I have wondered, wouldn't you say OOT is incorrectly rated in some respects?
Of course I'm glad it wasn't T because I was a wee lad when I first played it. For the first thing there is blood in the game, soemtimes you attack a living monster and flecks of stuff fly around, it may not llok it but you KNOW its blood. Also when you defeat Ganondorf he coughs up blood, and when you defeat ganon you slash him in the head twice in the cutscene and blood splashes out, not to mention the stab in the nose. Second the sheer freakiness of it, the ReDeads and Gibdos aren't cartoony zombies like in some games, these look like people and sound like people screaming. Not to mention the nasty way they attack you. Two points may not seem like much but I have seen games rated T for much less.
It wasn't violent enough to be a 'T' game, but it had a storyline and themes I can't picture a 4-year-old comprehending. But there were freaky bosses. Yeah. And look at Metroid Prime, there's like NO VIOLENCE although I suppose its freaky.
But games are often labeled T for nothing. Smash Bros Melee, T? OMG!
But now I guess it's 'reallistic enough' to be considered violent.
I think just as long as the blood isn't red, it can be rated E. The blood was just blue and green I think. But I also thought that when you deliver the final blow on Ganon, the blood is red. I think.
Yeah the blood is red, and not in the little spots actually in spurts. Also when you defeat gohma juice spews out of her eye. Also what do you mean metroid prime isn't violent? The entire game is about killing.
Who cares about those labels? Only a few hypocrite idiots. You have to be a complete idiot to let the colour of blood decide what rating it should get. In Germany, some games are not allowed to be sold until the developers make the blood green or something. Anything but red. Does that change the fact you kill and/or mutilate living beings? Just like extremely violent games can be allowed depending on who you kill. Cops killing "criminals" is okay, but the other way around always causes a bit of trouble. Fact is, they (depending on the game and situation) attack first. It's only selfdefence.
I think a game should be rated for it atmosphere and message. And therefor, I think it got the rating it deserved.
I guess by making the blood blue or green or whatever makes it less gross for the player.

Precisely. We should work for the ESRB board people watchamacallit.
And Vaati, blood is blood, no matter what color it is. The fact still remains that it should be inside the body, not out of it. That's most likely what grosses people out about it. Our blood isn't even really red; it only looks red because of the presence of oxygen.
That's what I said to my nephew, but he believes blood is blue. ::) ;D

Less gross? If you saw someone bleeding green would you say " oh well that's not so bad". I would be more like "man what on God's green Earth did you eat?"
Spinach! I always knew that stuff was evil. And you are what you eat, that's what I always say. :D
My cuz says Ganon coughs up his guts. Frankly, I forgot the OoT ending.
Nah, he just coughs up blood. Either way, it's still gross. :P
