The Flying Game

What is all the hubbub about? A flying game? What could that possibly be? It is the trendiest game in Hyrule, brought to you by Hiro and Darkin! Step up to the plate and test your skills! Deku leaf provided!

Okay, this is how it works. Cost is ten rupees. You have to post your stats somewhere here. That IS required. Either Zelda Veteran or I will roll a 20 sided dice. Depending on the quality of your post, you will be awarded 2-4 points for RP talent. Your SPI and INT will be added to your score as well. The resulting number, if higher than 10 but lower than 15, will get you a free try. But if it is higher than 15, you win 20 rupees! Here's an example:

Guy
SPI: 2
INT: 1
Guy leaps off and takes flight. Using the updrafts to his advantage, and conserving as much elevation as possible, steers past the numerous obstacles. He is almost there... does he make it?

original roll: 16
SPI and INT: 3
19! But the post wasn't that great. So no extra points! Guy has won!

Blank steps up to the challenge.

Flying? Unheard of, to soar like the Rito do. It's interesting... alright, you two. Sign me up.

OOC: My stats are in my signature, but I may as well post them anyway.

IC:

Blank pays Hiro the ten rupees due, and grips the Deku Leaf tightly. The last thing he wants is to plummet into the water instantly. Closing his eyes tightly, he takes a run and leaps into the air with an excited yell, propelled forward by the wind. Opening his eyes, he glances down at the waves crashing into the shoreline below. He sees Darkin and Hiro becoming smaller and smaller as he flies away from them. The sun in his face, the wind blowing through his hair, and his tunic rustling as he glides into oversized cyclones above the water make him feel as relaxed as ever before. As he is carried further into the air, he feels as one with the Goddesses, his ascension gives new meaning to the word "free." And then, out of nowhere, a gull rockets into him.

Damn bird, get the hell out of my face!

The bird's feathers make it hard for him to see the end of the course. He wonders how well he will do.

Blank is thoroughly surprised that Darkin didn't attempt another noogie. Waving goodbye, extra currency in hand, he begins to wander back through the desert, eager to be out of the hot sun.

OOC: Hahaha, first contestant and first winner of the newest mini-game. It was a pretty cool mini-game in Wind Waker, it's neat that you two brought that into play. I've just thought of another idea for a game... Mayeb I'll pitch it in a month or so.

IC: Darkin is just now getting back from posting flyers. He flies over Blanks head, and yells a goodbye, and meets up with Hiro. Hey Hiro! I posted them in the most popular places. Hyrule castle courtyard, Rauru town, The Windmill, and Rito town goron district. People will be sure to pour in! I also posted one near Doguras Summer home right here in parapa!

Waddles steps up to the game center. He has no experience in the air, but a little fun could never hurt, and so he approaches the counter.

"Eh, I'll take a try at this. Flying looks like fun, wonder how easy it'll be... Anyways, you said it was 10 rupees. Here's the dough, and off into the air for me."

Waddles grabs the odd device and tries to jump into the air. Jumping onto the leaf, he pulls up and immediately falls backwards off of it after obtaining a height no greater than 8 feet. Cursing at his lack of ability, Waddles snatches up the leaf for another go. This time, however, his attempt is less rash. He levels the leaf with his eyes, trying to make it level with the ground, and then he slowly lowers it to his knees. Waddles brings his legs up and over the green nightmare of a flying device, and stands on it. As he makes his way upward, he begins to lose his balance once again. He is prepared for this and quickly falls to his knees for a more sturdy hold on the leaf. This proves to correctly stabalize his flight as he reaches heights of 20, then 30 feet. As Waddles progresses through the course, his speed gradually increases and his confidence grows. He even goes as far as to stand up for a second, but the wind resistance gently pushes him back, and he reclaims his former position on his knees before another drastic fall. Now Waddles is in the clouds, and small water particles condense on the tip of his nose, and his eyes become moist from the intensity. Slowly he continues to rise, even reaching above the clouds. As his eyes begin to see clearly the sky above the clouds, Waddles is blinded by the unshielded sun, unaware that it would be so bright once the clouds no longer covered it. Whipping his arm up to cover his eyes, Waddles loses his balance, and begins to violently spin out of control. Terrified, he takes a quick glance in front of him, seeing the finish of the course just ahead of him. If he can gain control, there may still be hope yet of reaching his destination...

original role: 16
this is already winning, so the rest doesent matter much.
be sure to let royal guard know you won, and show him this page.

OOC: just so you know, you have to actually donate 5 rupees to me, and 5 rupees to Zelda forever. Then if you win let royal guard know. If you dont win, we keep the rupees. Its your gamble, and I promise we will NOT lie to you! Its hard to lose actually.

OOC: Wasn't your original plan to have SL13/MG/Royal Guard just take our Rupees/distribute Rupees like other games?

by Zeldaforever
OOC: Yeah, that was the plan. Cuz it's not that fair, and it'll clutter inbox and all that... Maybe our next idea will be for a treasure chest game?

OOC: That would be good. You'll never guess the idea I thought up. But just in case, don't guess.

However, when a PM gets sent to Royal Guard, it goes to only one of them, a different one every time I believe. Some aren't active, so what if our PM never gets read?

OOC Wow, you have got a good point there. But, I think it would be safe to send a PM to shadowlink13. He is moderately active and would get the message eventually. Any thoughts?

By the way... it kinda sucked that my RPing bonus didn't need to be used for the Flying Game - it took my a while to type all that and think it up. :(
