Yes, the title does hint to my choice of topic...see i have a friend that happens to be addicted to smoking...and i just have no idea how to stop her from the deathly addiction...so a little help please.
niocritte, that gum
Well, you can start by making her see why she needs to quit. Point at all the ways smoking is bad for her health, with lung cancer being the most deadly (and painful, I think). Then, if she's willing, I suppose you could find a support group for her to join, as well as get her on some kind of nicotine patch.
Thats terrible. I suggest the same as hi no seijin, and try to gather up a bunch of friends to encourage her to stop.
heh, i've already told her of the slowly killing addiction she has...and she refuses to tell her parents...so she has no funds to buy nicotene patches...
I dont think patches work I know two people who have tried all that stuff. Yes encourage them to stop, and wherever she leaves a pack of them take them and put a bag of lollipops there or your picture of a picture of you with them.
heh, i'd do that...if she wasn't in another state...and even when she gets back...none of her family knows me and i've never been to her house...
i just hate seeing a girl, who's younger than me screwing her life already
i'm a firm believer in that it's not how long you live but what you do with the time you're given...but skinning minutes off your life with cigarettes is not a way to live.
Well hate to say it but shes screwed, unless you can actually talk yo her and convince her out of it. Dont bother with patches it is a further waste of money. Hopefully it is just a stupid fad.
Tell her parents. Its best for her. Even if she will hate you, and most likely never speak to you again, its what is best for her. When she realizes that, she will thank you, im sure.
heh, it's not a fad...i met her maybe two weeks ago...yeah, not very long to already get swallowed in her problems...she's been smoking for who knows how long. she can't throw the packs away cuz her parents smoke too, heh, now we know where she's gotten the bad habit.
yeah, i just have to talk the girl out of it...or maybe take some drastic and not so logical measurements.
and yeah, i'll tell her parents...even if they're smokers too...
I dont think getting rid of them helps remember that, b/c shell just get mad and waste more money on them.
no, she gets them from her parents...sigh, she's got so many problems...but i'm startin with this one...the deadliest one i think.
What else I make a great problem solver.
Both my parents smoke :(
What I do to my Mum is whenever she smokes, I follow her and I start coughing really violently on purpose (as second hand smoke is almost as bad as normal smoke) and complaining about her knocking 10 years off my life (even though she smokes nowhere near anyone else).
Be supportive it is the best thing you can do I guess, as complaining won't help (my mum still smokes, natch).
Say you are there for her. I know a person who got herself off cigarettes by eating plain popcorn whenever she felt like a ciggy. It is quite cheap and not fattening or unhealthy.(unless you get sugared, salted or toffee)
what i heard my friiend does (to his mother) is he steals her packets and throws them away. it makes her angry, but it works for a while. I dont know if you should do that, the best choice woulde be to give her a book about the dangers or something.
Dont throw them a way...it doesnt work. My dad smokes and hes so hooked we cant stop him he started when he was fourteen. I think you should tie her down to a chair, make a movie of all her friends, or take a pack and say everyone you have thats a year down the drain. Then take one breakit inhalf and say one year then the next two years, etc. til theyare all gone.
ive got an idea but it involves electicity applied to yor friend
I dont think it'll work....
its only a little jot to kinda train your friend
lol thats nice...
hmmm...then try to give her a book or show her a movie about the dangers of smooking. it worked for me, i never wanna smoke after i see some of those vidoes!
im telling you my idea will work!
the patch does work, back when I was 3, my dad quit, and he went on the patch and it worked. Although my Grandma died from lung cancer a few months ago from smoking.
normaly I'd make some evil comment, but I won't (yet)
Give her a book on smoking with lots of pictures about what it does to your insides(Lungs) and teeth.Make her a dentists' appointment and have him tell her about smoking.
