Title: Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 09, 2006, 09:14:20 AM
Wouldn't it be AWESOME? I hope they'll make it!

There could be so many new characters... personally I think Link/Ezlo would be cool... he could shrink and clone and stuff!

that would be cool ;D

Oh, yeah! A portable SSB game... Knowing Nintendo, they probably will make it. :)

That would be something, now I could kick butt in a car. ;D

Wouldn't put it past them.  Nintendo is known for overusing certain franchises.

I suppose you're not really a fan of this idea, Gamefreak?

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that Nintendo tries to make games for everything.

It won't happen. Nintendo has made 3 ssb games for it's 3 big consoles N64, Gamecube, and Wii. See a pattern?

R u saying it wouldn't happen because they're all on a non-handheld platform?

FYI: StarFox - SNES
     StarFox64 - N64
     StarFox Asventures - GCN
     StarFox Assault - GCN

See the pattern? Now watch THIS...

   StarFox Command --- DS!

PWNED! :-*

Anyway, I really like the idea. I'd actually like to see a Super Smash Bros. Retro, mainly focused on old school characters and stages.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Rev Rabies on August 28, 2006, 01:46:16 PM
StarFox has died. the GCN ones stabbed it, shot it, then had fun with the dead body. The DS version MIGHT be good but the DS's screen would be too small to harbor a ssb game. plus, what the duce would the touch screen be for???
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 28, 2006, 01:48:46 PM
I liked Adventures and Assault you silly goose(mod, gamefreak). I don't see why no one liked Assault it was like StarWars Battlefront and Ratchet and Clank! Then Adventures was strangely Zelda-ish. But still cool!

The touch screen could be for like showing kills and dies, or progress in single mode. If you don't like the idea, shut up and go diss smething else.

Yeah...I'm going to have to change that and put up a warning for you, sorry but:

The swear offended me, if i attack your belief i did nothing wrong. i stated my opinion and i stand by it.

I'm sick of it, I've told you to get back on topic.  This could have easily been fixed if you just held your tounge...or fingers.  I'm putting you down for another warning for off topic posting despite a warning.  Now get back on track.

Post by: Rev Rabies on August 28, 2006, 02:09:39 PM
i just don't see how the game could use the full potential of the touch screen or how it could be played easily with a small screen, if nintendo finds that out, sweet, if not that's ok too
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Gamefreak on August 28, 2006, 02:11:48 PM
Thank you for getting this back on track Sephiroth.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 28, 2006, 02:12:45 PM
Many games don't use the touch screen or at least not much. Menu selection is its main purpose. Check out New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, Mario & Luigi 2, am I scaring you cuz I'm listing all Mario stuff?

And how many warnings do you get?
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Gamefreak on August 28, 2006, 02:13:44 PM
Sorry to say it but 3, you'll have to take it up with Jack now.

If you were so angry over my first report, you should have taken it up with me in pm's.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Rev Rabies on August 28, 2006, 02:16:50 PM
he asked me how many I got but i know those games haven't tooken full potential but look at polarium, nintendogs, and many more the games you stated had no way of reaching the potential but the tried(not mario+luigi though) and actually i think star fox ds will be good it seems to have good gameplay.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 28, 2006, 02:17:07 PM
I'm sorry I have a short fuse... and Sephiroth, what do you mean the screens too small? Screen size matters nothing! You can play Gamecube games on a 6 inch screen if you buy the portable GC TV thingy.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Rev Rabies on August 28, 2006, 02:19:55 PM
i play gamecube on a 12-15 incher and ssbm was a little hard for me, exspecially when the camera zooms out to get everyone on the screen, a ssb game for the DS would be hard too make out
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 28, 2006, 02:23:25 PM
So THAT'S what you meant! But the thing is with a DS is your face is inches from the screen. I sit 6-7 feet back from my thirteen incher and it's fine for me.

6 inches from a 3-inch screen... it might be easier!

I think everyoned be about Super Mario sized.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 29, 2006, 07:44:34 AM
the screen would be too small, i think. in SSBM,i had trouble seeing the peoiple on the screen when it zoomed out on my 17 inch screen. So in the Ds....it would be very difficult.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: JDog on August 29, 2006, 08:11:44 AM
That would be awsome! But then we would have thing with the buttons.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 29, 2006, 08:17:57 AM
yeah, that were the touch screen coukld come in though, for menus and stuff, use the touchscreen, and the buttons are soley for moves.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: JDog on August 29, 2006, 08:19:51 AM
You know, that is a very good idea... I hope they do make one in the future for ds, it would be awsome!
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 29, 2006, 09:46:05 AM
yeah...but where would the action be, at the top screen or touch screen? cause i guess you culd use the bottom screen for moves by touching and the top for menus.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Rev Rabies on August 29, 2006, 01:10:20 PM
The touch screen is always for menus. that's why i like polarium, the buttons do diddly squat and you only use the touch screen.

my main concern though is still screen size.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 29, 2006, 01:13:41 PM
I love touch screen only games, like MPH. I'm getting Command and PH later!

If they made it I dont think the touch screen would be for battles.

And Whats polarium?
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 29, 2006, 01:20:54 PM
Its a type of puzzle game, ive never played it.

Sorry to go off topic, but another good game for touch screen is Yoshi Touch and Go. ;D
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS

I heard it was stupid. I like Canvas Curse.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 29, 2006, 01:25:44 PM
Well, it was KINDa stupid, but it was pretty good touch screen wise.

Yoshi is cool butis own games are too juvenile.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS

more convo posting

MPH wasn't touch-screen only
Yoshi's touch n go wasn't that good
Cancas curse is one of the best DS games so far

wats MPH?
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS

I agree with the fact that Canvas Curse, has been one of the most innovative touch screen based games on the DS so far.

i never played it, i guess it was more fun than Touch and Go.

I have the demo version of that game, very in depth with the touch screen, like you said.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: newbkyng on August 30, 2006, 08:45:53 AM
so then sephiroth, you're gonna like phantom hourglass as its entirely stylus controlled and prehaps you'll get over your thought 'starfox is stupid' and get the new one!

And I know MPH isn't entirely touchscreen controlled, but its largely touchscreen controlled.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on August 30, 2006, 08:56:14 AM
yes, the moves and movement itslef is controlled by the touch screen. I wont get StarFox because i dislike it, but i will get PH because i wanna see how Zelda can use the tocuh sceen.

you hate starfox? omg youre weird. I know some people hate assault but still you should like the arwing games.
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS

heres something even weirder: ive never played any metroid prime games either, except for some demos.

i've never said starfox was dumb, i said the GCN titles beat it up and spit on it.

Then dump the body in a ditch...

Well, they're not "that" bad, but they do leave a certain thing to be desired with the series.

StarFox adventures is the worst! It had no flying incorportaed with it.

you could between planets. Adventures was the worst StarFox game, but it kinda felt like a Zelda Game.

I like Command cuz Fox and the skies are reunited and it feels so good!
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: Rev Rabies on September 02, 2006, 04:44:54 AM
Yes but it didn't come close to the fox games past
Title: Re:Super Smash Bros DS
Post by: MasterKeyX on September 02, 2006, 07:39:23 AM
Nothing will come close. Compared to StarFox 64, Command was terrible.
