In mario hoops you can play as FFVII caraters not cloud and the cool guys but black mage ,white mage,Moogle,and Catuar IF you dont belive me go to the official website and go click the arrow and put the mouse over the charater and it will say ther name :o :o :o :o :o

Now you sound like the people who call OoT Zelda 1. It always makes me depressed. :'( Some of those characters, like Black Mage, originated in the first FF on the NES.

They're not FF VII characters. Those are like characters from FF 1. I don't know which game moogles originated in.

Moogles originated in the japanese FF III. They were the guards of Doga, a powerful wizard that became an ally. Their next appearance was in FF V as story necessary characters. One of the main characters is able to talk to moogles, and eventually you have to go through a forest of moogles.
But their most famous appearance was in FF VI. There, we had the AWESOME mog. He was a really awesome character, personality wise. His special moves were centered around dances and the terrain. He was one bada$$ character, a street talking, jive walkng MOOGLE!
