just as you draw your sword, it yells

I am the last surviving deku from a slaughter that happened not long ago, the sorceror who did this to me is realy powerfull, and the only thing that can turn me back is a scroll found in the shop of wonders! I tried to buy it off the salesman but he ran off! if you agree to help, i'll even give you the money needed to get the scroll! will you help?

Seeing the monster, Denning, at first, gets out his starff, when he hears his plea, he rests his staff.
"I will help you, for it is my duty to help those in need. Where could I find this salesman?"

the deku/monster is happy to see someone help

just north of here, he will ask you a question, if you answer it correctly, come back, and I will give you the money.

Denning comes walking back.

Denning studies the scroll, then uses the spell on the monster.

when the incantation is done, the beast returns to his deku form
