Post by: Mysterious F. on July 14, 2006, 03:03:29 PM
Because there will be so many news topics in the future, I decided just two seconds ago to create a topic to speak of all international news.

I hope that it doesn't become ANY war at all! Yeah, that wish is a little belated, but war is most certainly terrible.

I totally agree, I hate wars, there so bloody, and innocent people die for no reason, because the president or whatever screws up, then the whole thing turns into a war over a simple sentence.

The Middle East has been fighting since Biblical times.  It's not like this is anything new.

The middle east has been in turmoil since the Crusades, it'll never change.

Good point MasterKey, if it wasn't for Christians then the Middle East would probably be quite peaceful.

Are you saying that there's something wrong with the birth of Jesus?

Religion just seems a bit pointless, if it causes loads of fighting - terrorism, crusades etc.
Obviously there are some good things about Religion but it tends to be fairly outweighed by the negative.
I just can't understand why someone would want to live their lives based on something a 2000 year old book says.
And Gamefreak, I am not saying the was "something wrong with the birth of Jesus?", but lets face it no one knows if he even existed and if he had I'm sure he'd be pretty upset at all these people who kill in his name.
Don't you agree?

I believe that nobody should use the name of Jesus to justify killing.  That's not right at all. But I believe if I go much further, we'll be entering a religious debate.

I want to enter a religious debate.

Ive got one thing to say: Jesus did exist, thats for sure, but wether he actually had anything to do with religion  is debatable.( he could have been on crack ;D)

If we HAVE to get into a religious debate, then I will open a topic for it if this escalates.  But before I do, be warned.  Dan the Man tried this once, and well, it didn't end well.  So I don't want to have to do it unless I must.  Also, this topic is for international news.  Your debating whether God exists or not, does not belong here.

You seem supremely confident.
How 'didn't it end well' last time?  What happened?

I do, but I think you should make a topic on this.

Thanks for agreeing Nabooru, you and x*TwilightZelda*x seem to be the only sensible ones on here.
Title: Re:International News

So, because I don't agree with you, I'm not sensible?  That's irrational.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: John Wesley Hardin on July 18, 2006, 05:12:47 AM
You base your views on a book written by a load of random people 2000 years ago, and believe in something that blatently doesn't exist, which is why I don't class you as sensible.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: Evilbob on July 18, 2006, 05:24:00 AM
I have to say, a 2000 year old book isn't much proof of your god. the problem is, as society moves on, the book dosen't. it needs bible patch"v1.1" ;D
Title: Re:International News

Quotebible patch"v1.1"
Very good, someone's got a sense of humour.

Listen, I'm taking a quote from Bill O' Reilly here.

Christians generally live their lives to be good.  Well even if in the end, there is no God, you still lived as a good person.

Also, I will say this again.  This is not a topic for religious discussion.  This is a topic for international news.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: John Wesley Hardin on July 18, 2006, 08:14:34 AM
But religion is the cause of alot of international news, so surely this is valid.
You can still live a good life as a Christian - Atheists do, Muslims do, Hindus do. There is nothing about a good life that only Christians can do.

Post by: Gamefreak on July 18, 2006, 10:16:40 AM
Ok, stop it with the religion.  For the last time, this is not a religious debate topic.
Title: Re:International News

You obviously can think of nothing to back up your deluded beliefs. I'm disappointed.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: Gamefreak on July 18, 2006, 12:44:00 PM
Seriously Jack Fate, one more religious post, and this topic will be locked.  Also, the reason I've stopped arguing is because this is not the topic for it.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: John Wesley Hardin on July 18, 2006, 12:54:57 PM
Why don't you make a topic then Mr. Moderator.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: Gamefreak on July 18, 2006, 12:56:12 PM
Because I would know what I'd be getting into, just ask Dan the Man how it went, oh wait, you can't, he's banned.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: John Wesley Hardin on July 18, 2006, 01:04:23 PM
Lucky him.
I bet you are just too scared that you will lose the arguement.

This topic is being dangerously close to being locked.  And if you keep up the off topic posting Jack Fate, there's a warning for you.  Talk about international affairs, or else.

I'm not much of a person who pays attention to news, but I still don't like terrists, there evil, kill people for no reason, jerks.
Title: Re:International News
Post by: Gamefreak on July 18, 2006, 01:21:05 PM
Thank you for getting this topic back on track Sora.  I don't get where they think that it's logical to kill themselves and others to see God.

That's it, it's over.  I gave several warnings to stop the religious posts.  I'll be starting a new topic.  This time it won't have religious debating.
