Character-number. I'm confused as to how many characters one person may or may not have, and whether they keep their own profiles, do not have profiles, or are inclusive to other profiles? Do I have but one character?

Is there any strict protocol or guide-lines?

No, it's cool. Knowledge is power. You want to be informed.

There is no role as far as how many characters who can have. However, most people like all of your characters to have depth.

Additionally, I would recommend not giving each individual character you have a seperate topic in the Hostel for their profile. Make one topic for your NPCs, or even a bunch of posts within your main topic, and elaborate on them there. Too many topics makes it too hard to find other topics, and I believe there is a limited space for profiles, which is why, I'm sure, they made a separate forum for dead characters, elaborating on my North Castle Graveyard topic...

I suggest you start with just one character. In fact, normally you should have a 'main' character and the others are just as it is said 'NPC' (Non-playable character).
