Yeah Sega was good, especially Sonic.
Your cat is stupid by the way.

The sonic games were awesome, they were unique in the way that the gameplay was fast and furious. ;D

Did he just insult AK cat?

On topic-I just bought the Sonic mega collection Plus for my PS2 yesterday.  Ah, the problem with Sonic was that it never needed to go into the 3-D plane.  It was perfectly fine as a 2-D side scroller.  And don't tell me that 2-D side scrollers are dead because Viewtiful Joe is doing just fine.

Because frankly, the Sonic games of recent times suck in lack of a better word.  They do nothing to catch my interest.  And the 2-D versions they have been making have been average.

They have Sonic for PS2?

More of a compilation, what it is, is Sonic the Hedgehog's 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles, and a bunch of other failed Sonic games, such as the Game Gear titles, Sonic 3-D blast(personally, i thought it was the beginning of the end there), Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine.  Need I say more.  But it is good for being direct ports of the original Sonic games, for only 20$.  You can ignore the rest of the games though, they're not so great.  Also, it has(unlocked seperately) the lock on editions of Sonic and Knuckles, to Sonic the Hedgehog's 2 and 3.  Because if anybody remembers, S & K could lock on to other Sega games.

Yes I remember, but I haven't played sonic in so long.

It's only 20 dollars.  And it's a complete revision of the game.  No tweaks or bugs, just the memories.

Post by: JDog on June 20, 2006, 02:40:10 PM
Can you get it at Wall mart, and can you get it for other systems or just PS2?
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: Gamefreak on June 20, 2006, 02:41:13 PM
I believe the Collection is out on the other major consoles.
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: JDog on June 20, 2006, 03:52:25 PM
So can you get it for DS?
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: Gamefreak on June 20, 2006, 04:05:46 PM
No, just the consoles.
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: JDog on June 20, 2006, 04:07:49 PM
O Fooey. So do you think they will release one for the Wii? Or PS3?
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: Gamefreak on June 20, 2006, 04:08:55 PM
No, though they are developing new Sonic games for each of the Next-Gen consoles.  Though with the low standards set for Sonic games nowadays, I'm being skeptical about it.
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: JDog on June 20, 2006, 04:10:05 PM
O, do you think they will make a sonic game for DS, or the other handheld systems?
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: Gamefreak on June 20, 2006, 04:20:05 PM
I think a DS game is in the works.

I agree with Gamefreak. 2-D sonic was much better than 3-D sonic. its like what some people say with mario games: he was better in 2-D (which i do, in a sense, believe)

Post by: Gamefreak on June 21, 2006, 07:36:23 AM
It was a series that never needed the third dimension for help.  The same point goes for Mario.  He's just been one big gimmick lately.

Agreed. The only truly great Mario games are the 2D platformers, the RPG games, Mario Kart and SM64. I'm glad there are two new 2D platformers on the way (New Super Mario Bros. and Super Paper Mario).

QuoteI think a DS game is in the works.

It's been released. ;)

I mean seriously, what profession hasn't Mario been in the last few years.  I know he hasn't been a "Pro" Wrestler, but it will happen.

Post by: JDog on June 21, 2006, 09:42:52 AM
Well he hasn't been in football, or basketball.

Basketball is in the works for the DS 8)
Its called Mario Hoops 3 on 3
And a football is in the works (in think, dont quote me on this) for the Wii.

There's going to be a Super Mario Rugby game soon at this rate.  Super Mario stockbroker, Super Mario Rocket Scientist.  The sky's the limit.

Yeah, ok I like the Saga, its a shame mine died. Why didn't they make mario for Saga?
Title: Re:SEGA
Post by: Gamefreak on June 21, 2006, 07:27:18 PM
Because in the early days of 16 and 32 bit gaming.  Nintendo and Sega were two of the fiercest competetors for the console market.  But Sega lost it's hold on the industry when Sony entered the fray.

No, Sega doesn't do consoles anymore.  They bombed on the Dreamcast and now they just make games.

Who wants to go to Paris.  London is much better.  Paris won't appreciate you.  Plus they don't like Americans too much in France.  That's why I replaced all my French fries with American Fries.
