Big milestone: on July 6, 2005, more than one thousand individual human beings visited The Desert Colossus.
Stats page (http://extremetracking.com/open;sum?login=dcolossu) - the proof is in the pudding.
Now if I could only get all those people to click the ads... :P
That's excellent!
I've been clicking them. You could use subliminal messaging to draw their attention.
Wait... isn't it 151,434 unique visitors? I mean, when I look at the number 1,000 I kinda think "Cool! Wait... that's not a lot, is it?"
Did you mean one hundred thousand?
But ohwell. Success is success nonetheless! Congrats!
the 151,000 is since the site relaunched a year and change ago.
The thousand is from yesterday.
(I wish I got 151k a day!)
Ohh wow! 1K in a day is definitely something else. Excellent, as SL said.
Well, at this rate, come another month or so and you'll be writing a news item that says "Thanks for 200,000 hits!" ^_^
how weird my site ready to hit a 100 in like two views ;D
So, remember how I was just then freaking out about barely breaking 1000? Well, on 7/11, the Desert Colossus received 1287 unique visitors!
The sky's the limit, folks.
i dont c y this place shouldnt get alot of visitors its like the best place 4 zelda info 4 like ever(or at least thats my opinion)thus is y i made it my home page, yes i am a lil obsessive but idc if i am as long as there's other ppl as obessed as me,and trust me i kno there is...and this these forums r awesome!! ;D ;D :P :-[
Thanks! ;D
i used to go to gannons castle all the time but thats place is full of dead end pages. and not really like here because you kindof mingle with your users, jack. i try to do the same with my site but someone always has to spam. :-\ sadly.
Yeah spam is a big problem. That's why I had to move around certain sections (like move the Caption Game away from automatic posting). Though, it worked out for the best in the end, since the Caption Game is more popular than ever.
I enjoy "mingling" with you guys. Though, I don't consider it minging, I consider it being a good host. ;)
We could have more my friend, if we did some proper advertising. I know that costs money but I am will to give a couple of bucks to get some more people to our cause.

yeah i had your link on my site, but it didnt work or something. id be happy to redo the code for you. i was gonna make my own by i have to do that with like every link i put up there. so i become lazy.
I was just about to suggest advertisement but sadly my site's down and Im not so good with ULR's.....so ill just spread the word through my friends.......
I appreciate the sentiment muchly, but I don't want anyone spending their hard earned cash on my regard. Rather, to help spread the word, if you are a member of another forum, put a link to TDC in your signature. Or, tell any of your friends who are interested in Zelda about us.
I'm already working on a different end of advertisement, submitting TDC to a number of different link exchanges and trying to work out new affiliations.
Remember, clicking the Google adds once a day also helps. ;)
Well, I dedicated "Deku Scrubs" to the HA'ers at TDC and linked appropriately, a couple months ago. ^^ Unfortunately, very few people find their way to my little Xanga alley.
ok Jack here is what you do. You have to make the adds look AWESOME!! Might i suggest PH and TP and possible MC and WW and awesome pics on the ads you know what i mean? They would be all like: Holy cow this place rocks! They would click it and boom your on easy street. Its not Dishonesty, i prefer to look at it as exagerated advertisement. A common marketing tool used by the best :D
Yeah Jack and make the link flash to, that always grabs my attention!
