Title: Storms in Ohio
Post by: Gamefreak on June 24, 2006, 11:37:02 AM
As many of you may be aware, there were major storms in Northwest Ohio.  Many cities have declared States of Emergencies.  Among the worst hit were Toledo, Huron County, and others.  As residents of these parts, both I and Truthinite have too been personally affected by these storms.  My house has been unaffected by these storms.  We just got quite a few inches of rain and some minor leaks in the roof.  If anyone would like to comment, then go ahead.

Poor you!
Where I live the weather is pretty calm, I mean we get really hot days, storms, really cold days etc. But we never have Major storms or natural disasters. About 15 years ago there was the Great storm but that wasnt spectacular compared to other places!

Yeah it was kinda bad.  But I'm ok, and so is Truthinite, he lives in my neighborhood.

Cool. The only thing about where I live is tsunamis.
I mean they have NEVER happened where I live because of platelines and so on, but I live 10 secs from the beach so I would be easily stranded as our road is a dead end with the open end looking straight-on towards the Sea.

Well this has been the worst storm in 60 years, so I wouldn't say it happens often.

yeah Truthinite, we can talk like this in real life.  Here, we keep on topic, or we can act like idiots on the Chatboard.

To answer your question JDog, major thunderstorms.

Our part of the city wasn't hit hard.  We're on higher ground, so floods never really get us.  Plus the drain system in our neighborhood is good.

There was a flood!?!?!??!?

And by my calculation and knowing the fact that storms usually travel south the tornado wouldn't have scaved us (maybe the south end of toledo)

All weather ALWAYS travel from West to East.  I know this from watching the news every morning.  Although whether it goes Southeast or Southwest is up to the wind.

And yes JDog, about 10 inches of rain.  Some people claim that there was about 3 standing feet of water in thier basements.

It stormed during my grad party.  That sucked.  Luckily we were inside, but it took away the outdoor activities.
