Start out with DMC3 then GF, it's a prequel to DMC1 so you will learn the story a bit better.

DMC2 barely had a story. I really hope DMC4 clears things up.

ya I didn't like dmc2 realy at all because dante was like so lifeless and he didn't tell off all the bosses like in dmc3. :D
