I would just like to contribute to my theory on who Kaepora Gaepora is.
As you may recall, soon after you leave the Kokiri Forest Kaepora says "Long time no see."
Well think about.
Perhaps,Rauru has experianced the future without the Hero of Time and discovered that he needed guidance in the past but as he states in the Chamber of Sages "My body is long gone." he must have been reicarnated by Zelda and sent to the past where he meets young Link.
Just an intresting theory.

For some reason, I'm imaging a 10-year old laughing for 10 minutes straight after posting that (or such a) post. Real mature. Just what's wrong with Kaepora Gaebora or gay people? If anything is useless, it's your nice little comment.
I found some errors in your theory. First of all, a person needs to die to be reincarnated. And the Sage that Kaepora Gaebora is reincarnated from is ANCIENT.
And it's not when you leave the Kokiri Forest he says, 'Long time no see'. It's when you meet him in the Spirit Temple. And Rauru never says that his body is long gone, or anything that sounds like it.
Besides, Kaepora Gaebora appears in the sceen where you meet Sheik outside the Spirit Temple, in the alternate future. Rauru has to stay in the Chamber of Sages until Ganon has been defeated, so they cannot be the same.

saria returns: Yuo can state your own opinion, just watch out for how you say it.
Hi no Seijin: Members have a right to state their own opinion on game characters, since this is a fan sight.
Lady Nintendo: That wasn't the best post, I'll admit it, but please don't critize members or their posts.
Anyways, I believe that KG is just some dumb talking owl who never leaves you alone.
And let me make something clear. How people treat characters such as Tingle, Navi, and Kaepora Gaepora tell me how they would treat people like them in real life. And I can relate to Tingle. My personality is just as quirky as his is, and any insult against him can be taken as an insult against me.
Well, that's you're view, in reality, these are video game characters, they aren't real. And no one here means to insult others similar to the characters, just the characters. Feel about it as you wish, though.
In other words, if you thought you were just like Link and I said Link was the absolute most idiotic character ever, you would be absolutely okay with that? Trust me, I realize that they're video game characters. But if you'll listen to me, how people treat video game characters tell me how they might treat people like the video game characters in real life, and I don't appreciate this negativity. We are a community, and any negativity is bad.

No, you wouldn't. Nor would I.
Call me crazy if you want to, but you can LOVE a character from a game, tv-show, comic, whatever. Sure, there are differences between loving a real person and a not real one, but that doesn't mean you can't feel anything for the latter. For instance, I will get aggresive if anyone downright insults Mani from Strange Dawn. Discussing a character is okay and no where near the same as insulting it. It could hurt someone who loves the character.
That's all very true. I, for example, cannot help but feel a very strong love for several characters in Tales of Symphonia. Yes, even Zelos. Sure, he starts out as a big jerk, but he becomes pretty cool later.
Granted, in Zelda, because it focuse less on character personalities, it's a lot harder. But there's still characters it's hard not to get fond of. Saria and Medli are good examples, but Midna is the best. :-*
I already love the latter, and I haven't even played the game she appears in (I've seen some gameplay videos with rather, uh, spoilerish material).
Well, when they don't like video game characters, they don't mean they don't like a person like the character.
Also , if you paid attention well, I only said (not exact words) that this is my opinion, and you are free to have yours. I never said 'this is what I think and I hate you if you don't think this way!', I only said my opinion, and stating what they meant when you got insulted and they never meant it.
Also, LadyNintendo, you got way too far into this. No one here is going to directly insult anyone's family.

I agree on that, even though I don't think this will/would end in a flame war. However, I feel the need to explain my former post since you apparently didn't get what I was saying and think "I got way too far into this", while I didn't.
What I was saying is that you can insult/hurt someone by insulting a person/character he/she cares about. I only used the example of family and friends because I understand that not everybody understands how feelings for characters (can) work; that you can love them too and that it can hurt badly if people insult them. Using Mani as an example again, whenever I think back of her and what she's been through (Strange Dawn is an anime btw), I can't help but feel sick, like I have to vomit. It's like someone kicks me in my chest and that person just won't stop. Mani may not be a real person, but I care about her. And it would hurt if someone made the kind of "joke" about her as the kind made about Kaepora Gaebora.
I understand he doesn't have a big fanbase (a shame really), but for the sake of that one person that loves him, don't say such things about him.
And to take care of your "this is my opinion" thing, it's like we have been saying. People become attached to characters and feel for them. It can be your opinion that Tingle is evil all you like, but I and others would appreciate it if you kept it to yourselves. And like I said, this negativity isn't really needed in the Zelda community.
