Standing two stories high and requiring the entire consolidated efforts of the Lon Lon Ranch, the Olive B. Ranch, and a host of fairies, the annual Grand Celebration cake stood in the same place as always, towering above the festivities. Children crowded around it, begging for a piece or twenty. Only two Knights were on guard this year, and they simply weren't able to patrol the whole cake at once, so several grubby brats were able to swipe a finger's worth of frosting now and then before running off giggling with their hand in their mouth.

The only one who seems really perturbed by this is the main architect of the baked good--a certain full-grown fairy in green clothing. Tingle stomps his feet angrily at any child who comes near, the task of handing cake out to the festival-goers slipping his mind. Luckily, Quartermaster Hithos is standing by--hands scrubbed clean of all soot and other undesirable stains--cutting the cake into pieces and handing them out to the neverending line of people.

With a kind smile, he eyes the next person in line--you. "Ah, there you are. Was wondering when you'd show up. You know, it's because of people like you that we have this Celebration. Feel free to have as much cake as you like."

The delectable slice sits there on a plate, mere feet from you. Can you possibly deny such a treat?

Aria walks up to the cake, impressed by the size. This is only possible in Hyrule. The hugeness of the cake is one factor for why the Gerudos can't replicate this amazing feat, but the lack of the proper ingrediants in the desert is another.

As such, the dessert is a delicacy for the ranger, and Aria savors every bite of her slice, knowing full well that with the amount of people in North Castle, she will not be getting another piece, even from a cake of that magnitude.

This is surely something to make her fellow Gerudos jealous of. She cannot wait to get back to Parapa and taunt the other women with how the desert is just as good as....Well, maybe not just as good, but it does come in a close second.

~The annual cake at North Castle is almost as legendary as the hero of time himself. To some, maybe even more so, and for good reason. Cake is damn good stuff, and more cake is.... more damn good stuff. Not just times two either. This thing is gigantic. Very very, goddess-damned excellent stuff.

And so, Pyralin had been rather crushed, when last year he had missed it. Two years ago, he had been blessed by its wonderous flavor, but last year he was left bereft and without the delightful delicacy of Hyrule-style celebration cake. This year, he would not miss out. No, indeed, he would not.

"Cake!"

And with that glorious battle cry, he ripped his piece out of the hands of the good Quartermaster, and dug in.~

Rosen had a lot of traversing to go through to reach the small leviathan of frosting that stood engulfed by the crowd, slowly sinking farther beneath his height as slices were cut and the cake began to find itself smaller than it once thought it was. The goron waded through the waters of children, his sword shewing them away with the stubbornness of his age as he moved slowly forward, occasionally moving back against the lapping waves of people as the crowd was quick to neglect the old goron who nudged their shoulders with the hilt of his sword.

"Excuse me...ahem...excuse me!" He muttered between spasms of phlegm and coughing as the close encounters and caged ambiance of being far too large and complimented with the feeling of being far too close to strangers courted a certain nausea to his stomach...but being a goron...he was determined to satiate or drown that nausea in something edible...and that cake looked mighty edible from the shrinking crowd that was far quicker at retrieving their piece of the cake.

"Aaarggh" came out a bellow between the parsed lips of two lovers as they exchanged intertwining spoonfuls of cake. "Love birds...might as well be love whales." He said as he forced his arm between the two and slid the whole of his stomach between them, stretching their intimacy a good meter or two as he moved forward. "Keep eating you too and you'll 'both' look like me, eying the girl who seemed to grimace at his rudeness.

"hmph."

Finally, it seemed that after an obnoxious effort, Rosen had reached his destination, eying the cake with an air of wonderment."

"Well then old timer, you gonna let me die before I get my piece." He stammered, finishing off his sentence with a grin as he pulled back his beard, letting it waft in the breeze, nearly smacking the two lovers that were still rather uncomfortably close to him. "Might not be long now, better hurry...for the both of us."

OOC: THANK GOD IT'S HA2'S BIRTHDAY! WOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOO, TALK ABOUT GREAT TIMING.

Needed this cake more than you think. Hoorah everybody. Hoorah!

Saber could sum up his feelings about the annual cake in a very orderly list.

1. Free Food.

2. Better than what Mom used to make.

3.Free Food.

4. That strange sense of invigoration that the cake always left in his mouth. The taste of improvement? Steroids? Who knew.

5. Free Food.

The obnoxiously long wait in line was well worth it for the mercenary, especially when he saw that it was Hithos who was handing it out. It wasn't often he got to see the Quartermaster anymore.

He took his piece and eyed it, deciding to see how well he could resist temptation. He soon learned, not well.

Well, fifteen seconds is a record somewhere, isn't it?

The adventurers who braved the perilous journey through the crowd to reach the cake were well rewarded for their efforts. As the delectable baked good slides down their throats, they are filled with an incredibly sense of power. It is clear that, like all its predecessors, this cake is filled with mass loads of TINGLE-Juice, or whatever that crazy dude puts in his cooking.

Hithos smiles warmly as they devour it. "Good, huh? Powerful stuff, that."

Powerful stuff indeed, powerful enough to make the defenders of Hyrule that much more formidable as they begin a new year of defending the Kingdom from those that would wreck it.

Aria, Pyre, Rosen, and Saber have earned 1 TP.

Eberron stared at the cake in abject admiration. Whoever had created such a mammoth culinary delight of epic proportions was obviously a master of pastry, the sultan of frosting and the king of... Running out of words, Eberron decided to settle for 'tasty stuff'. Running forward, desperate to get in line and have some himself, Eberron was living proof of this cake's immense power over the senses of any sentient being. He ate rocks. A cake was clearly not a rock. And yet he wanted it more then any rock he had seen in his life. Finally reaching the front of the que, Eberron grabbed a piece and ran to the side, savouring the moment for a whole 2 seconds before devouring the entire piece in one huge gulp. Rubbing his stomach, Eberron sighed as he lent back and fell to the ground. Chuckling to himself, Eberron watched and saw the children running around excited by the new arrival. He saw the huge variety of peoples gathering to help themselves, he saw the generosity of those around him, the level of general happiness and joy this simple event had brought.

"Life, is very good."

Content with this simple maxim, Eberron rolled himself to his feet, found a safe spot to rest his weary body from travelling and slept happily, the noise of merriment ringing in his ears.

OOC: Couldn't resist posting in a cake topic before leaving you could I! See everybody after the weekend

Shigure stood staring at the giant Cake, drool cascading from his lips. He remembered his manners, and wiped away the ooze, before taking a step forward, and accepting the slice of cake. He tossed the entire slice into his mouth, but held it there, extracting all the flavor possible. Heaven had just thrown a parade in his mouth, and Shigure swallowed, holding out the plate for seconds.

OOC: Dogura is dead... this event just happened to late. I had to use Shigure, and I'm sorry. Will this work? Sad excuse for a post, I know, but it's like 2:30 AM over here, I'm tired, and I have a few more topics to look over. Goodnight everyone.

"CAAAKKKKEEE BBBAAABBBYYYYY!!!!!!"

Zeze screamed this from the top of her lungs, pushing Sakiko out of the way. She rubbed her hands together delightfully at the prospect of something sweet going down her throat. Goddesses, it's been decades since I had anything good to eat. The Bard was about to reach her hand to grab it...

Slap

"Yach! What the--"

Sakiko hovered her hand over Zeze's, a stern look on her face.

"I remember the last time I had to waste my energy and resources pulling out a certain tooth of yours. If you want to eat something sweet, then remember to brush your teeth...as a punishment of last time..."

The Mage grabbed the cake and chewed it thoughtfully in front of the shocked Zeze. Hm, it wasn't at all detestably horrible as she had thought. Not a big fan of sweets nonetheless, she gave the remaining cake to Zeze, who hungrily chomped it up.

Far from the madness of the Celebration, Victor watched with abject horror. It hardly seemed worth it, this year. All those people... too much work for such a stupid...

He closed his eyes, and sighed. It wasn't like he had a choice, anyways. The annual cake's magical properties were too good to pass up, even if they were delivered in an undesirable form.

Whatever happened to the days where all it took was a long, difficult dungeon full of enemies?

Oh well, simpler times.

In a few moments the Bard was fighting through the crowd with the rest of them, politely advising people to move it or lose it until he could reach the Quartermaster. When he did, he sighed again, took his piece, and smiled a weak thanks.

Then, slow, painful bites... for about twenty minutes, and he was done.

Abel may love celebrations but personally he prefered the cake which tasted like somthing the Goddeses would make. he saw quartermaster Hithos was handing out the cake which was good considering he was to be Abel's future teacher. When Hithos gave him the cake Abel wolfed it down it was good but then he remembered that he would have to wait tell next year for another piece.

It had been a long time since Darilan spent time in or around the castle. When he was growing up he had gotten used to the wonderful food that they served in the castle. He couldn't remember the last time he had food that looked this good. This reminded him how much he missed that. Without being able to resist, he reached out and grabbed the slice of delicious cake. Before he dove in, he stopped himself to inspect his slice and make sure those darn kids hadn't stolen any of his frosting. And they hadn't, which was a good thing. Who knew where their dirty hands had been... Darilan took a bite of the cake, and it was wonderful.

The boy, for the strangest reason, had an incredible desire to eat the festival cake, even though he never did like the taste of the giant pastry. Still, as he had learned before, there was something special to the cake that allowed those who ate it to grow stronger. No one had been able to tie down the strange empowerment with anything concrete enough to make sense, but so far no one had died, so everyone was content enough with magic cake.

Shaking his head to clear it of all worries, the boy waited in line to get his piece of cake, and with that, would finish it as soon as possible so that he'd get the power, hopefully without much of the taste.

OOC: HOLY COW IT'S BEEN ANOTHER YEAR ALREADY?!? Where has the time gone?

IC: Leth was not one to participate much in festivities, but the Grand Annual Celebration was not one to be ignored. It had a feeling about it that Leth could not pinpoint, but was nevertheless there. Whatever it was, it just made him feel like this was where he was meant to be. It made him feel at home.

Now, where was that cake?

There was always a cake. Leth didn't exactly trust it, because that little green weirdo always makes it. And the strange hey-I-feel-like-running-four-thousand-miles feeling told him that there was something out of the ordinary inside. But whatever it was, he had eaten two pieces of it and hadn't died yet. And it was pretty good stuff. So he couldn't resist searching it out to grab another piece. Not that it was hard to find, mind you; it towered above everything in the marketplace. It always made him wonder where Tingle found an oven large enough to bake it... Leth accepted a slice and munched into the cake. "Mmm... Just as good as last year." He glances up at the man in green tights. "I don't know why I trust this cake..." And then it came. That feeling of strength. Well... time to go do something constructive. Leth thought as he departed the scene.
