--Chi is young, to put it as simply as possible. At her age, her chances of survival are mostly dependant on not straying around, keeping her wits about her, and getting hold of some basics. Yes, a hero of time can wander the countryside at night, running with no signs of fatigue, battling creatures of darkness (and large spiders) without a worry in the world, least of all homeostasis. Chisalu is not a hero of time, she is not even a heroine, and therefore she must feed herself, remain sheltered and not get eaten by a particularly hungry beastlie.
Physical Appearance
Hair: Reddish-pink, slowly turning white at roots as she ages, extremely messy and tangled, medium-length and tied in two low bunches, single braid in hair. Tied with leather-ties of unknown origin, but considerably well-worn; Sheikah eye symbol notably on it.
Face: A very thin face, with high-cheek bones, enhances Chisalu’s over-bearing appearance of being skinny. Chi possesses a typical straight nose, and her ears are somewhat too large for her – she shall one day grow into them, but not yet.
Eyes: Traditional Red eyes of the Sheikah, can go paler when she’s sleepy or weaker (hungrier too), and due to tricks of light can appear deeper red at times. Rest assured, they do not change colours anymore or less than a typical person.
Stature: Light and short for her age, she looks underfed to be accurate. Very angular, with distinct joints, ribs not visible but easily felt, bony and almost gaunt looking by her physical body. Slight and dexterous, she can fold into small-spaces with ease, though perhaps not comfort.
Attire: Loose, fading dark blue shirt, covers one hip more than the other, which is where she most likely conceals her knife. Single stocking on right leg, though laddered and not exactly pristine. No patches on her clothes, but some fraying. Odd knick-knack necklace made of odd baubles and weird, cheap, meltded down metals. Two earrings in the right ear, one in the left. Always wears a scowl at that.
--Chisalu doesn’t eat enough; sometimes she really doesn’t get enough food. Then again, sometimes it is half-imposed. Chisalu is very reluctant to eat food in general, due to her pack-rat habits. Her habit of hoarding everything for a later date does not quite take into account there will not be a later if she is not fed correctly. Nevertheless, when she does eat, she tends to eat voraciously and this typically, keeps her weight up, as her metabolism stores as much fat as it can. However, over the protracted and extensive use of this system, her body has gradually depleted its stores. This doesn’t bode well with her health, in general. An added danger is that her hunger dulls her reaction times, intelligence, common-sense, and abilities all-round. As she grows older, she seems to have garnered more food-sense, but her refusal to use up her ‘previous supplies’ is still extremely strong. In short? Chisalu is typically in a state of ravenous weakness, and is still severely reluctant to eat despite this.
Personality: Mischievous would describe Chisalu best perhaps, her elaborate pranks very rarely show, but she constantly keeps a wave of double-edged wit about her as a protective emotional defense. Capable of laughing and crying at herself and others in equal measure, Chisalu is deceivingly open to make herself appear more naive. Her acting skills are considerable, and her moods are also fairly capricious. The bubbly, playful defense usually covers a layer of prickly, defensive anger. Finally, beneath that, is a deep petulance, mistrust, selfishness, and disdain for others.
Chisalu frequently uses any protective instinct in people to prolong her life, as a result, she has retained childish mannerisms, phrases and attitudes that she can turn on at the slightest need. She is often mistaken as adorable, sweet and innocent. This includes the cute!puppy eyes. However, in truth, she is a natural-born cynic, and considers the fact people let themselves be used as proof that they aren't worth being concerned about. Misanthropic, she loathes other people, but acknowledges what use they have. Chisa retains a practical attitude, realistic, and thus she turns on her childish persona to invoke pity and affection in others. To her, people's feelings are cheap things to buy with a bright-eyed smile.
Unfortunately, she has a daredevil streak and desperation for excitement, thankfully she is blessed with the common-sense enough to stay as much out of it as possible. Chisalu is well aware of her age, height, stature, and mindfully regards combat as a lethal encounter each time. Nevertheless, she tends to push her luck, often with no viable cause. Combined with a deep inquisitiveness that belies her cynicism, it would be assumed she would in her initial self be quite curious, and eager to explore.
Although reasonably talented in close-combat, being quick, not in the usual attack-range, and light on her feet, Chisalu is not strong in the slightest, her body has very few muscles and they’re pretty much all used for movement. She would probably snap very easily, like a twig in the majority of people’s grips. Therefore Chisalu refuses to face opponents head-on, choosing to dodge and use guerilla tactics. In fact, what she likes best is a big strong gorramn hero to duck behind. They tend to do the majority of fighting, and will go out of their way to prevent a young girl coming to harm. Chisalu is not quite certain what to do when she grows too old to be a cute kid; she supposes she would have to use feminine charms.
Being most easily damaged by large aggressive males, one would assume her to perhaps be nervous of them. However, Chisalu particularly specializes in clinging on such people, with father/big brother complexes who can defend her. She is willing to work hard to remain with a decent protector and follow most orders to the point, giving off the loyal little sister aura. She distinctly knows she has little other opportunity to manage well in other circumstances, without a guardian and will play as cute as she needs to. Underneath, she deeply despises anybody who allows themselves to be taken in by her so easily, but it serves use to her, and use is a very particular thing to her.
Chisalu's true loyalty is to her own survival, understandable enough, and she is thus, mostly preoccupied with looking after herself. If her current BIG BODYGUARD looks like they aren’t doing so well, she will cheerfully drop you and flee the field as fast as she can. She's not there because she cares, she's there because you can darn well help her survive, and when you can't, she moves on.
Pack-rat habits also define her, she rarely is frivolous and is known for hoarding, much like a squirrel or nut-hatch bird. To assist with this, Chisalu possesses a photographic memory (eidetic is a pretty word), notably for locations, although she also retains sounds and can mimic them reasonably enough. She is weaker on faces, considerably so, but with a strong enough emotional link – such as fear – she will have jolting visual memories. Her hoarding habits, where she a person who had the capacity to carry and own many items, would quickly go out of control. Despite her circumstances, she has several hidey-holes which she has covered in her 'treasures'. Obsessive? Yes, though. Meaning has this way of gathering, and pinning down, and Chisalu doesn't stand for this. She moves on before the attachment becomes a deadweight, and abandons her hidey-hole.
Weapon: Dagger
Items: None
Other: Has pointy ears; Small Sheikah tattoo behind her right ear, but I doubt anyone would check there.[/img]
