Ahhh.
Remember the good old days when disney cartoon were so much fun .
My fav disney movie has the hunchback of notre dame. But now adays almost all disney movies and shows suck. They cram them with half hearted sterotypes.
Why is it that the step parents are always evil demons from hell? And the girl in the movie is usually portrayed as the annoying, ditzy boy crazy shopoholic.
Just like every other market company out there Disney pleases the crowd, even if they have to crush a few souls on the way...
A lot of things are becoming nothing but businesses these days. It seems that Disney no longer cares about entertainment. Today's world is a money driven one.

I agree, I can't watch it without throwing up ???
what ever happened to the good old days of Tim Burton's masterpiece a nightmare before christmas i mean come on!
Adding to Dr. Rabies' thought, i agree. Disney hasnt made a true classic in years. Movies like the Lion King aren't made anymore. Seriosuly, when was the last time you saw a recent Disney film on par with the Lion King?
when they mad NBC 3d
I'm not a Disneyfan. I dislike the company VERY much, even though I love some of their stuff. Ofcourse I like The Lion King and Who Framed Roger Rabbit and I just adore a lot of their series (Darkwing Duck, Gummy Bears). I dislike them for their position in today's entertainment industry. How come people "love" Silly Symphonies when it's racist (Pokemon's Jynx did not survive it), sexist and just downright unfair? What kind of stupidity and arrogance does one have to possess to claim nobody wants 2d anymore and that 3d is what nowadays cartoons should be? And if they got the rights to distribute Ghibli's master pieces, I expect them to have a certain respect for it. But apparently, Disney is allergic to silence. Because chances are 90% that when a Ghibli movie has a no-speaking moment (meant to let you enjoy the beautiful visuals), Disney throws in a sentence in the dub. It's very funny to choose the original Japanese language with the English subs; it just doesn't match.
Noone who's named Disney has something to do anymore with the company. The company has lost its soul a long time ago, allthough I can't say when exactly.
I don't really watch the Disney Channel, so a part of my opinion is neutral in this case.
As for the movies, I agree that Disney has indeed put out way too many sequels than it needs to. I mean, it's not like they can't use their ideas for sequels and recreate them into a totally new story or something. They would probably get more money that way if that's what they're worried about.
It should be noted that Brother Bear (which in retrospect, I didn't think it was really a bad movie) was considered a failure by Disney, but what do they do? They come up with a sequel for it, and if the Rule of Sequels applys here, it wouldn't fare as well as the original. Not a smart move, is it?
Still, I do think that Disney has come out with very good movies quite recently, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. I think that franchise is an important asset to the company.
I think, though, that one of the few things that can come out of the numerous sequels that Disney comes out with is more worlds in the Kingdom Hearts series. :D
The only decent animated new disney movie I can think of is" cars."
In my opinion disneys Non-animated movies generally tend to be better.
I dislike most of their new cartoons for kids.
Watching most new cartoon makes me wanna hurl.
their new cartoons are so terrible, i wanna lay down and die sometimes.
I think the "good ol days" were the days that Walter Disney was alive and kicking. I think he truly cared about entertainment. After he died, it seemed to go downhill. :( May he rest in peace...
I heard they have his body frozen somewhere so that they can return him to life someday. Dont quote me on that. I think it's creepy and wrong to mess with the dead.
Do you mean, "not quote and just drop it"? If so, I guess that's fine.
Hopefully Square Enix will put those sequels to good use someday. I would really love that. :D
I wonder if he was frozen.....
.........Good Disney movies in the past 10 years:
....................
Good Disney movies during the early 90's.
Lion King
Aladdin
Maybe some others.
The new cartoons are abysmal and horrrid , I want to vomit.
The worst of the lot is those cheesy highschool shows when a superhero kid has to keep his powers a secret while balancing school. *yawn* Do you know how many shows have that exact same plot.?
Yep, nothing more cliche than that.
I think it' because they just are so stupid and so confident in themselves ever since PIXAR and disney became one after they got mad at each other. Plus, even some of the animated series of movies, like Lilo&Stitch really, really sucked, and in my mind they literally killed the whole movie! I also have something to say about Lion king 2, but I would be banned if I said it.
The Lion King 2 didnt even compare to the Lion King. The Lion King 2, in my opinion, was shallow and a terrible movie. It wasnt Disney magic, for sure.
All the sequels for their classics have been junk.
Yeah, that's usually how it goes...sequals, most of the time, are the worst. I don't like how all the new disney movies are 3-D. What happened to good 'ol animated 2-dimentional? :-*
Once again, two minds think alike. Why can't people be more creative nowadays?

so true. That's why I stop watching disney channel. *cough* Lizzy Mcguire, Life with Deark *cough*
And it seems like in every Disney movie, when someone good dies, it's always raining. (Sneezes) Beauty and the Beast. (Coughs) Tarzan.
In the Lion King, when Mufasa was killed, it wasn't raining. ;)
Yeah, but I don't think it ever rains in that part of Africa.
It does, just not too often. However, you did say "every Disney movie," which means every one of those. ;)
They aslo tend to make cartoons about the "princess fairytales" alot.
If they make a movie about The legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, or anything like that, than the appocalypse must really want to make it's event known.
And what would you call it if Uwe Boll did movies based on those games? An uber-apocalypse? ;D
Anyways, "princess fairytale stuff" unfortunately sells well. Little girls love that kind of stuff. Not that I dislike it, oh no. Fairytales are awesome, it's just how you present them. And Disney tends to be very bad at that.
My cousin REALLY likes princess stuff: Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid...etc. but surpirisingly hates Princess Zelda.
You should read her the "real" versions. Disney always deletes parts of the story that they consider to be too cruel, sad or something. But those parts often make the story better, or at least less cheesy. Especially The Little Mermaid. But Cinderella also has some nice parts Disney skipped. Did you know C's stepsisters cut off parts of their own feet so they would be able to squeesh them into that shoe?
Yeah, like Anastasia, even though it wasn't a Disney movie, it was 20th Centurty Fox, the real story went: Anastasia wasn't really the grand dutchess or whatever. Or on Pocahauntas, it turned out John Smith didn't really like her that much, and they also make her look much older than she really, I heard she was about 12.
Yeah, talk about "historical accuracy." :-*

Disney definitely didn't go along with the Grimm Brothers on Cinderella.
The age-thing is the ONLY thing I'm prepared to forgive. The world has changed and a lot of characters of a lot of stories would've probably been a lot younger than whatever they are in the story. Yeah, Pocahontas was a lot younger than Disney tries to make you believe, but no way Snow White, the characters from Hercules, Sleeping Beauty have realistic ages. But I think it might be wise to make a little more adult these days.
if you ever read an actual fairy tale, sometimes they're really cruel and gruesome. But they are wonderful stories, such as Hansel ans Gretel...good story.
Or Snow White. I reas the REAL version and that guard who has to kill her kills a passing animal instead.
Well, that's quite close to the movie version; the guard kills a pig for its heart instead of Snow White's.

Well, he's just weird.
Actually my cousin's a she, but yeah, she is kinda weird. When she couldn't think of a mean name to call me when she was mad at me one time, she just called me a "mean frog" ;D
Mean frog? I didn't know you croaked! Lol.
Whenever she gets REALLY mad, she just says the first thing that pops into her head.
My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. :D
What about Toy Story? It may have been more recent, but it rocked.
Yeah, that too.
Sigh* i remeber back in the day when disney made a story that was truly for all ages, a story that would truly make you smile, a song that would lighten your heart, but now adays they make it so pansyish(I blame the Heavy catholic parents for this) i have to fastforward through about 99% of there songs(Espialy that one song in Little Mermaid 2(Blah!). and now they use all these damned bright colors for everything, it makes me yearn for the original Little Mermaid were they made the colors so mood reflecting and Emoitanal. End of Rant :)
Oh my gosh, your right! I just want to curl up and cry: Whaa!
I like old disney waaay better than new disney. My favourite movies are Hunchback and Lion King! especially Lion King!
The music in Hunchback is beutifle.
I actually didnt like Hunchback. Oh, and Sabata, what does being a Heavy Catholic parent have to do with the way Disney makes movies? (i'm not mean asking this in a hostile way).
Becuase heavily Catholic parents wont let there children watch anything that is remotely Violent until there about 14 or 13, they also are the ones who tend to write alot of complaint letters on such topics ie: blah blah blah this is unapriate for children Blah blah, plus these the are the people who cause American production companies to hack up animae so bad that you can barely even till its Animae!!! >:( End of Rant
my mom and dad are Ctaholic and i watched Gladiator when i was 7. And my other friends parents are Catholic, and he saw Lethal Weapon when he was 6.
Besides, that's not Catholics, my friend, that's Secular Progressives.
I am refering to those who are HEAVILY catholic, the people who will rather die then let some one harm a bible, those kind of catholics
OH. Had me confused there. Yeah, thats a born-again Christian. They're freaky.
But it is quite funny what they can discover. If you turn and twist your head and want to see it, that dust in the scene in The Lion King when Simba, Timon and Pumbaa are talking about the stars, does spell "sex".
I wonder what kind of person you have to be yourself to discover something like that.
woh :o that is very interesting, well hail to ole Walt!
Thats really weird. I never saw that!

I heard the same thing, actually. I think Disney denied that it spelled that in the movie, but instead spelled "SFX," after the studio that animated the movie...or something like that. I'll have to read the article again to reassure myself.
I never caught that. What does SFX stand for anyway?
Sound effex? I don't know!
My friend just watched the Little Mermaid for the very first time in her life just last month, and she's as old as me.
Dude, thats pretty sad. The first time in her life.
She's also never had a Pixie Stick until I gave her one. I was just watching Beauty and the Beast today! Fun! :)
Maybe the new disney people are drunk?
or just plain greedy.
I hope zelda doesn't suffer the same fate a disney. *shudders like heck* Imagine the horror.
Oh yeah. Let's just hope that never happens! ;D

It'll never happen so long as we have FANmade movies of zelda, so we don't have big idiotic executives to butcher our work of art... All PRAISE NERD-DOM!
If some greedy executive tried to do that, he'd recieve a backlash so fast, it'd make the rolling goron from OoT look like he had a centre of gravity...
LONG LIVE INDEPENDANT FILM MAKERS!
The only good Disney movie left is Pirates of the Caribbean.
yah but the sad thing is they almost RUINED that, sigh* bloody disney
Nah, they arleady did. I saw it at the drive-in and it sucked. :-*
IT WAS OKAY THE FIRST TIME. THEN THEY KILLED IT. WHY!!!
becuase Disney can not let a good movie stay good, they have to fuck up on the sequal, as i said in SS class today, DEATH TO DISNEY!!!!
i agree. Storm the headquarters of evil!! :D
Sein-Hi! qui-Qon!-army of easterlings marching apon disney
