Who doesn't hate AoL? I loved the game, but might be because I like stuff with some sense of darkness, and adventures of Link had quite a bit for it's time. I also didn't think it was really that hard, LoZ was harder, I didn't even die that often once I really figured out how to play the game. The one thing that IS hard is the great palace, but I was really happy when I finally beat it.
I love AoL, but only for the RPG feel and the openness of the world. Took me years to beat however (I first took a crack at it at the tender age of 8... in '92!... and then again a few years ago).
TAoL is good, but it's not my first choice as a Zelda game. As for the Oracle games, they are my favorite handheld Zelda games.
I Know, The oracles are my favorite handhelds as well. Even more so than Link's Awakening and Minish Cap, actually I thought Minish Cap wasn't as fun as either of the Oracles. The Oracles just had so many awesome dungeons, I esp. Love the later ones in Ages and Seasons.
Admin note: I should have noticed this earlier, but this belongs in the General Zelda forum. I'll be moving it now. ::)
Sorry, I haven't played that one yet, but I would like to, TOOOO EBAY! It sounds like a good Zelda game though, so I must get it soon.
I haven't played the oracle games yet. But I really want to play them sometime soon.
And AOL is awesome. I have played it on my NES over and over, but I have to admit, never till the end. The last dungeon was just a bit too hard for me last time I tried a few years ago. But after I've beaten my current OOT save file, I'm gonna retry the oldest two tloz games. I'm still looking forward to the day they'll bring some of Link's moves from AOL back in the 3d games.
AoL was ok, definently not my favorite. I have had it for 3 years and i still cant beat it!
And the Oracles were ok, i liked Ages much more though.
It's not that they're "bad" they're just not as good as the rest.
uuh, that's your opinion. Games may be "technical" better than others. But eventually, it's the entire thing that should be compared. And then it's up to each individual to say which ones are better. For instance, OOT didn't even make it to my personal 3 favs, meaning I think it's inferior to them. But that's just my opinion. As is them being "not as good" is your opinion.
i judge games by gameplay and story, not by graphics. And quite frankyl, these 3 listed werent as good as some of the others.
ehm, are you agreeing it's a matter of opinion, or not? Because if it's just your opinion those three are inferior, then I don't have to defend on of my favs. :D
im saying these 3 you said were great, i didnt like as much.
Okay, that's cool. As long as it's just an opinion. :)
BTW. I never said those 3 are my favs. Sure, TAOL is one, but I've never played the OO-games. I'm just defending them, knowing there are people who prefer those above others. I was speaking about other games when I mentioned my 3 favs.
Aol is a fairly decent game.
I like AoL; good music. :D
I wish that the game actually told you something puzzle-wise, though. :'(
I personally think that they are both fantastic games, and I have enjoyed playing each of them. :)
Fantastic music, fantastic official art, and fantastic gameplay. I love it.
