A test for power

As you wonder the desert, you come upon Denning. His cloak, tunic and staff lay away form him. His long pants are all that are on him. He is near a large dust devil, by the looks of him, hes been in the desert a while now. As he nears the dust devil, he gets into his stance. His arms raise as his hands glow a faint green.

A few seconds later a great green sheild is formed around the dust devil.

Denning moves his hands together, and with that, the sheild compreses onto the dust devil.

After a moment, the dust devil looses momentum and is destroyed. Denning kneels down and regans his strength.

OOC: Just to let you know, a dust devil is a small tornado of sand.

Blank approaches the cleric, expressing slight awe after seeing the impressive maneouver. He is surprised to see Denning without his cloak on. Standing next to him, the nomad speaks to the cleric.

So... what was that all about?

Panting, Denning looks at Blank

"A test *heavy breathing* A test to see if...to see if I could make a bigger sheild...to block something else...it worked...but not for long...I need to get more...more stamina...I need this skill...so much...so much power! Think! I could...could cover all of the castle from dragons...or...or make the king prisoner...along with all of the castle! So much power...so much."

Denning stares off into the desert.

Blank can't help but smile when he hears Denning voice his concern over the protection of the castle, but the grin is short-lived when he hears the second comment, the one pertaining to the evil uses of the power. The nomad recalls previous encounters with the cleric; he wonders if this has anything to do with the latest of Denning's troubles, of which Blank had overheard bits and pieces of in one of the courtyard's back allies.

Well, if you need more stamina, you'll just have to learn to expand your health. You know how to do that, it shouldn't take you too long. So, why is it you crave this power so greatly?

"Revenge. Revenge on the council, on the kingdom of Hyrule. They ruined my life, I now must stay in hiding. But if they are removed from their seats of power...I can come back. If I am to slay Deoxolips, perhaps they shall break my sentence. I need moe power to do either of those. To slay Deoxolips, or force my return upon Hyrule. Therefore I shall study, and gain power, until I am good enough to get my life back."

So that's what this is all about.

Blank absorbs the new information, saying it over in his mind to himself to make a suitable understanding of Denning's situation. Something had made him believe that the council of clerics was involved, and he was right. He tries to think about all that he knows about Denning. He knows that the vengeful Sheikah is in hiding for the murder of a friend and Knight, but he did not realise that this council that Denning speaks of had been involved. Or was there more to it?

Well, I've said this before on many occasions, Denning, but if you need our help, we will aid you in this. Now, I know you don't want others to get involved, but we're your friends. We're obligated to stand up for you.

Blank wonders if his small "friend speech" would take the effect. It was quite the sappy string of sentences, especially from a grunt like himself. Remembering something else, he adds to the reasons for peer involvement.

Besides, there's nothing to do around here.
