It has become clear that I am unable to continue working at HA2, and therefore, in order to be fair to those who wish to play that great game, I am proposing the following:
I need help. Inasmuch as it is impossible for me to manage my limited time to the benefit of TDC and HA2, I have decided that HA2 needs a new "webmaster".
As such, I am looking for someone who is well versed in HTML, very basic PHP (easily learnable manipulation of a few scripts), forum management, image maps, and basic image programs.
If you would like the job, immediately reply and we'll discuss. Your job would be to take over the webmastering aspects of HA2, guiding it to your vision, do the expansions, new rules, etc. In order to aid the transition, I'll give you FTP powers over HA2 and instruction on how to run the back end of its processes.
It's a hell of a lot of work, but I am sure it would be very rewarding for a dedicated player.
Please reply if interested, the future of HA2 depends on finding a replacement.
School starts Tuesday for me. I will have to see if I will have time for this job and perhaps a job I plan to apply for over at a resturant. I am interested if I think I can manage it. If no one else can do it, I will. There is stuff I will need to learn as I don't know PHP and I will need to brush up on HTML.
You really won't even need to know PHP, just how to manipulate the php script I have for the locations of HA2.
Okay, since it seems to be easily learnable I think I could handle it.
I too could do it. I have been playing around with some stuff in notepad and managed to make a good recreation of the Main Page of HA2(I can send you it, but I don't know how well it'll handle different browsers as I've only had mine available).
Maybe shadow and I could work together...
It would probably be ideal if you both take the helm, that way there can be room for absences/vacations/etc.
Anyways, I'll email you both in the next few days with a ZIP doc featuring a few .html templates for the locations, the location.php file, directions on where to find the program used for the various location files. Also, both of you will be granted administrator status.
Look for that email before Friday.
Is it me, or did every PHP based page on the website go down just a second ago? Not that I'm blaming anyone, just saying...
Must've been a momentary hiccup. Everything seems to be fine.
Ok. Just wanted to make sure. I for one don't know anything about PHP, so I was confused.
