I heard that Link will be accompanied by a fairy. Let's just hope it's not named Navi or Tatl!
Okay, Navi and Tatl were unfortunately annoying. I won't deny it. But when you look past their annoyances, they are only trying to help you. And Tatl is doing more than helping Link; she's helping her brother, Tael. Instead of looking at the bad, look past it to the good.
The only fairy anyone should really have a problem with is Sprite. My god was she ever a jealous, conniving little fairy XD
I'm unsure if Navi would be around at that time, anyway. I haven't seen clarification of the life span of the fairies, so I can't say for sure that she'd have lived. I'm sure Zelda's fairies don't follow the whole "I only die if you stop believing" rubbish.
It's probably nothing important in the game anyway, much like TP's Wii Fairy.
TP is having fairies in it?
Only the Wii version is going to have a faerie, and it plays no role in the story. It's simply there as a pointer for the Wii-mote.
Although, they actually will most likely be there. After all, every Zelda game has had faeries in it to either heal Link or grant him some new power. So there isn't a doubt in my mind TP will have faeries in it. However, the above paragraph applies to the faerie Blank was refering to.
I doubt it's gonna be one of them. They belong to the past in PH, even if they'd still be alive.
That's a relief, 'cause I'm getting the GameCube version!
what do you have against faeries? and speaking of tp, it could have a role in the story although its just a pointer.
If the faerie had a role other than being a pointer for the Wii-mote, it would be in the Gamecube version also. Seeing as how it's not, the faerie's only role is to be a pointer for the player.
Oh nooooo!!! Well, as long as it isn't annoying.
Fairy? Not annoying? Hahahaha I dont think that will ever happen.
Haha good one!
But yeah the fairy in TP Wii is used for selecting items and using the bow and stuff, so hopefully it wont say anything.
Who needs a fairy to select a stinkin' item. It's not like they can shrink you through portals or anything.
sorry but i have to say navi is in the game beacause i saw a picture of her and link (well there is a fairy in the game and it could be navi)
hey Navi is cool
navi is cool but she can get annoying when you get stuck somewhere in the game she just keeps saying the same thing alover again until you have gotten un stuck
I rarely get stuck, whenever I do, I just go to cheatpatch.com and find out what to do.
i try not to use walkthroughs but if i get annoyed i'll go look on the internet and print a walkthrough
Me also.
Quote...It's not like they can shrink you through portals or anything.
They might be able to do that. The Faerie Spell in TAoL did something like that.
Quotesorry but i have to say navi is in the game beacause i saw a picture of her and link (well there is a fairy in the game and it could be navi)
Just because it looks like Navi doesn't mean it is Navi. One of my aunts told me that she saw someone who looks like me once, but obviously that kid wasn't me. Mostly because I live two states away.
And how could Navi be in PH, when PH is the sequel to WW and the real Navi was in OoT, which was hundreds of years before WW and PH. Of course, fairies could have long lives. :-\
Right. We don't know how long faeries live for. It's entirely plausible that the faeries in PH is Navi.
it could be a new fairy (well it probly is)
I hope it is. On the other hand, it might be interesting to see a "sidekick" return.
About fairy lifespans, I can't be certain, but I've always thought the fairies that wake you in the beginning of FS were the same Great Fairies that help you in TMC. The colours match and it would connect them to the story of the Four Sword and Vaati. It would explain their appearance.
Yeah, even though she's annoying, it would be nice to see her in another game.
1.It would be nice to see her on another game
2.She could be more annoying if she turns up again
3.She could be more quiter if she comes again
4.It does'nt matter about any of those things it would just be nice to see her again. ;D
If it is Navi would she be drawn to Link because he is the new hero?
If its not Navi, why would it care I thought fairys were only for Kokiri Forest kids... unless Outset is Kokiri Forest. A Korok could have planted a Deku Tree in Frest Haven right after the Flood.
your right with fairys only going to Kokiri forest kids .Navi only went to link to help him on his journey saving hyrule and since link is not a kokiri forest kid she probly would have gone back to kokiri forest while link set out on his horse and he ends up trying to save clocktown and the over places with a different fairy so navi is probly back home having fun while link is risking of his neck to save a world .
Who said faeries can only go to Kokiris? Just because every Kokiri has one and no other race does doesn't mean faeries don't care about the other races. And I'd imagine faeries would care very much about Hyrule also.
well have you seen fairys with over people execpt from the skull kid (im not saying that sentence in and angry voice)
Not in the game, but that doesn't strike out the possiblity the faeries will visit other races.
I can't imagine the Fairies to be shallow like that.
Navi: Link, you know I like you. You're a nice kid and we've been together for years. We saved the world together. But we can't stay together.
Link: But Navi, why not?
Navi: You are not a Kokiri.
Link: :o What the...?
I assume fairies often help non-Kokiri too.
navi only helped link because the deku tree sent her
I think Link's and Navi's relation is a lot deeper than a dead tree's wish.
well yes but before that they did'nt know each over but that does'nt matter .Navi should not of left link because she could'ov told those two fairs to go away

Yeah, excactly. (not including OoT Link of course :P)
Skull Kids are kids that got lost in the forest, right? Cause I'm thinking how could he have a fairy unless he was once a Kokiri?
I suppose there could be some other species never heard of that have fairys, but I seriously doubt it.
And LadyNintendo, their relationship got deeper
because of a dead tree's wish. If it did. Navi even left Link alone to fight Ganon.

We don't know Navi's reason for leaving Link. But I don't really think it was because Link wasn't a Kokiri.
And newbkyng, Navi had no choice but to leave Link when he was fighting Ganondorf. Ganondorf sort of sent waves of dark energy at Link and Navi, and that sort of drove off Navi. And once you had hit the 'Dorf with a Light Arrow, she came down to help Link. And she was there when Link was fighting Ganon.
Navi and Link indeed met because of the Deku Tree, but that doesn't mean they stayed together only because of him. They got along very well. If their relation got deeper because of the Deku Tree, it's not because of his final wish/command, but because it's another tragic event they went through together.
My guess is that she left Link because she knew that she would mess up time if she didn't leave.
I haven't thought of that. Mind if I borrow that idea for my fanfic? Full credit given, of course.
What idea exactly? :-\

That one.
Feel free to use it, though don't give me credit. I came up with it myself, but I'm not the only one who did.
I've been thinking of doing a fanfic, but I can't think of anything. Anyway, back on topic, how many people believe it's Navi Link's looking for in the beginning of MM?
I wouldn't even know who else he could've been looking for. Good friend, left after the adventure, it's not Zelda and there's no reason to assume it's Saria. Navi pretty much is the only one left.
And if you want ideas for a fanfic, try to think of everything in one of the games that didn't get a lot or enough attention. Or something you know must've happened, but wasn't shown in any game. Or try to find some beta info and base a story on that. Just some random ideas I came up with just now:
- A story about what happened to the Sages, or one of them after Ganondorf had been defeated. Most of them are leaders, and Hyrule still needs to be rebuild.
- A story about the Sages that must've been in the game, but were not shown. Those would be the Wind Sage, the Earth Sage and possibly an Ice Sage (there was supposed to be an Ice Sage in OOT at first). If Link didn't help them reach the Temples, how did they get there?
- Whether Link ever found Navi or not and what happened to him after MM.
- A story about a certain character or group of people that you for some reason might find interesting. Like how Maggie and Moe exactly met and became lovers. OOT Malon possibly had a Gerudo mother, that's something you could write about. Was Koholint real once? A story about the Keatons (strange race) or River Zora.
- Any event that has been mentioned, but isn't shown. The destruction of Ikana Kingdom. The construction of the Temples. What exactly happened during the times of the flood (lots of people must've died then. Did they know what was coming?). You could write the story of Oracle Of Secrets (wikipedia has a bit of info about that game. Supposedly, its main theme should be colour).
Good luck. :)
Well, there could be that possiblilty he was looking for Skull Kid. Being how at the end of the game he says, "You have the same smeel as the fairy boy who taught me that song in the woods."
Yeah, but they don't seem to be the kind of friends as Link and X described in MM.
Good point. Oh! Why must Nintendo do this to us!?! :'(
why why oh why :'(
Well anyway, my spidey senses tell me that it's not going to be named Navi.
well not to be mean in saying his but navi is probly dead by then :(
I wouldn't be surpirsed if Link finally snapped and killed Navi.
i don't see link as a friend killer because if he was i won't be here right know .(kidding)
Hehe! That's funny! :D
i saw a vid and the fairy sounds lyk navie and tatl put 2gether
cool :)
Quotewell not to be mean in saying his but navi is probly dead by then
Navi is a faerie. Unless she was killed in the Great Flood that's highly unlikely.
Why couldn't she be dead? How do you know how old tloz faires can become? Or how old Navi was for that matter?
She might have been crushed like a butterfly.
or squshed like a bug
Lol! That's funny! :D
i know ;D
It would be cool to have Navi. The ultimate cameo!
Although it may not really be a cameo...
To be a cameo, Navi would sort of need to be in a game that isn't a Zelda game.
Like... Halo! *Boom boom bang* GOOD BYE NAVI! Lol.
Navi: Hey! Listen! (Gets blown up) ;D
Lol, that'd be funny. ;D
that would be a shock just to see a fairy get blown up right in front of your face

well, yeah. although it would be a little bit if she started with old OoT war stories.
It probably would be possible to have Navi in PH because, I have no idea how long fairies live to be, but they seem like they'd live a long time.
Most likely forever. At least, faeries are supposd to be immortal.
Or if what they said in Peter Pan is true, a fairy dies when someone say, "I don't believe in fairies."
Now, if that were true, it would only have been too easy for Ganon to wipe out all the fairies, which I'm sure him and many others would love to do.
So much for "Sticks and stones may breal my bones and words will never hurt me." ::) ;D Yeah right, not for fairies they don't!
Navi killed by Daedra in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
navi killed by the mayor on one of the best cameos there has ever been on powerpuff girls.
What is going to be the fairy's name, anyhow?
I'm going to spell this loud and clear:
This is just a courser for the game, not a fairy you communicate with. You can still name it, though. If I can get a DS and PH, I'll name mine Willy.
it looks like I will be getting a DS actually, if I sell all my GBA equipment and such.
Oh, and by name, I mean just call it that, you can't name it in the game.
IYou've made yourself perfectly clear, but, it seems kind of strange to give charcters in the game that "don't really matter" a name and to not give Link's fairy a name. I know WW is different, but there's those characters that barely play any role in Link's quest and they get names.

Most of the people in Kansas don't really impact my life in any way, so they're not allowed to have names?
And nobody in Mongolia influences my life, so they shouldn't have a name?
Also, TWW was made, in my opinion, to give each character some role, big or small.

No, I mean that being that the fairy is going to be one of the main characters, if they're going to mention him/her, it would sound kind of weird to just say "the fairy" instead of stating them by their name.
Nintendo has stated it's only a controller feature, NOT a character. At least I think they did, from what a member I forgot said.
I need to remember this stuff more often. :-*
You should. I'm fairly certain she's a character, as she must aid Link in finding the Phantom Hourglass.
Also-

This picture shows that boomerang feature you can do with the stylus. If she's the stylus pointer, why is she over with Link?
I think you may have gotten it confused with the pointer of TP.
There wasn't one in TP. Unless the Wii had one. I used the Gamecube.
Yes, the pointer for the Wiimote was a fairy.
Yeah, I was wondering what that thing was, I now know that it is a fairy.
Then that proves it, that only thing that the fairy is for is a pointer.

Oh no, I hate Navi.
Actually, it's not Navi; it's a new faerie by the name of Shiera. They'll probably change her name for the English translation, but... XD
I was looking forward to Navi's return, though. I'm one of the few that like her. XD
Violinist likes her.But I don't.
I just think Navi and Tatl (mainly Tatl) can be annoying. But it's for that reason I like them. They both kind of remind me of my cousin.
If Navi appears n it,I just wasted 4800 yen.
(40dollars).I will get when it comes out.I already ordered it.
June 23rd !Yay!Yay!YAy!
I really doubt that Navi would kill an entire game. You'll have to tell us about it when you get it and we're still waiting...
If I knew how to read Japanese, I'd buy the Japanese game and just have it shipped over here. There's not a region blocker on the DS, I don't think.
No i dont think navi is in this game, the fairy's name is
Shiera i think.Unless if that was NAvi all the time ;)||'|
OMG, I just saw a video on youtube, the new fairy sounds exactly like Navi... :(
Oh, brother! :-* :D Does anyone here know when it's coming out for the United States? Oh wait, here it is...
Japan - June 23, 2007
North America - October 1, 2007
Europe - Holiday Season of 2007
Australia - Holiday Season of 2007
Yay! I'm marking 10/1/07 on my calendar! :D
Oh yeah, the fairy's name is Sierra.
Also, Ganon is definately not in it according to what I've read:
"Ganondorf does not return in Phantom Hourglass. However, before his defeat in The Wind Waker, his evil influence spread across the Great Sea. The King of Red Lions doesn't return in Phantom Hourglass, either."
So Ganon's out of the picture for sure.
