Yeah, certain people who have done this as of recently have made me mad.

Certain people, who we shall not name... But is there anything we can do to deter future such pranks that make people worry for no reason?

No, but it still makes me mad, those are the kind of people I don't like, people that lie to me. And pranks are like Lies.

Pranks are lies. And what makes it worse is that people trusted them and they betrayed that trust. They betrayed that friendship that was created for the sake of a joke that made people worry that they were hurt and afraid. No words I can sum up quite sum up the feelings I have on this matter. But one that does come quite close not anger, but disapointment.

Well with this joke we don't know about, only Zelda Veteran knows, and I'm siding with him on this one, because I've known ZV on Desert colossus scince June 2nd, and I think I can trust ZV.

June 2nd of this year?

Yeah, and try not to get of topic.

I'm not.  It's just that you've only known him for a month.  I mean, I'm not saying Zelda Veteran isn't trustworthy, I'm just saying that it's only been a month.

Well its not the lanth of how long I've known ZV, It's how much I've been talking to him, he was the first person I've meat at the forums, now were getting of topic, anyway, people that make Internet Pranks agravate me.

True.  I haven't known Zelda Veteran much longer.

What do you mean, much longer, also your still getting off topic.

He really isn't, necessarily; as pranks get pulled, trust decreases, and Gamefreak is talking about how much you trust ZV. In other words, trust is the link between what Gamefreak's talking about and the topic.

Anyway, I, too, am not that happy with the most recent prank for three reasons:

1.) To keep getting information on the matter, I had to post in a topic that SHOULD'VE BEEN in the Chatboard. Since it wasn't, I got my post level up for really no reason, other than circumstance.
2.) My inbox skyrocketed that night to about 80 messages! I'm trying to keep my messages low now so I don't have to wait to view new ones.
3.) Last, but definitely not least, I had to stay up past 1 o'clock in the morning! I'm trying to prevent that as well!

Lesson learned, folks: on the Internet, things are not always what they seem.

Well, he should get back on, and appoligiez, because ZV knows him, and says its a hoax, so he should appoligize. He was telling me this thing about his girlfriend dieing, and it didn't sound like he was that serious, because people don't just tell somebody that right out of the blue. I mean, he just said it, like nothing happened.

I think he sent me that message with an emoticon. I apparently fell for that gag, too.

Besides, how would the killer know if he killed his girlfriend if he never knew him, assuming they didn't know each other.

Where'd he get "Bob Lancer," anyway?

I don't even know who the hell bob lancer is.

So this all happened here?  Apparently the prank wasn't directed at me.  Could someone fill me in?

In general discussion, there should be a topic called Stranger in the house... "We think."

Yeah, I think it's like on the 3rd or 4th page now though.

I hope those topics get deleted, the ones on that Emerald link prank.

It's not hurting anything.  It's just a topic floating around in the refuse of the board.  It's locked, so nobody can post in it except mods.

I know, but we all got posts, and we don't need them.

Glad you trust me sora! Thats cool! And also, I think there should be someplace that we could put the stories like that. Same thing with an old topic i found called: This is really freaky. It was a post by jack about a suicidal email. It was interesting to read, and so was that prank. Infact thay both turned out to be pranks in the end. Well I guess we will let this topic sink back to the bottom of the discussion pool. PS: Spring cleaning is starting to sink! :P

No probablem, and did you talk to emerald link2.0 yet?
Title: Re:Internet Pranks
Post by: MagmarFire on July 19, 2006, 10:14:53 AM
Well, interestingly, Sora, I have.

Yesterday, EL2.0 sent me a PM and wondered what went on "while he was away." I hinted to him what had happened, and he said that he let his friend on his account.

I'm not entirely sure, but he appears to be trying to be innocent. He may be trying to get himself off the hook, but I can't be sure.

What do you think, ZV?
