The following is a quote from the list of rules Jack has posted in the News and Announcements board of the forums.
Quote8. Proper grammar and spelling please. The occasional number-as-letter substitute is fine, but if that's all you post with, you make it exceptionally hard for others to read your posts. This is more common courtesy than anything.
Really, please do make an effort to use proper spelling and grammar. I am tired of coming on and finding sentences like "its a good thing i ate b4 goin to that rehaersal" I understand that there will be occasional mistakes, but this is getting ridiculous. If you're not sure about a sentence, type it up in Microsoft Word and use the spell check. It even checks the grammar. It won't hurt you to take that extra amount of time to check on something you're not sure about.

the sad thing is, I understood what you just wrote... :-*
Thank you for helping drive the point home, Kakashi. :-*
I aim to please.
Uhh, yeah, Kakashi is right. In the Chatboard, we're allowed to do that in most cases. Some people have trouble typing, and others don't know exactly how to spell certain words. Plus, some people have really slow computers, and it will take more time for them to do that.
Haha I used to talk in that way all the time. "Txt tlk" we called it, because it started with our mobiles. But, I don't anymore, except if its for a joke.
I once had an entire conversation with my friend in 1337 SP34K!! Fuun.
If it takes time to type up a post, it takes time to type up a post. As for people not knowing how to spell certain words, there's something called a spell check; Microsoft Word has it, as do a few forums. And let's not forget the dictionary. If I don't know the exact spelling of a word, I will look it up in my dictionary.

8) me too, were so used to it, sad isn't. T00 b8d
I spell things wrong because I can't spell ;)
AHHHHH! I actualy understood what Kakashi said, scary... ;D
You know, sometimes it's not the spelling. SOmetimes it's the HORRIBLE GRAMMAR. I mean, I don't go over every little detail, but some people will go like they can barely speak english, and will say things like with what problems Phantasy Star had... It's really annoying sometimes... To the point where there's no coherency in what they're saying.
which is why you should try your hardest to type well. It doesnt take long to look over your post for errors.

Yeah, there's a thing called a dictionary. Not only does it define words, but it has the proper spellings. What I do is I look up what I think the spelling is, and if I don't find it, I try different variations of how it might be spelled. If I still can't find it, then I'll get on Microsoft Word and type in what I want to check. It may take a little bit longer, but at least people will understand you with ease.
Well, if you make a simple mistake like typing bwcause (w is next to e) instead of because, it is forgiveable.
And I understand that. But if you're constantly misspelling every word you type, then there's a problem. All I'm asking is that you all take the time to check over your posts and make sure you did your best on spelling and grammar so everyone else can understand what you're saying. Is common courtesy too much to ask for?
Well, yeah, a typing error is one thing if there's maybe one or two in a post. But when there's multiple mistakes in a post. It's a little annoying.
Still, I stand for what I said.
No offense, but are you listening? We're saying it's okay if you make an occasional mistake, but there's a problem if you're constantly writing something like this: i lik 2 paly zlda ganes do u
Haha I have to laugh when my friends spell "like": "lyk" or "lik" . It looks like "lick". Pour example. " I rly lyk tht guy" and I'm like "please don't lick him"...
;Dthats pretty funny. But we all get the point. from now on, try harder to make your posts more readable.
