Why does she pop up and tell us what to do when we already know what to do?
Design flaw in the game. Navi's purpose was to help the gamer, but Nintendo appeared to have overlook the fact that people would play OoT again, making Navi unnecessary. What Nintendo should've done was added a feature to sort of turn Navi off. She would still hang around you, but she would only participate in the cinematic sequences and help you Z-target.
Well, maybe you know what to do, but Link doesn't. ;D And Navi's purpose is to help Link. And even though I agree with HnS, it still would be weird if you could turn off your fairy. I think Navi's undeniable presence sort of made you like her. She's always with you, and annoying as she was, that did create a bond.
I can't believe I actually started to kind of miss her when she was leaving at the end of OoT. ;D

It's not so much that she would be gone. She just wouldn't repeat everything, unless you wanted her to.
i never liked navi because most of the time she says the wrong things. i was once an adult with gameshark codes and she said that i haven't seen the deku tree yet :o
That's actually pretty funny. ;D
once i read a glitch about how to freeze navi in the temple of time but when you left the temple she unfroze (thats so unfair) :'(
Well, I don't dislike Navi; I'm probably one of the fair few who don't and are proud of it!
I guess it kind of helps that OoT was the first Zelda game I ever played, but even so, I still don't dislike Navi; she kind of set off the transition that led into Majora's Mask.
Hmm... The thing i dont like, is when you play OoT: MQ, she still say those, beginner things, when MQ is for experienced Zelda gamer. But still... I do like her. I think she is kinda cute... :-[ (Did i just say that?) *Hero Link, vanishes.*
My cousin REALLY hates Navi. I don't even loath her that much. I just think it's annoying how she says the same thing over and over again like a fricken' broken record!

Yeah, that happens when you cheat with on an emulator as well :P
On some video on Google video, someone had a Gameshark and they were making Navi say weird things that didn't even make sence. Like 5T0&zs#@
ehhhhh :-X wat is that supposed to mean .Once i saw a video on youtube it was about navi and when she says her normal lines at the start they added bad words to it and it was funny ;D
I think the reason why they made Navi say the thing over and ove again is so you wouldn't forget what you're doing when you go back to playing the game after you stop. And so it'll get stuck in your head.
oh :D
Isn't Navi's purpous to give you hints about enemies and bosses? Nintendo probably tried to turn Navi into a helper, but instead created a character that annoyed gamers. Some people do need hints, tips and a flying fairy screaming in they're ear to help them complete the game.
Lol screaming in your ear that's funny. :D
she screams in your ear and in your face .When she screams in your face you smell her bad breath(joking)
lol. Good one. ;D
Yeah. :D
thanx ;D
Check this out! http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=42 :D
Saw it before.
There's also a shirt that says "Hey! Listen!" and has a picture of Navi on it. ;D
ha ha ha i would never where it because i'll probly keep hering a voice saying (hey listen)
Yeah, no one would ever wear it!
I would wear it. I would find someone with a digital camera and have them take my picture, and then I would have them upload it into my computer. Then I would use it as a wallpaper and post it where ever I could.
I would wear it too. As long as it has to do with Zelda, I'd wear it! I already seven Zelda-related T-shirts
I have no Zelda things except games. :-*
Well, I say whether it's Navi, Tatl, or Ezlo, pretty much all of Link's sidekicks are annoying. :D
Navi is quite annoying. I wish she didn't put her in there. And yes all of his sidekicks are annoying.
Well, I don't think I'd not want her to be in there, just not to annoy me while I'm doing something I need to concentrate on.
Well, I seem to have gotten used to her.
One time I was running across Hyrule and she just pops up and yells "Listen!" It made me just out of my skin! :o
I think they did a good job with Tatl in Majoras mask. She still gives you incredibly obveous clues, but at least now she only says it once. Now we won't have a repeat of me trying to put a ice arrow through my fairy. ;D
How come everyone thinks Navy is so damn annoying?
I never ever thought of her that way.. Before i heard of this site, and i still don't.
what I couldn't give to have your level of tolerance...but I can't stand you liking Navi!!!lol
haha :D funny funny :) drink Urge it's healthy!
yes it was. What's Urge? Sounds sick...
Ah, Navi. Helpful the first time, bothering the second. And the rest of the infinite times we play the game. But she is nice to have, telling you about enemies and stuff! :)
Navi's one of my favourite characters in OoT. xD; Please don't hurt me.
She's annoying sometimes, I guess. I get more annoyed that her icon flashes. I... have issues with flashing things. Like my MSN messenger right now. It's flashing, and it bothers me. D:
But yeah.
I prefer her over Tatl gamewise because she actually tells you there's Wallmasters. It's very helpful. Especially in the Wells. (That's when I noticed Tatl doesn't say "Beware the monsters that hang from the ceiling.")
Don't worry, Fishalicious. If they want to hurt you, they have to get through me first. I'll show them what annoying really means. (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l267/Hi-n0_Selj1n/Emoticons/twisted.gif)
whahaha, if you were an admin, that'd be a real threat lol.
I stand with you Hi No! ;D
Ya good one Hi No. Whats wierd about Tatl is that she is actully mean to you. Everytime you ask for info on an enemy she treats you like an idiot ;D.

That's why I love Tatl more. xD I just don't like that she doesn't tell you about the Wallmasters. D:
And that's frikkin Dangerous! :o
Tatl is cute though! Wahaha.
they were probably expecting you to remember them from OoT, even though a lot of people played MM first for some reason.
I actually heard that they made Tatl's information useless because everyone was complaining about Navi all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.
they were probably trying to give Tatl more character, Navi was basically an encyclopedia-on-tape that kept skipping and playing over and over and over...
Good anology. While Navi is an encyclpedia tape that always plays, Talt is a tape of someone virtually useless that only plays occasionally. ;D
In Halo terms (don't ask me why I'm putting it in Halo terms) Talt is like Cortona while Navi is more like 343 Guilty Spark
yes, that makes really good sense. I hate the library dude on there...I wish you could destroy him...
DAMN HIS IMMORTALITY!
Good to see other Halo fans here as well! I love the games, and I'll play 'em till I've killed the damned monitors!
Ya but I can't get Halo3 because I don't have a 360 :(.
I can help you with that: Get one! Follow my wise words and thou shalt prevail!
I bought Crackdown with the Halo 3 Beta on it, CANT WAIT TILL THE BETA OPENS! ;D
And now the beta has closed :( It was freakin' good:D
Navi is still not annoying!:D HURT MEE!!
Im confused! When I played Oot Navi never just popped up saying stuff. She was like Tatl, I hade to press a button to let her speak. So I never found her annoying.
People exaggerate on how annoying she is. She does pop up in the first dungeon telling you how to open a door, though.
Personally, I still like her.
Yeah, I like her too. Tatl seems to be a little too...rude. Like when Kafei askes you to step on the switch so he can get the Sun Mask. She says
"Are you telling us what to do?!" and then,
"I dont like him but we have no choice."
I dont think she even likes link. I think she just see's him as a way to get back to her brother and away from Skullkid.
She does like Link, just watch the ending.

She says "Thank you" as he walks away, thats about it. Otherwise she is mainly saying things like "We have a carnival to attend, now go back home".

:o
The reason she was put in there with those hints is because American kids were too stupid to figure things out on their own.
I loath her because I did the Spirit temple before I was able to beat Bongo Bongo, and she never shut up about how I should play the song Sheik taught me!
Meh, I don't think that. She was probably put in there because ANY kid needed help. But she doesn't give much information beyond "Hey, listen!"
navi is annoying
it is very true
she is so yellow
she will never be blue
she talks
she talks
she talks
she talks day time
she talks night time
she is just a little
ANNOYING FAIRY
It was better than having no clues though.
And she wasn't yellow. 8)
You mean yellow like Tatl?
Well, you've got a point there, at least she had slightly helpful advice. But most of the time she just pointed out the obvious. "We should play the song you got!" (Captain Obvious!) :) Reminds me of a Legend of Link YouTube video where Kaepora Gaebora keeps talking about obvious stuff and is forcing Link to stay and listen. :D
She pointed out the fact to me that there were movable blocks in the Gerudo's Training Ground for me, but other that that, she's as useful as a talking door! ;D
