Beachy Clothes Behind a Desk

Parallel with and a few yards away from the main seating of the Tavern is a small wooden desk with some important-looking (that is, white paper with black ink) documents on it. Behind the table is a single chair that accompanies it, and on this chair is an intelligent-looking Hylian--that is, a Hylian with spectacles. In addition to this eyewear, the Hylian wears a gaudy multi-colored hat with matching pants and tunic: all equally bright, colorful, and hard on the eyes. Basically, he wears a suit of well-fitting beach clothes.
Seeing you, he looks up (or down) from his seat and smiles so that you can very easily see his large, brilliantly white teeth.
"Hello there, Guv'nor," he says, in a sort of stressed voice that reminds you quite vividly of a deaf, helium-drunk yet squashed boar. He laughs maniacally--like an apprentice madman's laugh--as he points to a bulletin-board like wooden rectangle to the side, propped up on an easel. On the top, you read the following:
VACATION ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD: Wondering where your friend is gone? Wondering where your enemy is off to? Looking to see if your rich uncle is dead yet? Chances are that they've posted their whereabouts here! Check often!
Under it is a single square of parchment, nailed to the board with a bent screw. The parchment says this:
Gone to the Ruto Mountains, in the mood for a taste of home. Be back in a few weeks.
-Arco
OOC: Ok... well, I thought I'd open up an official "Vacation" thread... where you post if you'll be away somewhere, unable to post here at HA. The translation for Arco's note is that I'll be out of town starting tomorrow (i.e. "today") all the way until September the 2nd/3rd, and besides a week of limited internet access from the 13th or so, till the 20th, I will most likely not have a chance to get back here before the month is over.
I'll miss you all sorely! Sorry for the threads that will more or less be hanging ajar, for this, especially the "Menu" thread here. It looks like Arco will have to stay shadowmelded for... a bit longer. Oh and Alpha--I'm eager to see how things turn out with Zaris ^^. Wish you all the best of blessings!
See you all in September,
Weien/Arco

(Aside) Okay, on this weekend, on Friday and most of Saturday, I will be incommunicado due to a D&D session with my friends from high school and sleeping in the next morning. I'll be back Saturday evening or Sunday, for sure. Also, this fall, I think weekend questing would work best for me. By weekends, I mean from Thursday evening (say around 7:00 pm) to Sunday afternoon. Barring excessive homework (I still call it that though I'm in college) or something else, I will be available.
Also, I kind of lost interest in the old version of Hyrule Adventures after a while. I mean, I wanted new areas, not just the old areas over and over again. I also had sort of a falling out with bgrugby over some extremely rude comments I made and for which I am extremely sorry. Also, I got hit by a car on January 20th and was hardly mobile for a while. I'm fine now, and this new version seems quite interesting.

OOC: I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm heading away for the Labor Day weekend. There's a small chance I'll be able to get on, but it isn't likely. I'll be gone in about an hour, and get back sometime Monday.

A note scrawled on the paper reads:
"Got lost. Hyrule is much too large and confusing. Maybe I'll find my way..."
The paper has talon marks punctured through it and is slightly crumpled.
OOC: Going on vacation, be back sometime Sunday.

OOC: this seemed the best place to put this.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from the Great Game. I cannot find the time or the will to post here durring my busy days. I have found new meaning and drive in my life over the past few weeks and i simply do not have time with which to continue my efforts here. It has been a great game guys we did all we could and I can only hope that this place keeps on rockin' hard with out me.
On a side note I never finished Jack's story for you all. I know how it ended, and like so much of his life it was bittersweet. At the top of the tower of light with his dear freinds by his side Jack finaly came face to face with his lost love, Celeste. But she was not as he remembered her; Six wings of raven black feathers held her aloft against the setting sun and The Possible Sword flickered and warped in her left hand. Her voice was lilting and sweet but it spoke only the broken nonsence of Icabod. Jack unable to face the reality of his love's coruption fell to his knees and Red Fury fired the black arrow that Celeste had given him on his little jaunt to the dark world; its gravity tore the possible sword from Celeste/icabod's hand and its hundereds of potential blades tore her assunder. With the destruction of her phisical form all of her memories and soul (once a part of Jack) slid back into place in Jack's mind. He finaly understood the truth Celeste was never his to begin with, she was only a figment of his imagination, a "perfect woman" he had dreamed up and thrust into an empty shell mixed with the last shards of the original soul he had consumed. upon his final defeat of Icabod, and his "reunion" with his lost love he turned again to the road after stoping by her empty grave for a dream that never was and scratched this into the gravestone:
Guilty soul entrapt in sorrow
All my colors stolen from me
Saved
Crack my bones and blacken marrow
By here eyes
Grey and Blue and Grey and Green
My tattered form
Hollow head and cross'ed staffs
Empty eyes and cressent smile
Becomes
Amidtst my feild of epitaphs
More than
Teeth and scars wracked out for miles
The taste of
Bone dust in the hourglass
Breathing want and tripple sec
Moment thrust against moment
Stretch it out and make it last
Smile pressed against smile
My lips brush her jaw and neck
Cardamom lips, peppercorn tounge
Lift my tounge with white hot shears
take your coin 'o Boatman pale
And my redundant flesh
The spell will last all these long years
Bound by oaths
I cannot tell her how I feel.
He has never been seen since...
Wish me luck all, I'll need it.
If you wish write me at

A tattered piece of paper has been recently posted on the board:
Going into the Ruto Mountains for meditation and focusing. I hope to return soon with my mind clear and my many thoughts all in order.
-Alpha
OOC: I, as I'm sure many people are, am leaving tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Won't have access to a computer til Saturday at the very earliest, more likely Sunday.

A small girl, sniffing with equal parts despair and frustration, arranges the thumb tacks on the bulletin board into a smiley face, then to a 5-armed star, then back to a face, then to a star...
OOC: Sorry about the lack of activity on my part, guys... I'll be back as soon as possible (school ends on the 20th!). Thanks for understanding!

A scrap of burnt parchment is nailed on the board. It reads:
I'm off to search for her. Let her death rest my soul.
OOC:Yeah, mid-terms are coming up for me in about a week so my activity will slow down alot but I'll try as hard as I can to put in some posts at the slumber inn.

A clean, new piece of parchment has been carefully tacked to the board. It reads:
"Going on an ocean voyage. Be back soon.
-- Victor"
OOC: Actually, this holds some truth. From December 17th (this Saturday) to December 24th I will be going on a cruise. Obviously, this means that I won't be active here for a week. Don't start anything big without me!

A new piece of paper is tacked on the board:
We are going...going to...
The writing picks up a few lines later, but with different handwriting.
I am taking Alpha and Shada back to visit the ruins of Sereta Village, their old home. I am not sure when we will return.
-Zaris
OOC: I'm traveling with my family for the next week and a half. No idea when I'll get to get back online next, so don't expect me back til a week from this Saturday. If I can get on, I'll make my NPC's my top priority, so check there.
And ask them questions!

A tattered scrap of paper is nailed onto the board, ink running freshly off its tips.
I don't know what's gonna happen to me but I do know that I'll have to take some time to think about what I'm gonna do next.
-a shadow on the sun
OOC: I just gotta take some time to do some other things andget into some of my other interests. If I don't, I'll end up losing interest in HA. See ya. I don't know when I'll be back but I'll try not to keep the members in my story waiting for to long.
Bye

OOC: Okay, well, I'll be making a general announcement tomorrow on the main page, but this one will tell some details. Starting this Friday (March 10 for those of you without a calendar), I'll be going on a school trip down to Mexico. It's going to be great, lots of fun, yadda-yadda, but the main point as it pertains to you is that I won't be getting back until the following Friday night. And there is a -1% chance of obtaining internet access. So, I'm gone for a week. Yeah.
Victor! Make me proud, alright? Good.

OOC: Have fun

We'll be ready to jump right back into our Rune search (and a few other quests on hold) when you get back.
