~The hylian sat in the shadows of the trees, that seemed to stretch up for ever in the dim light. It was nearly sundown, and the brillant oranges and pink of the sunset set a feeling of tranquility over the Deku Woods. The ranger's had a slight smile on his face. This was where he was truly at home and it felt good to get some rest. The familiar sounds, and the faint light filered through the green canopy made for a peaceful scene.
Then Pyre heard another sound, this one much less welcome: the sounds of a wagon. It was probably just more people heading over to the celebration in North Castle, but he couldn't help but feel exasperated. The hylian had come here just to escape from the bustle of the festival, but it looked like no where was spared.
Not far in front of him, the small caravan passed by, excited children from Rauru, stretching to get their first view of North Castle. His smile from before was completely gone. It seemed there was always something going on. Would things ever be as quiet as they had been long ago?
Pyralin shook off the dark thoughts as the sounds of the wheels ploughing through dirt faded into the distance. He decided he was lucky. He had good friends, and had plenty of excitement in his life. There was nothing to complain about. The ranger got up and stretched, thinking about heading over the Rauru Town. It wouldn't to be too busy with the festival going on, and he was looking forward to some time in the Stock Pot Inn.
Pyre bent down to pick up his sword belt, but stopped himself and sat back down. Maybe he would spend a little more time enjoying the sunset.~

A young girl got off the caravan, looking back at it with nothing more than a perfectly fake smile on her face. She waved a daintly hand in its now faraway direction and as it flittered out of sight she became a brilliant azul ball of light and blasted along a paved road. She veered and sped into a thick brush of trees and shrubs, not hitting even one as she sped by.
Looking up she made a sudden stop, taking in her surroundings, her breathing normal. She saw the lush green leaves, illuminated by a warm orange and pink light from the sky. A small smile crept apon her face as she went up out of the trees, the wind making her have a sense of freedom, shared by none other than a hylian not to far off.
Her feeling of freedom and solitude ended abruptly as she darted in some lower branches, perching on a small limb, not 200 feet away from the strange figure. Her bright light dimmed a bit to a soft blue, hoping she hadnt caused an uproar and was noticed.

~Pyre's long ears picked up a faint noise. He frowned slightly and looked around, but saw nothing. The sound was familiar, but wasn't often heard this far from the Thicket. Could it be.... a fairy?
The ranger stood, his hand on the hilt of his dagger just to be safe. It would be uncommon for a fairy to be flying through the forest, but one couldn't always be certain. They were fairly near the Parapa Passage, where all sorts of evil creatures from the desert lurked.
He was rather tempted to call out, but thought better of it, instead sitting back down again the tree, and closing his eyes. Pyre had been longing for some time to try out a new spell of his. It was rather simple, and using his connection with the forest would allow him to stretch out his senses to form a sort of natural sense.
Quickly the hylian built up magical energy within him, and compressed it into a small bundle inside himself. He gave a short prayer to Din for its success, and then said three quick words in Ancient Hylian, triggering the spell.
Immediately he felt the effects. It seemed like his entire essence was spreading out, and becoming one with the forest around him. All the sounds, smells and life was now a part of him. In his elation with the new experience, he almost forgot his original purpose. Almost.
Soon he concentrated on controling the sensing, and searched for the disturbance from earlier. He found that when he targeted things like this, their essence poped in to his mind, and this time it was accompanied with a bright blue light. It was indeed a fairy.
Pyralin opened his eyes again, letting the magic dissapate. He was heady with the energies of the forest flowing through him, but soon he regained his composture, and made a desicion, which was now easy, seeing how he had determined the source of his worries. "You can come out," he beckoned. Maybe he would meet someone worth meeting today.~

She felt an odd tugging sensation as the hylian said a few words. She had never felt this way before and as she expected an excrutiating pain to follow all was still and the weird feeling went away. She sighed a tiny, silent breath and relaxed her tense muscles.
How bad could this stranger be. Yes, speaking odd spells were fairly common where she had wandered from but there was a something about this hylian than drew her slightly forward.
The fairie inched forward a little and stopped, thinking better. She became the small girl again and bounded out of the tree in two small swoops. Walking forward without doubt in her air she gained in on the hylian and stopped when she was 20 feet away, "That was impressive." was all she said. Her head was straigh yet not inposing. Her eyes were not wandering, yet weren't directly on her target and her face was made craftily into an expressionless gaze, yet not one that looked off gaurd.
Her muscles were tensed yet her body did not look uncomfortable, only ready. If it came to it, she could get out of there before he could do anything to harm her.Her eyes narrowed the tiniest bit as she took one last step forward.

~Pyre smiled kindly, yet their was a tint of arrogance in the expression. Impressive eh? It would take a genius to find out exactly what I did, and probably a ranger genius at that. The hylian could see that the fairy was being cautious, but he also knew the flaw in her thinking. She thought that he thought she was a little girl, for though she gave off a strange glow, that was the form she assumed. It would be all to easy to blast her with an elemental burst at this range, but he had no incentive to. From all appearances, this fairy was friendly.
Even so, the ranger was curious as to how she'd react. He stood up and extended a hand. "My name's Pyralin. I'm a wanderer and protector of the woodland. A ranger, one might say. I haven't seen you before in the Thicket, are you new around here?"
(((Sorry it was short I had to leave.)))

"Melody. My name is Melody. I come from Rauru Town. I have lived there all my life." she narrowed her eyes almost as if challenging him. Her answer was short and abrupt, but not rushed. As the ranger extended his handshe condensed her energy and had no intension of returning the gesture. She looked down at her hand which was giving an emmense amount of an orphic blue light. She scowled at herself for being so careless. well, now he knows. Rolling her eyes she added, "As you may have guessed, yes, I am a fairie.
Adding more energy inward she became smaller and bluer, the girl that was standing there before had the appearence of a somewhat strange round look to her and was glowing a bright blue, illuminating the rangers face and the trees around him and her. With one last slow push she became a fairie. She laughed to herself, hows that for immpresive? she smirked.
Gathering speed she flew around the ranger, looking only like a blast of bright azul light. Then she made a sudden turn upward and spiraled out of the trees. Oh how good it felt to be doing this. Beyond reach, beyond controllment of Hylian or Human. She sighed, she could go back down there, or she could she find a seculed place to bask and enjoy herself. She knew her answer before she asked it.
Melody let herself fall for a short while, transforming back into her girl form. When she fell 50 feet she stopped herself in mid air and landed on the soft earth. She sighed inwardly and brought out her hand and clasped the ranger's, "I'm so glad I bumped into you." the edges of her mouth were tugged into a smile. A small smile, yet a true one. "So glad."

"Well, well well, what do we have here? A fairy, and a ranger, both apparently not where their supposed to be! Heh, Pyre, have ya seen Aria around? I think i've lost her!" Kasei said, with his signiture idiotic grin on his face. You didn't even see him comming, he was just... there. Apparently he was worried about Aria, dispite the smile, and was earnestly looking for her before he stumbled apon the small group. "Heh, the reason I stopped is that I could've sworn I felt magic being let lose around here. It wasn't you, was it, Pyre?" Kasei asked, a mischivious grin now on his face...
OOC: HULLO! A new player, and a good one at that!

As the other figure appeared Melody made an inaudable gasp, catching her off her gaurd. What was this?
Narrowing her eyes until they were nothing more than small slits, Melody faultered and stumbled backward, catching herself at the last moment. So, he was well known around here.
Melody's eyes darted to Pyre and held his gaze, trying to read his face. Had this all been planned? Was this what he wanted? Or was this merely an unfortunate coincidence? were some questions that were speeding through her mind. And who was this Aria he spoke of. The other hylian (am I right?) looked off gaurd, yet she could tell the contrary.
Once again she condensed her energy, ready to speed away at any moment. She wouldnt let her muscles relax for even on second. Looking to see how Pyre reacted she waited. Fore she knew that of all things, she could trust him. She just...knew. Crap, this is going to be one long heck of a day.

~Pyralin frowned when Kasei appeared. The chaotic mercenary wasn't always good company, for he could be on your side one second, and then attack you the next, depending on how much he got payed. The hylian didn't think that the Rebel Flame had come to harm either of them however, so he let an slight grin cross his face. "Lost her? You mean she ran away from you?"
At the same time though, he was worried that Kasei had also sensed his magic. If he was going to use the spell to locate others, and find out what was going on around him, he couldn't let the same magic draw others in. He contemplate how he would alter the spell, and considered putting a constricting phrase at the end, but shook his head, and concentrated on current company.
The ranger glanced in the fairies direction, and saw once again she was being cautious. He was going to introduce her to the mercenary, but decided that she would have to do it herself. If she wished to remain unknown, then the hylian wouldn't spread knowledge of her name.
That's when his mind processed Kasei's first comment. Not where they're supposed to be? Pyre suppressed a laugh. It looked like the mercenary didn't know much about rangers. He was in for a surprise if he openly said the same thing to Rose. The hylian almost asked what Kasei was doing in the forest, but decided he wouldn't get a straight answer beyond "Looking for Aria" so he didn't think it was worth asking. Better to let things unravel on their own.~

"Ummmm, basically, yeah..." Kasei said, noticing how oddly the fairy was acting. He wanted to ask what was wrong with her, but decided against it. He looked at Pyre, who apparently wanted to laugh. "whats so funny? do I have something on my face?" Kasei said, feeling his face with his hands...but quickly stopped, and looked to the east. "somethings goin on over ther, towards the thicket, I wonder what it is? I smell a fire." And true top kasei's words, you could see smoke rising from above the treetops of the forest at the east. It then dawned on kasei how bad that was."Holly crab! We gotta do somethin!" He yeled, then looked to Pyre for help.
OOC: this is part of my stoy that will be taking place in the near future, you don't have to reply to the actual story when I post it, but I decided to post that there because this is probably the only chance i'll get...

~Pyre was taken aback. A fire? Near the Thicket? That was most definitely not good. Though it may be just a campfire, or a traveller that could see without a torch in the dim light, it was worth making certain that the forest wasn't on fire.
The first thing the hylian did was turn to look at Melody. Although the ranger could move quickly through the forest, the fairy was small, and could travel even faster. He gave her a look that hopefully got his thoughts across, and then began to cast the same spell he used before, this time trying to confine it as much as possible.
He focused in on the source of the fire, once again, filled with the natural essence of the forest. Only then did it strike how stupid doing this was. If the forest was actually on fire, what would stop the spell from killing him? He shook off the doubts. It was too late now, and he wasn't dead, so he hoped for the best.
The first thing he found was a small campfire. As it was causing no pain to the things around it, it didn't hurt Pyre. Instead, he was one with it. The flames filled him, and he felt truly at home. The fire exhilerated him, and he felt a smile crossing over his face. It took a moment or so to finally concentrate, and turn his attention to those around him. He could tell that they were human, but other than that, his improved sense couldn't tell him anything.
The hylian let the spell drop and he was suddenly back near the road with Kasei and Melody. "Its just a campfire but... I don't know those that sit around it. It is strange, with the celebration going on that others are in the forest, but it might be gerudo coming down from the desert..."~

Melody knew she was making it overly obvious that she was uncomfortable and straightened up, containing herself. Looking towards the east she too saw the spiraling smoke, and though it was miles away it burned her eyes. She would have to trust Kasei for now, she couldnt do much now anyways, and him either for that matter.
Might as well try and help. And she spoke up for the first time since Kasei had arrived. "I can help." she murmered, the words almost unheard. She smiled at the prospect of enjoying another small time span speeding through the tops of the forest, skimming along hundreds, if not thousands of green trees.
One moment she was just an ordinary child, the next a small airborn ball of bright light. She gained vilocity as she whirred out of the thick canopy of leaves and into the fresh air. No sound emitted from her as she flew along, looking only at her target. A small camp. Getting closer with every passing moment she was now right above it, large billows of dark smoke choking her. But she delved deeper into the fire, looking for something that would help. small children and women were screaming, running away from their fate, bring burned to a crisp. Men were helping them in a failing attempt. There were 7 of them all together.
There was a small baby crying for its mother that she spotted next, her eyes hardening as she looked apon its burning body. She dived for it, just as it was enveloped by flame, and its wailing stopped. A dark flame burned deep inside her. This had to stop.
Choking, and gasping for breath she swirved out of the smoke, fire and death all around. She barely had the muscle to get back to the two hylians in one peice, yet her willpower set her onward towards them. Her bright light was now dim with dismay and trauma as she was closer and closer to them again. Once she was directly above it and about to warn them of what had happened she weakened suddenly and dropped inbetween the two.
"It's horrible...horrible." she didnt even have the strength to turn into a flea, much less a little girl, "You have to help them..."

(((OOC: I gave the okay for this btw, I guess this is the start of Kesmi's storyline)))
~Pyre looked down at the fairy crumpled on the ground in surprise. He, with his limited sense, hadn't noticed that anything was wrong, but it looked like the fire was a lot worse than he had expected. Who knew what had caused the flame, it may have been and accident, it may have been something else. Just to be safe, the hylian drew his scimitar.
The ranger had to make a desicion; stay here and help the fairy, or move towards the fire and find out what was happening. He chose the later, and quickly climbed up the tree he was leaning against, lifting himself into the leafy canopy. This was how he could move fastest through the forest.
Pyralin leapt from tree to tree, covering the ground between his roadside retreat, and the billows of smoke. It was not long before he began to hear the screams that Melody had experienced. It seemed like he was getting close, and it sounded a lot worse than he had imagined. Immediately, he drew his dagger to wield along with the other blade, and closed in on the now visible flames.
When he broke out of the treetops into a small clearing, he gasped. There was a small burning camp, and the fire was starting to spread to the trees around it. It didn't help that the people themselves were on fire. Once again, he was faced with a difficult choice; save the people, or save the forest. As a ranger, he really only had one path. The forest had to be saved, but soon, he thought of how he could solve both problems at once.
The hylian quickly drew the energies of his body into one compressed point, the same he would do with any spell, and began to shape it into a semblance of watery essense. Pyre quickly chanted the words to the Elemental Burst spell, and then selected a spot in the air above the camp as his target.
When he unleashed the magical energies, the water shot out in all directions, putting out fire, on people and trees alike. However, it seemed the spell had missed a spot. In the middle of the camp was a single compressed ball of flames. Instead of going out, it seemed to be hissing in agony. Fire that cried out in pain was never a good thing.
The hylian tightened the grip on the hilts of his blades. He wanted to banish the creature with another burst of water, but he his magical reserves had run dry. Between the two sensing spells and the elemental burst, he had no spellpower left to use, and so he would have to trust his own fighting prowess if the fire was hostile. From the sounds of the screams that had so echoed throughout the clearing before, he assumed that it was.~

Instead of climbing the tree, witch would have taken an eternity, Kasei made one powerfull leap, and was across the road, and in the treetops, The shiekah mercianry used his extensive speed and streangth training to its fullest potential, putting all of his power in his legs, so that even though Pyre had a head start, kasei was cowering twice the distance the ranger could. And then he stoped, and viewed the horrible scene, people and forest alike were burning. Kasei prepared to absorb the flames, but apparently he didn't have to, as Pyre performed a water spell over the encampment. smirking, Kasei truned to Pyre. "It wouldve taken up much less time if you simply released the energy in the clouds up there, causing it to rain." The rebel flame said, and true to his words, there were visibly dark clouds overhead, full to the brim with water. Kasei then spots the one fire that didn't go out, and prepares himself with an unknown attack...
"This is my specialty, I can handle it..."

Watching as the two left her she took a deep breath in. She inspected her surroundings, looking to see if there was an easy way out of the thicket of the deku woods. No such exit was available to her though, so she lifted her self of the ground, her once bright and orphic blue light a dim grey color, with just a hint of power in it. The sight had made her weaken internally, making her not want to even fly now.
Focusing on only the freeness and pleasure of flittering in out trees, feeling the brush of life give her a boost as she was in pure bliss, she pushed away thoughts of death, pain, and distruction. Kasei and Pyre were taking care of it, and she just had enough power for maybe one spell. She told herself that she was needed as she bursted out of the trees with the last of her power and sped to the heart of the fire where Pyre was just drawing his weapon and Kasei was focusing deeply apon something, probably summoning one spell or another. Her eyes scanned the scene and she tried to find a bright side to the unfailing chaos. She could think of nothing that brought the least bit of comfort to her mind.
Studying Pyre closely she followed his line of sight right into a roaring, hissing, angry ball of fire, sticking out from the rest, a light blue feeding it at the bottom. If only...she had enough power. She concentrated deeply on the heat at the bottom of the flame and murmered words under her breath, a small prayer to Nayru as a small ring of water emitted from her, getting bigger and bigger my the second. It gathered more power as it grew and soon it a nearly 10 feet diameter.
With one last surge of power she sent the Aqua Crescent flying through the air with a burst of speed and hit the fire, making it hiss and sputter, growing weaker, yet not destroying it. She gained in on the fire and bounced into it, her spirit brightening with every attack. Again and again did she move backwards and bounce off it, flames of fire whipping at her as she missed them by a hair.
With one last bounce, the slightly burnt fairy retreated back high up in the air, calling down, "PYRE! Now!" she barked down at them with a powerful voice, not matching her small form.
(((OOC: Kasei, I've been given Gming powers by Pabru in a PM so this can be the start of my storyline. I'm not sure exactly how this works but I'm pretty sure I control the creatures and enviroment of the post. I didn't want it to rain, so could you please edit that? Thanks. Also, I'm not sure about how speed works around here, but wouldn't Pyre, being a ranger, and used to the forest move faster than you? If I'm wrong please correct me, sorry for being a newb.)))
