Title: Ganondorf's Apprentice
Post by: Darth Wyndisis on February 23, 2005, 08:03:32 PM
Here is the piece of crap I wrote a couple years ago. ;D  http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/zorasfountain/ff/ff1.html  I'm glad my writing has improved.  Beware of errors, this is unedited, and when I was writing it, I didn't have a clue on earth how to form paragraphs.  In this story, for all you HA people, you will see one of my first usages of the name, "Wyndisis."

Give yourself some credit, it wasn't that bad. Much better than my earlier fan fics!

Not bad at at all.

Must...resist...urge...to...plug...own...fan-fic. (I'm writing one now as it happens. Almost finished the first chapter.)

Argh...must...resist... go to http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2034830/1/.  (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2034830/1/.)

Damn it!

Well Red, you asked for it ^_^. Forgot to reply to this one for a while. But actually, I didn't get a chance to read the whole of "Link Vs Ganondorf" (I hope you understand!) though I did read Origin of Majora's Mask.

And loved it. What an awesome take on Majora's Mask (I noticed you mentioned that it was Manga-inspired; is that the official origin of Majora's mask? If not, it might as well be)! It has a terrific, pervasive, and nostalgic Aesop's Fables sort of feel to it. While at first the slight possible confusion in who's saying what was bothering me, I gradually got used to it, so much that I feel that it gives the story definite character. This quiet duet, neither fazed, both knowing of the other. An almost scripted dance of words. Destiny at its best.

Two thumbs up, Red!

Thanks for the review Wein. Maybe you can review LVG (Link Vs Ganondorf) when you have finished reading it?

Origin of Majora's Mask: I wrote that in an hour for HA, it was one of the many books that could be found in the Libary in HA1. After I read through it (which is something I should really do more often when writing) I understand that at some points the speech does get rather confused, maybe I will edit it to make it easier to understand.

As far as I know there is no official origin for Majora's Mask, but if there had to be this story would be a good candiate.

I have ADD and it is not that bad.  Best thing to do is stick with what interests you and it isn't too much of a problem.  I am a bit like you because I can't read other peoples' fan-fics too well.  I usually read halfway through the first chapter but by then I am daydreaming about elephants.  One problem I have is I am NOT getting enough Adderal prescribed from my doctor, so I before I got out of school this year I wasn't able to work up to my full potential.  If I had actually been able to look at my study material for exams, I could have pulled a perfect score on them for the time I wasted sitting down.  Another problem with ADD is (in my case at least) it makes you feel really stupid sometimes.  My IQ is close to 130, according to tests, but sometimes, I feel like it is below 80.

I am the opposite really. I hate the fanfics that are so stupid that it shows the people have no respect for the game/movie/book/etc. I enjoy the serious ones but unfortuantly where I read my fanfics there are alot of stupid humor ones (i.e. the people from this game meet the people from that game). The one fanfic I wrote (which was about FFVI) was very serious and had drama, love, betrayal and revenge and little humor in it. So that is probably the reason I enjoy the more serious and sometimes dark fanfics.

Well the best stories take a long time to write, anyone can write a bad story in a half hour but a great one takes years. I am not saying my fanfic is great but I have spent 2 years writing it and I am probably only 1/3 done with it. The longer it takes, the better the results usually are.

I am going to push this out front again.  In case any one wants to read it.
