As Link rode back into the ranch gates, it was eerily quiet. Link looked around, a bit confused. Hello? Link called out. Nobody answered. He dismounted Epona and opened the barn doors. Malon? Zelda? Ingo? Link walked back out of the barn, and into the ranch house. He searched everywhere, and found only the cuccos cackling about. Link felt a sad haze around him that made his spine tingle. He dashed up the stairs and threw open the door. Only Talon and Ingo were there. Talon was sleeping, and Ingo was reading the paper. Link sighed. Ingo, have you seen Zelda or Malon? Ingo didn’t look up from his paper, as he growled, Malon said something about going to help you kill the moon, and Zelda followed. What!! And you just let them go?!? Eyes never leaving the paper, Ingo snuffed, why would I? Less work on me. Link grabbed Ingo by the shirt and slammed him against the wall. You’re the adult here. If anything has happened to them, it’s your head. Link dropped him, and exited the room. Ingo got up a little shaken. I could have taken him. He mumbled. Looks to me like you need a new pair of trousers Ingo! Talon chuckled.
Meanwhile….
So you are clear on what you are to do. Ganondorf assured. Yes sir. They all said in unison. Now go! Ganondorf ordered. Wait a minute Ganondorf. Said Agnihm from the window. I think I have a better idea. Ganondorf walked over to the window, and smiled. I like the way you think Agnihm. Thank you sir. He hissed, as he walked toward the door. Agnihm returned with Zelda, and Malon over his shoulder. He held up two bottles. Their souls are imprisoned in these magic bottles. My specialty. Skull kid jumped in glee. Now we have Link in the palm of our hands! Ganondorf turned to Vaati. Would you like to deliver the message Vaati? I would be happy to. He hissed. And no funny stuff, Ganondorf ordered. I want you back here in one piece. Vaati scowled, and disappeared.
Meanwhile…
A bead of sweat rolled down links face, as he mounted up Epona. They raced to Hyrule castle as fast as possible. I hope they are all right! As he said that he noticed something odd. Epona was no longer beneath him. He hit the ground full force, and rolled a couple yards. Epona had stopped. Link winced in pain, and walked over to Epona. What's the matter girl? Is something wrong? Epona was staring hard at something in front of them. Link followed her gaze, and noticed a form floating toward them. Vaati’s face came into view. Link drew his sword and said, Are you back for another beating? Because I have a swell bad mood going. Vaati frowned, and spoke. I would just like to inform you that we have Zelda and Malon’s souls in bottles. Link’s face went pale. Y-Your bluffing! Link stammered. Vaati grinned. Am I? If you want them alive, you will come to the inner chamber of the castle. With that Vaati disappeared. Link collapsed out of surprise. He looked at Epona. She had sorrowful eyes. You understand, don’t you Epona… Epona lay down next to Link. What am I going to do girl? If I go, they will kill me, and do away with Zelda and Malon regardless of what I do. And pounding the snot out of Ingo sure isn’t going to get them back. Just what am I going to… do… With that something came over Link. All went Black.
