A long chase, ends

"Come back you murderous bastards!" Kalex yelled at the top of his lungs as the thieves and now assassins were slowly lost in the depths of the tunnel. He cursed his legs, for not being faster, he cursed the rocks that made the terrain unpredictably irregular, he cursed darkness that filled the tunnel, but above all, he cursed those who killed Sourven, Corky and the rest of the convoy.

Now he had finally got a track of them, he had finally found them so he could have his revenge. He would have no mercy, for they have had none. He was sure it was them, they matched the description perfectly, a big guy, two thin guy, two small children and a red fairy.

They were getting away, of course they were, the cowards were obviously used to run away. Kalex had little options, he took the most drastic.

"Thunder!" and the blue serpent of energy sprouted from his body, barely missing the group. He cursed out loud in his own language as the sparks flew from the tunnel wall they had just hit, leaving a black crater. He aimed better, he wouldn't have another chance.

"Thun-DER!" before he could finish the incantation, the biggest of them all stopped, with a single stomp of his foot, he made a thick wall of rock sprout from the ground, absorbing completely the force of the lightning and breaking in the process.

"Kira, take care of him" he said.

"My pleasure" a feminine voice said, and a thin figure carrying a staff, using her ally's body as a platform, jumped to face Kalex.

The clash was inevitable, pure survival instinct. Kalex was now under the pressure of Kira's staff, having been able to barely stop it with his own weapons. He leapt to his side, and the staff hit the ground. Making the most out of every precious second, Kalex threw a quick jab at Kira's neck, always aiming to kill. His attack was quickly deviated by the lower extreme of the staff, which had a perfectly spherical emerald.

In this brief moment, the hood covering the girl flew slightly with her movements, and Kalex caught a quick glimpse of her eyes, reflecting the dim lights of the torches, she was a Zora. He couldn't kill her now, he had to know who she was. However, he would have to defeat her first, Kalex thought as he leaned back to avoid an otherwise fatal blow from the magical weapon. Kira started to spin her staff, and a purple aura started to cover it; whatever she was planning, Kalex was not about to allow her that.

He jumped over her, releasing to electrically enhanced attacks. Without disrupting the circular motion of her weapon, Kira deflected the sparks. She taunted, giggling at the thrill of the fight.

Both charged, and the tunnel was filled with the light of hundreds of blue and purple sparks. Their movements were swift, almost feral, using equally their arms, legs, and weapons to get every inch of advantage they could get. A misplaced double aerial kick from Kalex cost him a trip to the ground when Kira entangled his legs with the staff. He rolled, avoiding a hit once more by few inches. Regaining his stance, he grew tired of playing clean.

With a war cry, Kira charged at him again, but this time Kalex had a surprise. His palm aimed at her, a surge of light burst from it, blinding the female Zora. With a swift kick, he removed her staff from her hands, and prepared to submit her with his hands, ready to make her speak. As he was about to reach for her neck, however, the ground under his feet moved, making him lose balance.

As he fell, he tried to hold to Kira's body, but he only grabbed a string attached to her neck, which snapped with the weight of his falling body. He landed hard on the ground, and quickly his limbs were held in place by rock formations that came from the ground. Kira, being also prey of a lack of balance, fell over Kalex. For a moment he could feel her breath over him, the warmth of her body, for moment he could clearly look at her face. Impossible.
Kalex felt that the weight of Kira was lifted from him, the big guy had come to pick her, having made Kalex trip and now trapping him with rock forming abilities. Perplexed at his new realization he looked at the string he still held in his hand, it had a pendant, a sapphire of the deepest blue with a marking on it, a hollow tear with vines at each side.
”Miyu…” he said, realizing that the Zora was not Kira, but his sister lost 7 years ago ”Miyu! Ma re te deko Kalex! Miyu!” he said in the language of the Zora. Miyu, who now was resting on the big guy’s shoulder, made a couple of unintelligible grunts. The big figure looked at him, though his eyes were covered in shadows. He started to walk away, with Kalex’s sister in his shoulder, and the scepter in the other.
“Come back, you son of a bitch! Give me my sister back!” Kalex yelled from the ground, spitting with every word he said. “Miyuu!” he growled, unable to control the electric surge from his body. He started to twitch and twist as the shadows disappeared once again, heading for the south.
Kalex, alone now in the tunnel, was left to hear the echo of his own voice, yelling, then crying the name of his sister. Miyu.

Aria walkd through the pass, grumpy again at having to be sent to South Hyrule. She seemed to be grumpy a lot ever since she left Parapa Desert for the first time about a year ago. The Gerudo wondered if other Garo members were sent to other sub-regions all the time. She then wondered if there were even other members of the Garo; the only ones she had ever met were Queen Aldrea and her right hand woman Geraldine, Gertrude, Ismelda, Matilda, and Lenora.

Her thoughts were interrupted as yelling reached her ears.

“Miyuu!”

The echoes in the cave made it difficult to tell, but Aria felt slightly confident that the voice was coming from ahead of her. She broke out into a run, and it wasn't long until she almost ran over a Zora lying on the stone floor, trapped by rocks. "Are you okay?" she asked as she began her attempts of prying the rocks off of the member of the aquatic race.

For a few more seconds, Kalex kept struggling against his stone prison. The sparks kept on flying of his body until they started to diminish and completely drained his magic energy.

He ignored the arrival of the woman, assuming that he would be able to free himself then leave her behind soon enough, no need for names or manners. Mentally, he tried to summon the power of earth to break the rocks that held him in place, but as he tried to cast the spell, he felt nausea and migraines; he had used up all of his magic stupidly releasing electricity, now he could no longer take more energy.

Kalex gave up; his head fell softly on the floor, leaving him no place to look but up, where the only point of interest was the stranger whose greeting he had so cynically ignored. To his mild surprise, the woman was doing some vague attempt to free him; the rocks slowly yielded until the ones holding his arms were removed, and the Zora instantly bent upwards, and removed the rest of the rocks himself. He kneeled, still being dizzy over the vacuum effect of trying to use his spell. He looked at the far end of the tunnel, to where the bandits had gone. No, to where his sister had gone.

"I swear that someday, I'll find you and thank you properly" Kalex said, speaking to Aria for the first time. He stood, his ankle hurt from the fight. "I need to go now".

He started to walk away. Less like walking, instead Kales was limping, trying hard to not involve the woman in his chase. He pathetically tried to reach a decent speed, but an elder would have found no trouble in leaving behind. Almost a minute had passed, and the girl was still in sight, and the awkward silence was only broken by Kalex's subtle groans, trying in vain to keep going.

Aria stood up, ready to continue on her own way. However, this Zora was injured, and the Gerudo knew that injured people often didn't survive long in the wild if they remained injured. He needed her help, but he was making it clear that he didn't want help.

Aria tightly closed her eyes and sighed. She was such a hypocrite.

By walking, she was easily able to catch up to the Zora. "You're injured," she said, aware that she was stating the obvious. "The only thing of medicinal value I have on me is aloe vera juice, but that's for burns. You need to get to a town. If you're not going to do that, at least let me travel with you so some animal doesn't think of you as an easy meal."
