An altar in the water...

A an alter rose up out of the water near the shore of the lake. The sun glimmers off of it. Strange, it had never been there before... Upon closer inspection, there are strange markings on it. An incomprehensible language beyond understanding. The water splashes against it, and its elegance is that of royalty. Even stranger than that, there are footprints leading into the water where the alter stands... yet there are no foorprints leading back... Perhaps there is a book somewhere to help comprehend the glyphs engraved on the alter.

Worru, who had been out on a walk, noticed the alter, as he had been through here many times, and hadn't seen it before. He went up to it, and ran his fingers over it, just to feel the smooth stone. As he looked over the markings, he reached for a book he had bought in a Curiosity Shop, and looked to see if any of the markings matched up.

OOC: Finally somebody figured it out!

Nice work!
IC:
As Worru held the book up to the alter, many of the letters matched up, showing signs of a poem. It read:
In this alter, spirits rest...
A young one strays far from his nest...
If to this alter, he is carried...
You'll walk amoungst the dead and buried...
If you wish to hear the rest...
Fulfill this wise man's last request...
Well, if that isn't odd, not much in this world would be. What could the poem mean? What young? Only time would provide answers...

Worru closed the book, after translating most of the symbols. He put it back in his pack, and sat down, back resting on the side of the altar. He had to think over what the poem had meant. 'In this altar, spirits rest' I guess means that this is a tombstone of some kind; 'A young one strays far from his nest'...Must be either a wanderer, a lost one, or maybe a lost item of some sort; 'If to this altar, he is carried' must mean that I need to bring the whogeewhatsit here; 'You'll walk amoungst the dead and buried' must mean I either go to a graveyard, or what's under this tombstone; and the rest must mean that I have to do what the altar says if I want to hear the rest... he thought, giving a fearful glance at the footprints leading to the water. What if something down there has to do with the altar? he added, crawling over to look into the waters.

The footprints lead right into the sand, where the water begins... They dissapear at that spot.

Worru should've guessed. The water would have removed any evidence of movement. "Well, I'm stumped." he said, giving up on anything underwater helping.

OOC: you had the most obvious hint ever. Please, look back at my last post, and try to figure something out

OOC: From what I've read, it's either the alter is some ways from the water, whihc is what I saw in the first place, or it's right up to the water, which is what I believe you're getting at.
If #2 is true, then you are saying that the alter was pushed by whoever was behind the altar in the first place, leading to this whoever entering whatever is underneath the aformentioned altar, causing the said person who was behind the altar to enter some kind of mini-dungeon, leading to either death, or some kind of item.

OOC: I'm not making it complicated. You are. I'm just saying it in a complicated way. As for nest of spirits, do you mean poes?

They don't nessicarilly have to be Poes.

A poe is an evil spirit. So is a Ghini. They're just spirits. No more hints!

I'll only repeat what was in my old hint:
The footprints lead right into the
sand, where the
water begins... They dissapear at that spot.

OOC: Just tell me, is the alter right up to the water, or is it away from the water? I need this if I'm to understand anything.

OOC: Its in the shallow part of the water. You can still walk up to it without getting your shins wet. I'm not going to make another short post like this, because I feel so... limited on what to write about. Honestly, ask another RPer for help

OOC: There. With the help of a friend, I found the SUPPOSED next part.
