Sage Artorius, head Sage and Keeper of Lore for Hyrule's Royal Family sits outside his humble cottage, admiring the warm day that envelopes the Great Crossroads. As you walk up to him, he smiles, "Hello my child. I wonder if you have come to ask me a question about Hyrule Adventures 2? I will clarify any issues you have with the bylaws and details here, if you so wish me to do so!"

Pende was continuing to explore the land surrounding the home of that cutie he met earlier when he came across a man.

'Question? um, let me think of one....'
"Yes, I have a question. I seek to become a mage. Do you know what the requirements are?"

"Actually, I can help you with that!" Artorius announces proudly, "Return to me when you possess three talent points worth of Mage-involved talents/spells. I will then train to officially become a Mage!"

Overhearing what the old sage had to say as he enters the cabin, Darilan interupts, "Build my skills in the art of magic, you said? And you can train one to become a mage? I feel that it is the path I should seek, to aid Hyrule to the best of my ability.

'But, don't I need to be a mage to learn mage spells? Perhaps he ment scholar'

"Hmmm, well I know the Spell called Spell.

'either the person who made that spell was very uncreative, or that was the very first spell made, so it didn't need to be named anything else at the time.'

"Would that count as a mage spell? I was also thinking of learning Life. After I learn that, I can come here and become a mage, correct?"

OOC: In this particular case, a scholar can learn the talents of the subclasses, but they cannot use them until they achieve that subclass. How did you learn Spell? You'd need a TP for that, as well as to purchase the spell scroll itself from a shop.

'This man is the perfect target for a thief, but I need some information so I guess that will have to wait.' "Excuse me Sage Artorius I would like to know where I could find the leader of this so called leader of the Blind's Gang. Do you know where I could find this man?"

OOC: Wasn't aware of that, I'll fix it.

Pende wanted to cast spell to show that he knew it, but to his surprize, Pende never had it in the first place!

'Hmmm? I was sure I knew that spell. I really cast thunder that time! Oh well, i guess it was just gas.'

'This man is the perfect target for a thief, but I need some information so I guess that will have to wait.' "Excuse me Sage Artorius I would like to know where I could find the leader of this so called leader of the Blind's Gang. Do you know where I could find this man?"
'Why is this guy asking where Blind is? I suppose he'll be asking some guard or Zelda next! Isn't this sage guy supposed to be a servant to Royalty or something?'

"Blind the Thief? Ho ho ho... I haven't heard of him in the North Kingdom for years. Your best bet is to find an employee of his. Sorry I can't help you more with that."

OOC: I noticed in the rules that it said we get a TP per level? I got one from the quest, so I have 1 for sure. How do I go about purchasing a spell or something?

You get one per level, but not for the first level.

Check out the talents section in the Rules Set. It lists the costs of learning each spell. In addition you'll need to buy a spell scroll to use the spell, but those aren't added yet. Look for those tomorrow. Until then you can use the spell with impunity as if you did have the scroll.

TALENT BOOK
Costs: SCHOLAR (1 S, 2 V, 3 G); VAGABOND (1 V, 2 G, 3 S); GRUNT (1 G, 2 V, 3 S).
OOC: Does this mean, for a scholar, that it would cost twice as many talent points to get a vagabond skill and 3 times as many points to learn a grunt skill?

OOC: Pende, I think that the example you quoted refers to the Weapons, in particular. In that context, the only "X class only" weapon is the Garrote. All others can be learned by all classes; however, yes--you're right. It would cost a scholar 2 TP (double, instead of 1) to begin to use a Boomerang (Vagabond "dominant" weapon).

I don't think any (at least, not many) of the other items in the Talent Book are base class "dominant" but not "restricted." Hope that helps!

A question: since Spells will all require spell scrolls/books/tomes, does learning a new Ability (Swim), Weapon Proficiency (Bow), Language (Gerudic), or Song (Call of Din) also need some equivalent to this, in addition to TP spent? Like "training" with a master somewhere?

"Sage, I have another question. How much ammo can an ammo bag store?"
