She walked towards the Temple of Nayru, slightly exhausted. She would've stopped to rest by now, but her uncle had told Sheila to visit the cathedral at least once. The young Hylian was glad she had listened; the temple was magnificent, and even more so on the inside. Taking her eyes off of one of the beautiful angel statues near the entrance, she saw a woman with black-hair praying. Could this be the human she was looking for? She slid into a pew, waiting for the woman to finish. Fifty minutes later, the woman got up and Sheila got a clear view of her face. The Hylian wanted it to be familiar, but it was wishful thinking; after being bitten by the overgrown spider, her vision become blurred. So the only thing to do would be to ask the woman if she was Rose Hillmound.

Sheila followed the tall human out of the Temple of Nayru. She tapped her on the shoulder and said in a hesitant voice, "“Pardon me, but are you Ms. Rose Hillmound?”

The woman turned around and replied, “Yes, I am. And you’re Sheila Rantil, correct?”

The Hylian nodded her head. “Yes. I wanted to thank you for saving me the other day.”

“It was no problem. But what were you doing in the cave? You were lucky that your father and I happened to be there that day.”

“Well, I was going to kill the gohma myself. I thought that if I did what the Hylian Knights couldn’t do, I would be guaranteed a place among them. I read about gohmas before going in, and I thought I was prepared, but when I saw something that big running towards me, I froze up.” She said the last part in an embarrassed tone. A tone that Rose was able to sense.

“There’s no need to sound embarrass,” the human said with a reassuring smile. “If anything, you should feel shame. ‘A war can easily be lost of just one soldier hesitates in battle,’ my commanding officer from when I was in the Tarm Military Academy would often say.”

Sheila nodded. “Yeah. I guess I learned that the hard way, huh?” She sighed. “I tried getting into the North Castle Military Academy, but they wouldn’t let me just because I wasn’t a Sheikah woman. I bet if I was one of them, they would’ve let me in and I would’ve gotten better training. And then I might not have frozen up back in the pass.”

“Perhaps.”

The younger of the two women sighed again. “It’s so frustrating, knowing that you’re the right sex, but not the right race.”

“No, I think you’re the right race. You just didn’t try to get into the right academy.”

“Are you saying I could go to Holodrum and enroll into an academy down there?”

“No, you would have to go to a Hyrulean military academy. But Hyrule has more than one academy, right?” Sheila nodded. “Just find one that’ll let you in, even though you’re not a Sheikah woman.”

“Huh. I wish I thought of that.”

The Tarm woman laughed. “I made quite a few people say that long ago. Even brigadier generals. Which is most likely why I eventually ended up as one by the time I graduated. I don’t think anyone had so many promotions in any military academy before.”

Both women smiled. “Well, thank you again for saving me, and thank you for taking some time to talk to me. It’s getting late, so I guess I better be off and find an inn to stay at.”

“It was and is no problem at all. I’m glad I was able to help you. You’ll have to let me know when you graduate from a military academy. I’ll leave a mailing address with your parents.” The two of them bowed and went their separate ways; Sheila to find an inn and Rose looked as if she was heading off to the castle.

General Garcia Himoke was strolling in the city a few weeks later. While he was glad to hear that the Tarm Kingdom was under no threat, he hadn't been pleased about having to turn around and head back to Hyrule halfway to Holodrum. Well, what was done was done, and there was no point in moping about it.

A woman in an alleyway sitting with her back against the wall caught his eye. Leaning against the wall next to her was a sheathed spear. Curiosity came over the general. Was she a Hylian Knight? Her spear and armor didn't say so; maybe a cadet on break then? He walked over to her and said, "Excuse me, but shouldn't you be in your barrack?"

The woman glanced up, a look of recognition dawning on her face. She scrambled to stand up, knocking over the spear in the process. "No, Sir Himoke. I've been all over Hyrule, but no one would accept me."

The elderly Hylian nodded. "You dropped your spear. You might want to be careful with it if that's your only form of defense." The young woman blushed slightly, turning around and bending down to pick up her spear. Nice butt, he sub-consciously thought. She slung the spear over her shoulder as he continued speaking. "Well, I'm sure if you train some more, they'll let you in."

A look of anger flashed across her face, but it was with a calm voice that she responded with, "They wouldn't let me in because I'm not a Sheikah, sir."

General Himoke frowned. "I'll send letters to the Heads of Admissions. If you come with me, I'll personally see that North Castle Military Academy gives you a fair chance." The woman grabbed her bag and placed it on her other shoulder; the two began to walk. "If you don't mind my asking, why do you want to become a Knight of Hyrule?"

"I'm hoping I can find a Sheikah to train me in their fighting arts."

The general stopped in his tracks, the young woman following suit. "If that is what you want, then you don't have to enter the Hylian Knights to do so. New recruits are always welcomed, of course, but if that's your only reason, then you might as well find a Sheikah that isn't in the service. After all, the Hyrulean Army isn't the only place to find Sheikah warriors. Try going to Saria Town; there's a famous Sheikah bounty hunter there. His nickname is Swordmaster of the Shadows; he might be willing to help you, or he could direct you to someone else."

The girl looked to be in thought for a minute, and then she finally said, "Okay, I will look for him. Thank you, Sir Himoke." She ran off, turning to wave good bye once before disappearing into an emerging crowd of people leaving the theater.

Cute girl, General Garcia Himoke thought. I wonder if our paths will cross again. Shrugging, he began a route towards the North Castle Military Academy. He had some words to say to the Head of Admissions.
