Title: Good Memories
Post by: Darth Wyndisis on July 14, 2006, 07:12:40 PM
Hey, look, I found a cached page of the origional Hyrule Adventures on Google.

Page from HA1 (http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:El43qLgyyCsJ:thenexvs.com/colossus/adventure/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D325%26start%3D45%26sid%3D52eaa56a1bad90d58be8768cdb098b63+Queitar&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=4)

Aw, I wish I'd been around for that one. I tried looking for archived pages of it on the Way Back Machine, but couldn't get anything. It must be nice to look back on your roots. But, it's fun for newer HAers like myself to see this and get an idea of what the older version was like.

Good find, Darth.

Yeah, I typed "Wyndisis" into google just to see what I would find and got that.

Ah man, that's really sweet. Blank, I'm with you on this - wish I'd been around for the original, but HA2 is still plenty of fun! ;D It's an awesome find.

Heh heh, yeah, I remember the first time I checked the Way Back machine for HA1. I ended up feeling the same way. Though you should've searched "queitar". I searched that and then clicked on "more results from 'thenexvs.com'" and I got every page from the Dark Acolyte Construction Site (except page 2 ::)), not to mention a few REF topics, apparently. I actually thought you had searched queitar, since the google page made it sound like you did. It really is a wonder what Google can do...

Holy moly, forget the REF junk! Check this gem out:

Woah, sweet!  That is awesome.  That was my favorite thing to write.  Vidunu was someone who got banned for bad behavior so I wanted to justify it by killing of his character.  Too bad part of it is cut off, but it still brings back warm memories just seeing that.

That' something HA2 needs more of: executions  ;D

I did one there... I think it is at the northern shore of Tantari Desert.

Post by: Blank on July 15, 2006, 06:43:39 PM
Yes, I read that one. The title pretty much gives away the topic.

There just aren't any bad-behaved members that actually RP for you to execute right now.

So, did HA1 crash, or was its ending planned?
Title: Re:Good Memories
Post by: Darth Wyndisis on July 15, 2006, 06:47:55 PM
It crashed.
Title: Re:Good Memories
Post by: Blank on July 15, 2006, 06:52:32 PM
Ouch. If HA2 were to crash, I would lose hours and hours worth of profile jimmying. There was a lot of coding involved in that thing  ;D

Worse yet, you'd lose hours and hours of CREATION! Even now I pale at those good old fights that are dead now, to be retrieved only from Google Cache with some effort.

Note that several of us had nearly 2000 exp ^^.

By the way, another holy moly regarding "Vidunu's Execution"--I noticed one of my sister's old posts on that page, for goodness sakes! (Prophetess/Vaneru) That really was a long time ago @_@.

I wish i could have been there for HA1. It would have been cool to look back at that.

The links don't work anymore... :( Terrible. I agree with you, ZV.

Dang I wish the link worked, I would have loved to visit the old adventures of Rugger, Arthur, and Wyndisis again...good times  ;D

Ahh the execution of Vindunu, that was great (aka the stick figure execution haha). I kinda wish we did not do some quests on AIM as there is no documentation of our quest into Death Mountain in which I fell off the bridge and was possessed and had to fight Wyndisis, Arthur and others...that was classic. And then had to stand trial.

You know, HA2 could always use some of you veterans to jump back in. I never had the chance to RP with the infamous Rugger Cole. No better way to recover memories than by reliving them, eh?  ;D

Yeah I thought about it but I have been out of the loop for too long. Maybe once my schedule dies down I might have time to do it again.

Here's hoping that's the case, bgrugby! It'd be good to see some of the old players returning . . . and they could show us newer guys how it's really done! ;D

And remember that time when you went evil and stabbed that religous nut I created with a spear?  Instant classic!

;D  Haha I completely forgot about that, that was classic. That and you constantly trying to convert me to evil...good times.

I am seriously joining HA now...I like roleplaying, I just always forget about it...

Well, Shik, new members are always welcome. Fills the void of having all of the older members disappear.

*(Blank glared at Rugger and Wyndisis and shook his fist.)*

As Alpha said, we newer players need a lesson that only vets can teach  ;D

Well I may break Rugger out of retirement soon the only problem is I have to figure out how he will be since he is no longer the hard-drinking, Goblin-murdering, Goddess-hating, stab first ask questions later kind of guy...I really liked him like that

If only Veteran's Day hadn't passed already, it would've been perfect...

It did pass, right?

Rugger Cole of old sounds like a good guy XD If you need help, just hit me up over PM.

This is great, now if anyone can reel Gorjak, or Pende or someone back, we're doing well.

But let's not forget Kamakaziplumber. You get back, too  ???

how did you know? I really am still trying to figure out how to play and such, I suppose I will always need the rule book up while playing...It's like D&D isn't it? I've been wanting to try that...
Title: Re:Good Memories
Post by: Hi no Seijin on February 14, 2007, 09:32:48 PM
It has very little in common with D&D.  And yes, you should try D&D.
Title: Re:Good Memories
Post by: DW on February 14, 2007, 10:01:08 PM
I'm trying to try it, but my stepmom would kill me if she found out and she keeps tabs on me 24/7.It's really annoying.
Title: Re:Good Memories
Post by: bgrugby on February 15, 2007, 08:45:01 PM
Hmmm it is not too bad as I do not think it is too violent or anything...especially after my character left who liked to stab innocent people in the throats for no good reason   ;D

BTW I did make a post in the game in my character's thread, now I just got to remember the game mechanics
