Once Alpha and Saber's exciting battle comes to a close, Tarlen, the Rito announcer, swoops down low to land once again in the center of the arena. "Give it up for both of our competitors!" he yells, drawing forth a resounding burst of cheers and hands clapping. "What an exciting way to begin the Grand Tournament: two powerful adventurers duking it out in a fight like no other!
"But you'd be foolish to think that that's the best we've got! No, the fun has only just begun!" His arms open wide, pointing his fingers in opposite directions. "We've seen one match; now the time has come for yet another, and it promises to be just as thrilling as the last one, if not more so!" A few members of the crowd stop for a moment, wondering if that's possible, but the majority cheer all the louder as they anxiously await the next two fighters' appearance.
"So then allow me to introduce the next two participants in this Grand Tournament! First up, Rose Hillmound, a Human Ranger; and then meet her fierce rival in this fight: Azador Greenfield, the Hylian Mage!" Applause erupts from the stands as the two warriors take the stage.
Tarlen takes to the sky once more. "Fighters!" he cries out, even magic making it hard for his voice to carry over the crowd's yells, "You may start when ready!"

Rose entered the arena, nervousness biting at her insides. There were only a few occasions where she had been nervous. Entering Tarm Military Academy, and later graduating from it. Her wedding (at this thought, her right hand went up to her chest where her wedding band would've been had she not asked Amelia to hold onto it for her). The time her unit was sent to investigate a rogue band armed with wooden swords that could only give one splinters (her left hand unsheathed her knife, anger coursing through her as the memory of what her general had did to her surfaces). Becoming the general herself and going back to Labrynna to clean up the rogue mess. And finally, the dispute with the nomads. And with that final thought, her right hand fell to her sword and the sound of it coming out of the sheathe reached her ears.
Before her stood her competition, Azador, a mage. She frowned; that meant trouble for her. The most magical thing she could do was shape shift, and she had been banned from that. She almost wish hadn't informed Captain Collonius of her unique ability, but she probably would've been disqualified if she had used it anyway. Besides, she had no desire to be hunted down by scholars so that they may study her. Best if she kept that as much of a secret as possible.
The ranger wished she knew how this Hylian compared to Alpha. The Sheikah was the strongest mage she knew in Hyrule, and she was glad that she was on his good side. Well, if she was lucky, this mage was below par to Alpha. At least she had no elemental weaknesses; magic-wise, of course. But then again, she had no access to healing spells either. Saber only lasted as long as he did because he had the prudence to cast Favor of the Goddesses on himself.
Well, my blades are good ones, she thought. The best Holodrum had to offer. Time to put them to some use.
She spun her knife around in her palm with practiced ease. When it stopped, it was facing skyward. "For the glory of Tarm!" she shouted, easily recalling the ancient battle cry. "Baris, watch over me," she added, low enough for only her to hear. And with that, she rushed forward, bringing first her sword down vertically and then slashing horizontally with her knife [Dual Wield L1].

Rose:
STR – 3; DEF –16; AGI – 5; INT – 3; SPI – 2; SPL – 20; HP – 62
Azador:
STR – 3; DEF – 14; AGI – 3; INT – 8; SPI – 3; SPL – 24; HP – 33
Tarlen soars over the battlefield. "And once again, this fight's going to start off strong as Rose darts straight into the fray!" The former general of the Tarm Army wields both her swords strongly as she charges forward...but Azador is too swift for her, and manages to dodge the attack (1+3[Roll+AGI] vs. 14+3[DEF+AGI]). "Oooh, a rocky start for Hillmound...or perhaps a lucky break for Greenfield! Hopefully Azador's own attack will help us decide which is right!"

" hmmm.. this is going to get though, She nearly hit me... no..no I musn't get weak at a place like this, she might be strong with the blade but she lacks mentally and I still posses my healing spell hehehe.. I think I going in the defence for just now..." He thought with a serious look on his face
Then all the sudden Azador started laughing.. "Rose you are qeuit amusing me, I think I got to teach you a lesson.
I'm not as well equiped as you, but I can dodge sword strikes easy.
But I'm interested in what you have to offer..." Said azador filled with confidence
Azador took his staff in both hands and began chanting, with his eyes closed
A smog like aura appeared around him
Nayru bless me, a mortal by thine strenght of protection.
Miguel my protector,
curse my enemies because they are unworthy for thine power ...
He quikly opens his eyes which glowed red for a moment, and put's his staff in the air.
SHIELD!
The aura dissapeared in an instant is it made place for a luminating one.
"Show me what you've got!" he shouted
OOC: sorry it's short, I'm trying the best I can...

Azador's Shield spell activates without fail, boosting his DEF by 25% for the next two rounds. "And the mage decides he'll be playing this match with a defensive mindset!" Tarlen yells. "Better safe than sorry, one might say - let's hope it's safe enough to keep him alive when Rose strikes next!"

Azador: 33 HP, 14 SPL, 18 DEF ~2~

Rose frowned as her sword and knife missed. Agile little thing, she thought, ignoring the Rito commenting on the fight from the air. And then the mage spoke on, and her frown grew. "I think I going in the defense for just now"? Her mind is filled with horror. Mages are supposed to be scholars. They may not all be able to write poems like Amelia can, but they should be smart enough to speak properly. Then Azador began to laugh, and what he said gave Rose the impression of cockiness. Lieutenant Kantoro always drilled into our heads how cockiness will be our downfall, the ranger thought as she remembered her former commanding officer. As well as other times she relearned the hard way. I guess I'll be teaching him a lesson as well. And once this fight is over, perhaps I'll have Amelia yell at him for his atrocious grammar.
The human then focuses on her next attack, but the mage began casting a spell first. She braced herself, but realized it was unnecessary as the Hylian shouted out shield. A shield spell, she thought; had she said it out loud, perhaps she would've sounded slightly mad. Amelia warned me about that. Great. Now it'll be harder to hit him. And with that thought urging her on, she lunged forward once again, showing her skill with her blades, hoping that the mage will not be lucky enough to dodge her attack again [Dual Wield L1].

Rose's twin blades slice straight through the air, but upon impact with Azador's shield the Ranger is immediately stopped in her tracks (8+3[Roll+AGI]). Tarlen swoops down low to get a better view of the action, announcing all the while. "Rose certainly is a fierce competitor, but it looks like the Mage's barrier has stopped her short. She'll have to try much harder to break through that Shield spell of his!"

Azador jumped away from Rose.. with the shield spell working perfectly there whern't many worries for him. He looks at rose, there wern't any signs of her getting tired.. He would if he would have to handle a sword like that.
"everything is going as planned he thought, all she can do is hit me with that weak sword.. And with my shield spell active, this will be easy... but still I mustn't forget my other strategy"
"You should better try again, Rose.. maybe you will even give me a scratch", he said with a sadistically tone in his voice... "As you can see I'm not harmed by your attack.. this is what true magic is really about. All you can do is swing your sword in hope of hitting something!.. And now I'm going to show the real power of magic!
prepare!"
He began to chant another spell
I welcome thou almaighty din, your powers of fury are needed here, let me your loyal servant gain thine power of the flame to purge my enemies of this sacred land, thou have created Flames of the abyss lightning of the gods emerge and destroy
FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
Azador staf began to glow, he quikly stretches it forwat aiming at Rose. All the sudden a fire ball emerged from the staff. And with a rapid spead it raged forward to it's target
OOC: hehehe this fun

The flames race forward from Azador's staff. "Woah now, hold on! Looks like our friend the Mage has decided to go on the attack!" the Rito announcer shouts as the blaze penetrates Rose's defenses and hits her full force (8+2[Roll+SPI]). 13 DMG is dealt to the Ranger, as well as the possibility of some annoying burns that she can worry about later.

Hierlac afbhi'bhitoch Rose thought as the mage's spell blocked her attack. It only got worse for Rose. Not only was she now burned and he was still mutilating the Common language like an ignorant fool, but now the mage had began to taunt her, making him out to be the better of the two. And for what reason? Because he had access to magic and she didn't.
As soon as the flames stopped licking her and she was able to overcome the pain, she responded to Azador. "You want banter? Fine. You think you're the best because you have magic? You're wrong. There is a delicate balance between magic and strength of arms. While you may be stronger than me magically, you'll eventually exhaust your magical power and be forced to fight me in melee. And I've been trained to ignore pain and fatigue, so I'll last longer than you in physical combat. In the end, we even out. I was under the impression that mages were scholarly people, but if you can't understand that, then I guess I'm mistaken or it only holds true for four mages. Personally, I think it's the latter, because your grasp on the Common language is horrible. I heard five year olds who could speak better than you."
After her small speech, she rushed towards the mage in another attempt to bypass his spell with her blades [Dual Wield L1]. Come on Baris, she thought. Help me teach this whelp some humility.
OOC: You know what would make this even more fun, Jarod? If you used proper spelling and grammar. Honestly, it's a miracle I can understand what you're saying. And for the goddesses' sake, choose a tense and stay with it.

Anger or annoyance - or whatever it is that fuels her attack - driving Rose forward, the Ranger's twin blades finally find their mark. Crashing straight through Azador's shield, the two swords penetrate into his skin, dealing a hefty 12 DMG to the mage (19+5[Roll+AGI]). "Well, well, well!" Tarlen calls out to the crowd. "I never thought I'd see the day, folks, when the very Common language would be the motivation required to get through and strike down a fighter's opponent!" Roars of laughter and of cheering join together, requesting the fight continue as swiftly as possible.
Rose: 49 HP, 20 SPL
Azador: 21 HP, 9 SPL, 18 DEF ~0.5~

From the first row, and encouraging call rang out to Rose. "That's right, young lady, you give it to him!" The owner of the nasally voice was an elderly schoolteacher, probably in her late sixties. She was waving a ruler around wickedly, and a small boy behind her was crying and nursing a red cheek that had been handed out to him accidentally in the teacher's frenzy.
The old lady hadn't felt so alive since her dancing days! She felt possessed, and jumped up out of her seat. She crossed the distance to the stage and took a flying leap that seemed miraculous for one her age, as the crowd behind her roared with both encouragement and anger. Unfortunately, the flying leap didn't make it, and she hit the side of the arena heavily, leaving an imprint as she fell to the ground. The audience grew quiet and stared at the still form.
"Is...is she dead?" A few sniffs were heard among the crowd, and the small boy in the second row gave a resounding "Hurrah!" Then, she twitched. Everyone whose mouths hadn't dropped already were now gaping as the old woman leaped to her feet. She pulled herself onto the stage furiously and charged towards the mage. "You little hooligan, if I spoke that way back in my day I would be paddled! We speak this language for a reason, you know! Of course, as soon as we stopped the punishment and all these 'Child Abuse Laws' were made, the little brats got unruly, and this is the result! Son, the only way to make it right again is to bring back the old ways, now prepare for a whoopin', old school style!"
With that, the courageous yet frail old lady brought the yardstick smashing across the hind end of Azador, then brought it back for another strike, and another as the crowd cheered her on, pointing and laughing as justice was served via the ancient schoolteacher.

"Hey, move," shouted a man who was somewhere in the middle section of the bleachers. "We want to see a fight, not an old woman beating a mage with a yardstick." If anybody looked up into the crowd, to see the man, he was dressed in such formal attire that it would make the rich people look like white trash. He was standing up to make his address. However, his partner in crime(yes, crime), the man sitting next to him, hit him upside the head with a club. When the partner started to move to do the action, it was obvious that they were wearing the same clothes.
The man who made the address sat down, and whispered to his partner. The partner nodded, and then the two waited for the fight to continue and for the crowd to start paying attention to the fight again. It would appear that they wanted to talk, but they didn't want others to hear. When they came to the fights, they already had reserved seats that they had payed quite a large amount of money for. However, they didn't have to pay a cent. An organization that went by the name of Cell Sky had bought the tickets for them. Perhaps they were working for Cell Sky.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What an idiot," stated Orpheous, to Simon, who was sitting behind him. He was, of course, making reference to the man who made the address.

"Uh-oh!" Tarlen calls out to the masses as the lone woman darts up into the arena and begins beating on Azador. Of course, none of her weak attacks come anywhere close to bypassing his Shield spell, but the Hylian Knights stationed in the area are still quick to leap up after her and grab the English-obsessed teacher. "In all my years..." the Rito announcer says while scratching his head. "...I have never seen anything like that."
The Knights drag the woman away, taking her ruler and snapping it into several pieces before hauling her away from the battlefield. Undoubtedly, she won't be allowed back in to watch any more fights.
The rest of the group regards the screaming old lady for a few moments, before turning back down to see the rest of the fight.

"Heheheheheh. At last, Azador, we all get to see hwhat you are made of! But maybe, Just maybe, Little Rose will pull an astounding trick from her sleve and win this little match. Not that I really care who wins, actually, 'couse This is just a match of wits, The winner either having more guts oir more inteligence than the loser. But really, What could I actually obtain from fighting the winner? Their both really worthless..." Kasei said, from his perch high atop the stands, on his right sat aria, fully recovered, and on his left dankou sat, both listening intently to both kasei and the match...but all three of them really didn't care much for who the victor was, as long as it was a good fight. Fate would decide the winner, overall, and there ws no going against its judgement...
OOC: yes, kasei believes in fate...
