I have the Disney channel, and every so often I watch it out of pure boredom. I've noticed something that really annoys the heck out of me, and that's because every show I watch has a stereotype. Little annoying sibling, evil older brother/sister, clueless male friend, and countless other stereotypes. The most annoying however is how they portray girls. Usually the girl of the show is a) obsessed about a boy, 2) wants to be popular, 3) is crazy about shopping or fashion, or may be all of the above. Really I'm a girl and I hate shopping, never wanted to be popular, and never drooled in public by looking at the guy I liked. I admit Disney has made some good movies, but when the movie involves kids, that's when the stereotypes comes in and I leave the movie-theater. I absolutely HATE stereotypes of all kinds, especially when it involves girls. I want to own Disney so then I can lead it to the path of non-stupidness.
Recently It has been like that I mean they used to have good stuff but you are right, They are all the same with a small twist. And you notice in thats so Raven the only white person is dumb.
We watched this one movie about a girl who wanted to be a figure skater in a high school assembly. A few people were making fun of the sterotypes. At the party the only black person there was the DJ. C'mon, people.
I am not being racist African people are great I love there music and I want to be in a drum circle with them, I wa sjust saying that is kinda racist.
i know!! Why is the older bro always the evil stan from hell??? That makes me mad. There are a lot of stereotypes, and its easy to find them.
And the step parents are always evil, abusive creatures that wouldn't look out of place in the pits of hell... You'd think if their going to cover a concept as complex as a family being effected by divorce that they would explore different angles of it. But no, the children are disturbed, the step parents are evil and the "real" parents do really love each other and get back together at the end making the whole thing happy again. I'm sorry, but that is not the only option! This is not what happens. I just can't understand why anyone would want to watch such rubbish. Also have you noticed anything that they touch becomes infected like them? I used to love Pixar's fresh, innovative stuff but now that they have been taken over by Disney they are producing a movie called Cars. It looks like a pile of Disney rubbish with no heart (But I may be proved wrong. I hope I am).

That is exactly why I hate Disney. That, and the fact that they take good movies and turn it into complete rubbish. Lilo and Stitch was a good movie, but when they started the series, they made every inhabit stupid. I can see how Stitch can be confused for a dog, but how can something with steros for its ears be mistaken for a koala?! It wasn't even grey! Or how can something that looks mammalian with six arms be considered from Earth. People are not that stupid, Disney.
Disney channel at its best was Even Stevens. What happened to it? Disney killed it, that's what! It was too mature for them!
Also, ever notice how once the Disney channel makes a movie out of a show, there are no new episodes for that show? Or how Disney channel actors/tresses come out with their own CDs?
They hid sexual messages in their movies too.
I never did like the movies they shown.
For me, I very rarely watch the Disney Channel... Heck, I practically don't watch it at all!
On the other hand, yes, Disney's streak of movie greatness almost seems to have come to a halt. The Incredibles, in my opinion, was a good movie (I love doing my Edna impression! :P ); however, it seems that good movies coming from Disney are much rarer than what they used to, what with the complete overload with sequels and whatnot.
Overall, though, I'm willing to give Disney mercy, especially since it helped proved itself worthy with the Kingdom Hearts series.
One of my friends said that disney was a perverted company beacuse in lion king when simba sits down
you can see the wors sex or SFX :o
and disney uses waaay to many sterotypes.
they portray girls as shopping crazy, boy drooling, ditzy morons.
Im a girl and i like video games , some sports and i sometimes find shopping boring 8)
Same here.
In aladin it says good teenagers take off there clothes. ;D
I also hate songs in a movie. Some are good, but most are crummy. The Nightmare before Christmas? I hate all the songs in that movie and they sung every 2 minutes in the movie. I can't stand the singing!!!!
:-X
Nightmare before christmas was their best movie in my opinion.
Th only song i liked from it was this is halloween though.
disney needs a new writer or something. The best movies are the ones that arent animated.
New writers who won't stray away from what The Grimm Brothers wrote down. Cinderella was supposed to be a lot more violent in the end.
Also, the new writers can't stray too much from history. The only facts that were not botched in Pochahontas was Pochahontas', John Smiths, and Governer Radcliff's name.
Even then, Hi no Seijin, it wasn't historically accurate; first of all, John Smith didn't get shot. He was in a gun powder explosion accident, I think. Also, when John Smith met Pochahontas, she was about twelve years old, not an adult.

Right. Only the names were right. That's was what I said.
This is my take on life:
Don't do things potheads or stupid people do.
All the stupid people at my school wanted to see cars so i'm not going to see it untill it dies down a bit.
You can't say Disney is all bad. There's some good classics like the Lion King and Aladdin. Those were some quite good movies.
I would certainly say so; The Lion King is still the highest-grossing, traditionally-animated movie to date...in the world! :)
The old diny movies are classics. However the new movies and cheep T.V serials they produce are rubbish. And money grabbing rubbish at that.
yeah, the 21st century hasn't been great for Disney.
I think I have to partially agree with you on that, Gamefreak; Disney has been making too many sequels lately. They're expecting a Peter Pan III, for Din's Sake! :o
However, Disney has made good movies this decade.
I think Finding Nemo did good. I think they made Narnia, Pirates of the Carribean was good too.
Yes, they made The Chronicles of Narnia. I hope it's a future KH world! ;D
It should be noted that there's another TCoN movie coming out later.
Oooh, that would be a good Kingdom Hearts world.

Really I didnt like lion king, I loved Aladin though!
Lion King was good, depending on how you look at it. But to each their own.
