. "Heal the man over there!" He nodded to Blank. "He isnt in the best condition. Heal him with your power."

After those words were spoken, the samurai, unsheathed his blade once again, grinning now. The bloodthirsty look in his eyes proved he was truly out to kill the stampedeing Kroperg. His blade was gleaming, and it too seemed to yearn for some action. This time, rather than attacking the beast from behind, he charged straight at the beast, aiming for its eye, hoping to throw off its chance to hit, by blinding the beast in one eye.

Dogura had waited for this moment. For too long, had he wanted to stab at the beast. Now was his chance. His chance to get back at the pig, for all the damage he caused his... "friends." He said aloud, as he brought his blade down on the mighty Kroperg with all the might he could muster, in his right arm. Finally, all of the weakening would pay off, and now no longer having to worry about one less ally, he prepared to deal major damage. "At long last... blood!" Dogura cried.

OOC: I'd make this go faster by using my magic, but I doubt a fire spell will help us, and I don't want to risk an Elemental Burst right now.

IC:
Rose grins. Finally, they were getting somewhere. She turns around to face the pig again. Seeing Dogura go for the eyes, she decides to go for a leg. She dashes to the nearest hind leg and slashes at it.

Blank's blade slices through the beast's skin (15+2[Roll+AGI]), and now that the fur is no longer creating a fluffy barrier against attacks, the sword causes its maximum 11 DMG.

Dogura's Innate Check succeeds (11+5[Roll+INT] vs. 15), and three bright lights fall upon Blank's body, restoring the Nomad back to his full health. His sword strike, however, fails to connect as the Kroperg flashes past the group (4+6[Roll+AGI]). The attack, though powerful, only hits the dirt.

Rose's blade, on the other hand, slices into the pork's leg (10+4[Roll+AGI]) and deals some major damage - 7 to be precise.

The Kroperg, more furious than it has ever been in its life, turns around and bears its tusks menacingly. But does it intend to use its poison tactic again? No, of course not.

That would be too easy.

With a devastating roar, the boar looks deep inside itself to the fiery heart that rages within. Opening its mouth of wide, an enormous column of flames emerge and extend throughout the entire room, instantly seeking out and consuming whatever it can find - which is everything in the arena. The ice fragments still around instantly melt, dripping into the cracks in the floor, and the fur they had held is incinerated as well. The adventurers are not spared either - not one bit, for no matter how hard they try, they cannot resist the intensity of the heat that covers them.

Surprisingly, however, their Deku weaponry seems untouched by the fire. That's odd. (OOC: Honestly, I didn't think about that until just now, so...work with me here...)

Satisfied for once in its evil life, the beast almost seems to grin as the level of warmth in the room intensifies. Everyone is dealt 8 DMG by the inferno - except for Grenada, who loses an additional 5 HP from the blast.

New ability: Furnace Storm – The Kroperg spits out a flaming wall that cannot be resisted (mostly because I'm too lazy to calculate all that). 8 DMG. Area of attack. 14 SPL

Kasei loses 3 HP to poison.

Shada: 21 HP
Link: 15 HP
Kasei: 9 HP, poisoned 1 turn
Arco: 23 HP
Grenada: 13 HP
Blank: 33 HP
Rose: 33 HP
Victor: 21 HP
Cloud: 15 HP
Raven: 23 HP
Denning: 25 HP
Tayro: 15 HP
Azador: 25 HP
Dogura: 19 HP

OOC: Hey, i havent been toughed the whole battle right? Ive dodged everything, if anything that has been thrown at me! Shouldnt i be at atleast 32 HP right? Thats minus 8. And are we allowed to use Favor of the godesss more than once per battle? If so, how many turns until we can?

IC: Doguras blade had missed. He was furiouse at himself, and the pig. He hadnt landed a good hit yet, and his thirst was getting too much for him to bear. He felt something inside of him clio change. "D-Damn it... If i dont get blood.. it will.... ugghhh" Was all he could mutter, before he felt himself morphing into the beingthat would be the Kroperg's demise.

OOC: Dogura, you can use Favor of the Goddesses as often as you want, providing you have the SPL for it. Note that "Favor of the Goddesses is L1 Life by a different name," only you don't have to spend the TP to buy it. Still costs SPL though.

Steam raises off of the cloak of the wet Sheikah. Uncurling himself from the crouched postion he adopted when the wall of fire swept towards him he rubs his hand over his sleeve. 'Still damp.' He mutters. How he managed to suffer 1st degree burns and still not dry his clothes out was an enigma that he was not prepared to solve. As he still had unfinished business with a certain chunk of pork.

This time instead of going to the Kroperg he waited for it to come to him. As the creature ran past - in its normal frenzy - he saw his chance and waiting for the right moment he slashed at its over-extended snout. Determined that he would make it pay for eariler grievances.

It costs SPL? I knew it worked like L1 Life, but I always believed that like the other racial talents, no SPL would be lost. Like in the description in the Rules Set:
Rules Set wrote:Favor of the Goddesses – Free healing spell (equal to L1 Life)
IC:

As the boy expected the eyelids to close, he was most amazed by the effect it had.
The Kroperg was turning into an icicle - literally speaking - and the creature seemed that whatever was happening was not to its taste.
"Kroperg-flavored ice-cream, anyone?"- the boy joked, as he extended his hand in the direction of the frozen beast.
Did... we win?

Getting off his battle stance, the Hylian walked towards the door, his feet making a *splash* sound each time they came into contact with the wet floor. The feeling wasn't very good, but he couldn't just stay still. He had to check on Alpha. HE grabbed the doorknob, and took a breather before opening the door.
The moment never came, ashe suddenly felt a warm heat coming from his back. Looking at the icicle start to melt, what was happening was clear as the water that was resulting from the defrost.
More water... and the piggy's not done yet.
He once again hoisted his branded Deku Staff in hand, as he glared at the now fully restored beast... or was it?
Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the steel-clad fur had totally vanished from the Kroperg's body.
Now we can get him!
Tayro grabbed his staff in hand to charge on the beast. Yes, his speed wasn't very good, but it was the best shot he had - as he hadn't enough magical energy, mana, chakra, whatever name one will give, to send another Energy Burst against the Great Pork.

*ATCHOOO*
But the time to strike had not yet arrived, as Tayro's sneeze led him to a halt. Stopping from his strike, he quickly put his hand on his robe's interior pocket, and grabbed a handkerchief, which he used to clean his nose. He saw everyone else attacking, and waited for his turn to deal some beating on the Kroperg.
But, before that time came, he started feeling warm... too warm, as an intense heat filled the room. Tayro fell to his knees in agony, the heat was just too much. He sighted the boar emanating heat from his mouth, and was tempted to throw another seed at him, so that the heat would stop, but with so much heat, he could barely move.
I wanted to get warm and dry, but not cooked alive!
Quickly though, the boar seemed to have heard the boy's thoughts, as he closed its mouth.
Now completely dry and the water in the room completely evaporated, Tayro could only look at the beast's grin. Having a great desire for revenge, the boy, glaring at the creature, quickly got up. He ran towards the beast, and before contact, threw his staff unto the air. Circling around the beast, the boy halted at a position behind the oversized pig. As the staff came flying down, the boy leaped, and grabbing the staff in mid-air, attempted a smal against the creature's armorless body.
Here goes nothing!

OOC: I'm making up for my absence with longer posts, it'll stop soon, though.

IC: The battle is starting to go in the parties favor, rose's sword was a good start, now, how else do they stop the beast?

Kasei noticed the earthquake that happened when his bombs exploded, so he threw some at the same spot again. Now he could focus on the target, the pig! Unloading some arrows, kasei aimed at the only weak spots he saw; the eyes and the nose. To greaten the effect, he tossed some of the ice seeds he got earlier at the beasts feet.

heh, guys, I think its starting to go well for us!
Following rose's example, kasei took out his sword the moment all of his arrows were launched.

OOC: help, someone! i'm gonna die!

OOC: Actually, ZV, you were hit dead on with a Wild Charge near the bottom of page 58.

Weien, I have to agree with Tayro. The Rules Set does indeed declare that FotG is a free healing spell, provided you succeed in an Innate Check. Note to future GM's: make Innate Checks need more than a 15. Most people's INT is high enough that that's basically a one in two chance. I'd say 20+ would be better; FotG doesn't cost anything, so it ought to be pretty difficult to use.

And Kasei...I doubt you'll be getting any help, courtesy of your actions throughout this dungeon. But just so you know, all of the Kroperg's attacks are random - I have a list of every's characters, and I just roll the dice. Whatever number it lands on, that's who gets attacked. So...it's not because we hate you that you're dying. You're just unlucky.

IC:
Raven's blade impacts (10+6[Roll+AGI]) without difficulty, slashing through the pig's nose. A horrified squeal erupts from its mouth as it loses 7 HP to the Thief's dagger.

Tayro's strike hits beautifully (18+1[Roll+AGI]), and the staff slams into the Kroperg's back. 10 DMG is dealt.

Kasei's bombs explode all along the cracks, releasing their tremendous energy into the floor. There is no visible change to the flooring, however. His arrows also have little if no affect, as they all barely shoot past the nose and travel up through the hole in the ceiling (5+5[Roll+AGI]).

Kroperg: 144 HP

OOC: Okay, I have a bad feeling about this, but I'm going to attack anyways.

IC:
Scratches, Rose thinks in disgust. That's all we're bloody giving him. Maybe I should use Elemental Burst, but I haven't learned how to use it yet. Well, anything to hurt this pig more will help. Let's hope it's not fire.

Rose sheathes her sword, no doubt making people nearby wonder what she is doing. She closes her eyes and moves her right foot back. The she thrusts her right arm forward, praying to the Golden Three that her Elemental Burst wasn't just fire.

Rose's Elemental Burst rockets forward as the sphere takes on the form of a mighty hurricane. It seems that the goddesses - or perhaps just luck - is on the Human's side as the attack becomes the Wind element. The Kroperg is unable to resist the attack (10+0[Roll+SPI]), and takes the full 12 DMG.

Angered, the beast turns and charges straight towards Denning. With a mighty roar, it smashes into the Cleric (16+10[Roll+AGI]), dealing a full 15 DMG. Without giving anyone a chance to strike back at it, the boar begins its rampage around the room again.

Kasei loses 3 HP to the poison. However, the poison slowly dissipates from his system, returning his status to normal...though his body remains weak.

Rose: 33 HP, 10 SPL
Denning: 10 HP
Kasei: 6 HP

Kroperg: 132 HP

OOC: i'm gonna hold a grudge against alpha forever!

IC: The battle was not going well, everywhere, members of the group were getting injured, kasei and denning were almost done for, but kasei doesn't give up. As he sees his arrows miss, kasei runs at the beast, ready for any attack, he then raises his sord, ready to end this battle. At this moment, kasei has a flashback to when he was younger, and he was being told the rules of kenshido:
Kasei was standing in his villiage's dojo, his sord at ready. His master, kothint, stood before him, speaking the rules of the blade to the class;

students, you must always remember the rules of the sword, one always has it at ready for any battle, they are capable of manuevering their weapon into any attack, they know not to pick their boogers with a blade, kothint then looked over at zithm, the moron, and finally, never attack a gigantic monster boar with a sword, for you shall die!
hmmmm, what was that last one? sounded important. oh well, I never payed attention back then, so it probably had nothing to do with what i'm doing right now!

OOC: Alpha's still in his cell; why are you mad at him? :P

IC:
Kasei's sword proves much more efficient than his arrows had (8+5[Roll+AGI]). The blade stabs into the Kroperg with great force, dealing 8 DMG to the boar.

Kroperg: 126 HP
